Please tell me this will not go ahead.

UL is already 110 on service stations which is 103.9 at my local station in Bolton and 104.9 at my cousins local in Amesbury

V power UL is 110 at my local petrol station

Supermarket and Shell are at 114.9 for diesel in Leeds, and rising fast :( A Texaco next to the M621 J.1 is at 118.9  and an independent local I passed yesterday was at 119.9

saw 122.9 in wales last week.

sods law a fuel protest the day my new car arrives.

Think I may brim other halves Aygo tomorrow. (or am I just panic buying?) ... if we are faced with another Sept 2000 senario at least I can use it (considering she isn't working at the moment) and get 60mpg, should see me right for a couple of weeks or so if the worse should happen

the plan is to put no diesel at all in it.... i am not sure diesels are actually that viable any more....

but i do still have a 25l drum of 106 octane... left from when i still had the octy......:D

so if the shortage gets bad i can drive round with it on the back mad max style.... ( or these days does mad max style mean dressed as a german with 5 prostitutes whipping me? )

Well I filled up today at 1.19.9p a litre today. :(

Even just this news story will create panic buying and fuel supply issues, ffs. :thumbdwn:

Thats awfully close to the limit i set for selling the octy, as soon as it reaches 1.20 a litre its on the market. Prices are just daft!

That Texaco now up to 120.9 - Shell station 1/2 mile further along same road 114.9

So why are people giving Texaco the business :confused::confused:

I guess they trade on non-locals stopping in for a top-up before joining the motorway

Oh, and idiots :P

I filled the Passat last night, nice way to spend £80.

Hi,

I saw this on teletext, and it would appear that the greedy fuel suppliers are trying to do the employees out of their works pensions.

Yet another concerted attempt to rob ordinary working people of pensions. No one wants to be without, fuel and in my job it will make life extremely difficult, but they have my sympathy, as soon if this carries on then the only ones that will have pensions are the bloated fat cats, with them being totally OTT, along with their massive share appropriations.

Then the rest of us will have to rely on the p**s poor state pension, or means tested hand outs, or scavenge on the rubbish tips in our latter years. At the same time the fat cats, oligarchs get ever richer, by what they take from us.

Soviet (open thy eyes and you will see):finger:

I dont have to open my eyes . Soviet , Ive been seeing behaviour like this from the 'fat cats' for years! It seems the only people who are 'allowed' to have money are those who are already rich...well thats one way to control the 'masses' i suppose.

It won't happen

The strike might but the shortage won't

I don't know why but it just won't

(I have been drinking so don't really know what I am saying)

But I still say there will be no shortage

The average price of diesel has risen some 8ppl since January (source-AA) and in that the government would take an extra 1.4ppl just as VAT. Given that they are recouping an exponentially ever increasing percentage, I think pressure needs to be applied for them to reduce fuel duty to counter the growing problem. If they refuse they are sure to breed further discontent with the public, but that doesn't seem to bother them at all. Possibly more important to them however is the fact that this current price rise trend is sure to have a knock-on effect on inflation, and quickly. I know they can, will and do massage the figures (lies, damned lies and statistics  ) but they can only do that so much before it jumps up and bites their @r$e$. If we look at the figures over a whole year, the price has risen some 20ppl, incorporating 3.5ppl as VAT, and yet they considered an extra 2ppl in the budget, and still may as the idea was postponed, not scrapped

Just done some maths and based on the average 25.5bn litres of fuel sold in Britain each year, the 20ppl rise in price over the last year will have raked in £892,500,000 in extra VAT alone, over and above the existing VAT on the old price AND the exorbitant fuel duty
