Bolero (all?) USB Media Glitch - device disappears!

Featured Replies

Got a recurring niggle - regular, but not every-time which is as follows:

1).Insert USB stick, listen to tunes, everything is great.

2).Next time you drive the car, (with stick still inserted), not only does it not continue from where you left off, the device itself disappears! (you can see the logo go!)

3), Remove and re-insert the stick, browse all the way through to where you are, and continue your tunes.

4). Continue from point 2.

Doesn't do it every time, but does seem to be worse when a BT device is connected. Will try different memory stick, but this is sandisk of which I have two, which both behave similarly.

Anyone else had this? Apologies if covered elsewhere, I used the search function and couldn't find anything.

Not had this myself, however why don't you use an SD card? I've not had any issue with this either.

SD Card works fine and isn't susceptible to the same issue it seems.

I have exactly the same problem with my bolero, 3 to 4 times a week, randomly, it doesn't recognise my usb stick.

But you don't need to unplug it to fix it. Just push and hold the head unit power button for about 15 / 20 seconds until it restarts and shows a skoda welcome screen. Then you'll see you usb device coming to life again AND playing the last track you were listening to. Weird !!

My Bolero was playing up by freezing the odd time and also did this. It's in at the dealers getting a new control unit fitted as there is apparently a fault with them I'm not sure if it will cure this problem but if it does I'll post on here.

Weird mine does the same, Wonder if it's a feature :)

Sorry to bump such an old thread but did replacing the unit cure this error?thanks :)

My Ford Fusion in the US had a similar USB issue. It was an incompatibility with the U3 enabled thumb drive.

I noticed mine disconnected when bluetooth audio connected but didn't think anything else of it, might be something to do with one or the other?

I notice same thing with my Bolero and USB :/
