Some of it is so true to life especially those feckin voice recongnition systems on phone systems.

Had a data security specialist across from the USA, he was having trouble with the accents around the table, we just told him everything we say is encrypted by default.

"Set phasers to malkie"

They'll no ken whit yer talkin aboot.

Seriously voice recognition is destined to fail where accents are concerned - Gordie, Scouse, Manc, Yorkshire and Welsh to name a few

Some might like the tale. Thirty odd years ago i ended up working in what was once Rhodesia ,near the South African border. I hail from a North West coast fishing village(with a high east coast content and language),but have lived all over Scotl;and, so I'm multi dialectic .Our elitrician came from Motherwell, with a broads Scots accent, so we had a field day with the locals. Then one day the mobile mechanic arrived. We'd had our fill of the whites yaping away in Africaans, and the natives in yaba yabba, so we started in East coast and had a field day with no one understanding us.

Ah the Doric.

SWMBO's family are from Inverurie so I'm occasionally exposed to a broadside of Doric. I can get by these days but some-things still throw me. Her uncle writes poetry and other things in Doric. Fit fah foo.

I can do Angus Teuchter and Dundee "eh Peh", ken?

My father in law was from Stonehaven and broad as anything. Normally managed to piece a sentence together from the context but like you occasionally thrown by one out of left field.

Remember the Aberdonian shoe shop assistant "fit like fit fit?

We have Alex Salmond (ex FM) standing for Westminster & a wind up & the 'Que sera sera' factor

Maybe Google 'We have a dream', for cheesy youtube.

or

the Real Scotland. The series.

On the East.

Then the nice West further North.

Hadn't heard of it until someone from Clacks talked about it.
