Project Wrc Wannabe Part 2 (New Ownership)

Featured Replies

So firstly let me start by saying thanks to Dan (dsmithmobile) for making this possible and all his work beforehand

Dans original build http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/220816-project-wrc-wannabe/

Mines is continuing on from where Dan left off with it

So plans are as follows and not in any order....

Wrc Wing (Done)

Stainless Steel Grill Mesh (Get at some point)

Aftermarket Mud Flaps (Done)

Redo Roof Graphics (In Time)

White Vinal The Sunroof Glass (Done)

Roof Vent Scoop (Received but rekon it's too small)

Replace wheels with Speedline Turinis (Got the wheels 9/6, dropped off at powder coater 10/6)

Home Made Xenons or Oem (Got both :D)

Aerials to copy Wrc....

Maybe Redo Bonnet with more vents

Electric Isolation Graphic as that's not present

So the rear spoiler I have now sold on so I can purchase a more appropriate Wrc, Taking that off tomorrow for the buyer for a drift car....

so while I wait on that coming, I noticed that the wiper blades are just a tad to long and when wiping is touching the sun strip and graphics so......

had to reduce the length to avoid all previous good work by Dan and his missus

much better now, so that'll pass a Mot I hope :S, but I shall shorten the wipers arms further down the line and reuse full length wiper blades

So stay tuned folks!

Didn't know Dan had made his mind up to sell on. Perhaps a good thing so you get the chance to carry on his excellent work. Will be following this project closely. Well done for getting stuck straight in.

PS just seen the end of Dan's project thread. Onwards and upwards to Dan and the new owner!

Thanks for the reply

Well now that I have a legend on my hands I'll be alot more active than previously on the forum, Currently managing 3 projects but not all are requiring money input at this stage so all is good, Got my own Tdi vrs rep and a 4x4 1.8t Tdi conversion underway, each requiring input but not overly time consuming at the moment

So took the spoiler off and stuck the oem one back on for now just till the WRC one comes, I'll say Dan them back 10mm nuts for the footplates of the wing were a nightmare...

How did you manage that, guessing the tape has something to do with it

So been at it again for a little bit, removed and sold the bucket seats, the drivers and passengers both were fixed positions and no use like that for my plans so out the came and on the interweb to a new owner, when messing about today noticed the sunroof is still a little leaky so will get around to that also

Yeah, that an other 2 out of shot, can see the missus auto in the Wrc pic, and the 4x4 is in the drive....

So today changed the back Nearside caliper today as it was sticking, so moves nice and freely, still looking for somewhere decent for a mot.

On this photo you can clearly see the wheel arches are not only wider, but also that the cutouts are lower.

Think the roof scoop needs to be wider, it's only sat on same as the spoiler, as i need to repaint the spoiler

I really prefer this spoiler over all its previous spoilers: now it is like a proper WRC! Love it!

so nice to see this car saved and on the road :)
