Is a Yeti related to a Nissan Note?

Curious one this - I recently took delivery of a 'bespoke' boot liner for my Yeti. Opened the box to see the sticker on said new boot liner said 'Nissan Note'. Immediately rang the company only to be told it also fitted the Yeti - and so it does - exactly! So - how are the two vehicles related?

Really doubt it as the Note, is actually the same platform as the Renault Clio II and III, it also spawned the Renault Modus, and Grand Modus, which are the same platform (Alliance B )as the Nissan Micra and the Nissan Note.

This is why I posed the question - the Renault/Nissan relationship is common knowledge, but I knew of no tie in with Skoda.

Yet it's an exact fit, right down to accommodating the intricacies of the rear seat mechanisms.

There you go then, the Nissan Note as a nice cheap alternative to a Yeti if you need the similar load space and plenty of room in the front,

easy entry and exit and thousands of them for 'much cheapness' at Main Dealerships and Car Supermarkets.

All only FWD but a nice reliable car.

I was stupid enough a while back to puchase a Nissan Note as the wife 'had always wanted one'!!

Huge mistake. Badly built pile of plastic nastiness. They have taken all that is bad about Reault and Nissan and ditched all that is good.

Kept it about 4 months before swapping it for Yeti number 1.

I had one on hire for about 3 weeks whilst on business, I could never get away with how the interior plastics reminded me in quality, texture and noise of a Victoria biscuit tin plastic insert .... truly dreadful, given the promise on paper .... defo a Renault built badly by Nissan was my conclusion

Nissan (well Datsun as it was then) have a habit of doing that - back in the 80s in a tie up with Alfa Romeo they managed to produce a car with Alfa electrics, preponderance to rust and mechanical reliability but the looks and handling of a Datsun Cherry!

I couldn't remember what a Nissan 'Note' was so I had a look at the WhatCar review.  Interested to read their description of the boot -

"Big and pretty useful "

The same sized boot liner as a Yeti.  Hmm.
