  1. A rare moment with both the Superb and the Yeti clean 😎 Washed, clayed, polished with Autoglym SRP and finished with a coat of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection.

Just the badge or just the letters. Not a mixture of both I'm loving the Black badges 😎
  3. did some boot and rear seat deadenings today, you can notice some improvements

  7. TIBET I was always getting flashed at initially and Allams tweaked the off side headlight (Xenon) with an Allen key on the headlight unit itself. No more being flashed at. Recently, current TIBET III (Xenons) seemed to be attracting unwanted flashing so I tweaked both units down just a tiny tad (against the garage door). I’m away from base so can’t post a picture but there’s a hex screw inboard and to the rear of each headlight unit. Didn’t need much of a turn. I don’t disbelieve those that say it has to be done via VCDS etc etc but I can assure you you can adjust the base setting ‘mechanically’. PS I didn’t measure distances/heights against the garage door so can’t help there.
  8. Hi all, I'm new here, but I've recently been doing some work with all the chrome on my Octavia 3, and I just wanted to get some thoughts on black vs chrome for the exhaust tips. Personally I think it looks worlds better, and looks a little more sporty than stock - perhaps it could even be paired with a more aggressive diffuser! In terms of difficulty it was about as simple as I could have of hoped for, just 4 screws on each tip. Then it's a case of sand, prime, spray & seal. Took about 4 hours all in.
  9. Go onto the wheelbase website and put your make & model in, it'll suggest all the sizes you can use.
  10. Is the OP in a LHD or RHD country as it'll be a different part...
  11. I sent you these links before, these are what you need and much cheaper.
  12. Thanks for replying, no problems about the photos I'm just trying to see how professional, well, tidy they are in their work. They have the reversing mat which is a good sign and their workshop looks tidy. The local Skoda dealership quoted me £500 and how it would take 2 working days for them to fit a "high line" camera with no washer if the photos were anything to go by, they had no idea what kind of camera it would be until they got it in. I think the washer works either when you put it into reverse gear, similar to how the rear wiper will activate when you put the car into reverse gear or when you turn on the rear washer, 2 hours is actually a great time all things considered, it'll take me just under 3 hours to get there. I think there are one or two cafes within walking distance too.
  13. I'm thinking of trying these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-FOR-SKODA-OCTAVIA-2008-On-ROOMSTER-2006-2010-18-WHITE-LED-NUMBER-PLATE-LAMPS/331735217102 - Looks like resistors are already fitted.
  14. Meine came with resistors too. So I fitted them anyway and they've been perfect with no errors. Lovely and bright but look factory fit as the light spread is very even.

Hi Tim. Used Skoda live chat for an update. Car built week 38 and now at port of Emden awaiting a ship to be assigned. Stated this could take 7 - 10 days then once a ship assigned takes up to 2 weeks for ship to arrive UK.
  16. Ah great thank you. Yes the removal instructions are in the manual. 👍
  17. Been a busy week. New anti roll bar fitted, new bumper is here but need another few bits to fit. Picked up some really cheap sport seats for it too!
  18. If you remove the glove box it should be marked on it somewhere, bottom or back at a guess. Your owners manual should show you how to do this unless something changed on the face lift that I'm not aware of.

Wow. All too testicle for me. That said I am looking at either electrifying our existing 18 speed bikes or, buying some new e-bikes to poodle around on. I'll probably go new & for a folding design to make carrying them around inside the car easier & more secure. I just found out that the Superb with an electric tailgate cannot have a rear boot mounted bike rack. Roof or a tow bar mounted bike racks are my only options. Although I have roof bars & bike mounts roof mounted is no good for height restricted car parks & a tow bar just for a bike rack is far too expensive. A folding bike would probably be cheaper than the tow bar for the Superb!!
  20. I still had to put load resistors on! Other than that, they are nice and bright and easy to fit
  21. Glad you are all sorted. 👍👍👍
  22. Glad someone agrees absolute waste of time and effort even replying to him
  23. I would consider a sports cat. Not a lot of difference in flow between a good sports cat and a decat.
  24. I'm going to check all that this evening. If there was a fault and they'd defaulted to the low position then it would be even more difficult to understand the tester reporting it as being too high. If nearside and offside measure out at the same level then I shall be very suspicious. I'm going to get try to get the guy who fitted my tow bar to come and check the connector, just in case there is something gone awry that I'm not spotting. I'm also inclined to see if my dealer, or some other local specialist, can do a headlight aim test. If both report back NFF then I shall be having words with the place that did the MoT. I think a free re-test (which they have already offered) and a refund of the test fee as recompense for the time and trouble they've put me to would be reasonable.
  25. Now I feel really stupid.. Ignore previous post. If I could delete I would.. Sorted. Thanks all
  26. Except it is when you're talking about replacing an engine core and none of the detail changes are relevant to anything other than the practical task of replacing the engine core and all the spitting, frothing and shouting doesn't make any difference. It's irrelevant.
  27. I always reverse onto my driveway from a main road, I will look at disabling the feature in VCDS, given that there seem to be hundreds or weirdly named options (probably bad translations) wherever I look does anyone know what the option is called and what module needs coding? I guess the BCM.
  28. Just to re-assure the O.P. The floor-pans are made by robots on an automated line, - no opportunity for human error. The holes will be there.
  29. The thing with the cars that have the Front Fog Lights coming on when Reverse is selected regardless of the circumstances or location is they can be disabled. It is ridiculous the the EU Construction and use allowed this which is really against the UK Highway code were the use of Fog Lights are when the Visibility is reduced by Fog. If someone goes to reverse say off a road and into a driveway there should not be Fog Lights just automatically coming on, 2 if the wheels as straight and then to one as the steering angle changes. If a driver needs extra front lights as they reverse the 'Fog Light switch' is there at the end of their finger. They are selecting reverse, maybe putting on an indicator, they could put on both front fogs if needed and nobody coming towards them, or even put on Full Beam to the front if there is the need to see where the front of the car is while swinging in someplace in reverse.
  30. The reality seems to be the springs fitted to the behemoth Superb are also fitted in Octavias and VW Golfs so not only is the Greenline lower as new, the springs are carrying a lot of weight and consequently the go soft
  31. This post has pictures of the holes and fit.
  32. Look inside the chassis leg from the end with a torch, you will soon see the holes if they are where they should be.
  33. Fingers crossed for you. The stickers covering the holes were square if I remember correctly, 1inch x 1inch at most.
  34. Another captured same day in st ives
  35. I've had it at night where the wipers will glaze over the screen, especially going under a street light. I just used some white spirit to strip off any 'gunk' which may have been on the screen and then washed it thoroughly will my usual soap and water. I clayed the screen, give it another rinse over and then dried it. To finish I applied my usual TurtleWax Clearvue (the old stuff which got pulled because of the VOC level) and now all is good. No troubles since doing that. Even stopped the wipers from jumping.
  36. Yep, very likely. It is the connector which is hard to find. If I can find a source for then, well, I have another spot where I could use them (front camera).

Bike arrived, set up for now and tried out. Happy with its weight, simplicity and quality. I will get out an do some miles on it tomorrow. Got the App on my phone and registered but still have not got the bike to pair with my phone using Bluetooth.
  38. I was an apprentice technician at a Skoda dealer and then moved into their parts department, everything was always itemised and especially with tyres we always made sure that we asked what brand (if any they wanted)
  39. So, I phoned up the garage the day after (Wednesday) and tired to talk to the owner (he's a one man band sort of place), when he was doing the work he spoke to my wife who has zero technical knowledge and he in essence told her that the evergreen was the same as the cross climates. He shouted at me down the phone, said he'd done exactly what he was asked, accused my wife of lying and the hung up. Refused to answer anymore calls. I've since taken the car to am Halfords Autocentre (I know they have a reputation but) and got a new cross climate fitted and we've kept the evergreen. As I don't know how much he charged for the tyre, I'm not sure how much out of pocket I am. I've spoken to a local breakers yard who'll buy the tyre off me as it's virtually brand new (It's done about 2 miles) but I won't know how much for until I turn up with it. Moral of the story, even 2 recommendations from 2 good friends and lots of positive Google reviews can't make you immune from a dodgy garage run buy a dodgy bloke.
  40. As far as I can make out from the parts catalogue, the components affected by P2015 on the petrol and diesel engines are very different. I'd suggest casting your net wider than just Skoda forums for a possible fix - the engine is probably shared with other VAG group brands. You can find the engine code on the timing chain cover, or on the build label (one copy inside the service book, another in the spare wheel well). Parts catalogue suggests it's CCZA, and a quick google points to it being used across Skoda, Audi, VW at least.
  41. Had many cars with heated windscreens and never had any problems driving or seeing in any light or darkness. I have owned 3 Ford Focus, a Kuga and my current Octavia. I also wear glasses so cant see that being the issue.
  42. @BlackMesaUK I haven't got a clue as to the answers to your questions I'm afraid! Simplest thing would be to poke around under the bonnet and see what you have. Or someone with a knowledge of the petrol engine will probably be along at some stage to answer your question.
  43. Just an update, after checking wiring thoroughly and measured voltages, fault found within drivers base heat mat. Replaced with genuine skoda part, all good. Easier job than I expected.
  44. I've had mine since start of September - 2017 facelift VRS TDI 5 door in Meteor Grey with black pack plus and pan roof. The colour, black pack plus & pan roof were all a must have for me. Unfortunately this restricted the choice to just 1 in the country at a Skoda dealership which luckily turned out to be a good one. Originally set out to get a wagon but saw this and loved it. 3 years old and unmarked. Skoda are currently doing 2 years warranty, 2 free services, 2 years MOT cover & 2 years breakdown cover so a no brainer.
  45. Another little Job ticked off the list, Had a few Hours spare on Wednesday Afternoon so whipped the Alloys off the gave the Brake Calipers and Disc Bells a bit of a smarten up. Gave them a Degrease, Lightly Rubbed them down and then Painted. Went for the Subtle approach as I always do... Calipers and Disc Guards Painted Hammerite Smooth Black Brake Disc Bells Painted Hammerite Smooth Silver Must have Painted at least 20 x Lots of Calipers on different Cars over the Years, Always a worthwhile Job and makes a big difference in my opinion. Not the best Pictures but you get the idea, Should look even better when the Alloys have been Refurbished and have new Centre Caps etc.

Its a good bit of fun and my older daughter loves playing on it as well. We added the handbrake just before lockdown to play the WRC's. So now we are way better at "Left over crest, Straight, Through hedge"

Do you always have to make reference to how godd you are? How powerful and how frugal your cars are? You must be so insecure, who cares how much money you have. You're like a child
  48. Busy week this week, car has been in the workshop again today for some more work....theirs numerous threads regards retrofit of the rear view camera but i wasn't confident enough to buy the kit and give it a go myself like some have so i took it to a local guy and in under 2 hours i was on my way home and another box ticked
  49. I assume he's said what he said because the voice commands don't understand the Welsh accent? You should be able to access a phone menu on your instrument display through your right hand steering wheel controls.
  50. I had this issue, variable service done but, service set to fixed, so 11 months on it's saying service due in 30 days. Spoke to dealer and "eventually" found out that even if if that interval is reset, the ECU monitors the cars driving style. mileage and oil condition to estimate when a new service is due, normally around 18,000 - 20,000 miles or 18-20 months. To reset Hold dash reset trip button in with ignition off Turn ignition on Shows "Reset Service Interval" Press trip reset twice - "quite quickly" Dash shows service interval set for 365 days Sorted 🙂
