    • Hi, Thanks for the help! How do I know the exact DSG version of my gearbox? could it be the DQ200 that does not require maintenance?   The car model is a 2017 1.4 TSI ACT SE L Executive, automatic, 2x4, hatchback, 148 BHP
    • It strikes me that there are two possibilities here.   1) state of the battery. Not enough Ah or CCA capacity in the battery will cause starting problems. 2) distance the car travels. If you are using the cat for short journeys, then please take the vehicle on a long and fast journey and allow the car to do a full regen. You can also get the car to do a forced regen to zero out the soot levels if needed.   Yes, glow plugs will start failing after 100k miles and need replacing (all 4 at a time ideally) Any chance of a full code scan as opposed to a partial scan?
    • Similar to last time - big warning on the dash saying "gearbox in emergency mode", and only then using gears 2, 4 and 6. Reverse can only be operated by going forward a bit first
    • I did some tests and made observations on my DSG car yesterday. Its just about impossible to get the rpm to drop below the tickover 800rpm. Even if you select Manual mode in a high gear and then brake, the DSG will still change down before the revs drop below the 800 rpm. So in effect the DSG is pre-empting any anti-stall system that would appear to be faulty in the manual versions. This is my first DSG vehicle, previous ones have always been manual (albeit not VAG 1.5tsi) and whilst my driving style would have been similar to others, in slowing in a high gear, I have never had a problem with any of my vehicles stalling.
    • What were the symptoms this time around?
