  1. Yeah but I'm old and decrepit 😄
  2. I just bought one of these, Ryan. It's great for getting your alloys back on the hub as it holds the wheel whilst you get a bolt in. I found it awkward trying to hold the heavy wheel with one hand and trying to get a bolt in with the other.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234467937068
  3. Where there's a will, there's a way 😁
  4. No problem 🙂 I just used some flat rubber washers that I had lying around, I think they were tap washers. I put one on each bolt on the outer side against the back of the number plate, but I guess putting them inside the boot lid would be ok too if you wanted to. You could also double them up if there's enough plastic bolt length.
  5. I did away with the original metal threaded inserts and used the yellow plastic nuts and bolts. I put a rubber washer on each bolt behind the plate to help keep things sealed as the insert holes are hexagon shaped and bigger than the plastic bolt shanks. Had to drill out the holes in the number plate to a suitable size (6mm). You have to remove the tailgate plastic trim for access to get the nuts on of course. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/number-plates/number-plate-accessories/number-plate-fixers The part number of the original threaded inserts is N 90479203. I think I had to drill mine out as they are a rivet. I don't know what tool is used to rivet them. Maybe a Rivnut tool will work but I am not sure. Screw size is M5. I believe some models may have an alternative plastic clip.... https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/wht003183-expansion-nut-st4-2x11-skoda-2928.html
  6. Yeah, had this problem in the past.
  7. £8.45 shipping here for seal.... https://www.autopartspro.co.uk/originalparts/oem-047103487
  8. Not sure what the delivery charge is here...... https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.com/catalog/en_uk/part/047103487
  9. Annoyingly, they sometimes come with no seal. Yeah, think it was the wrong one anyway so deleted.
  10. deleted. mistake
  11. I can't see any in the UK at the moment. I guess a Skoda dealer might be able to get one, especially as it's identical to a Felicia/Favorit 1.3 oil cap and was also used on some rear-engined models, and some VW Lupos.
  12. On the 1.4 mpi the cover is used as part of the oil filler and has its own rubber seals because the VW type cap actually fits to the cover itself and the cover also seals to the rocker cover oil filler hole. A Felicia type oil cap is clipped to the underside of the cover in case you want to run the engine without the cover fitted as the VW one will not fit directly in the rocker cover hole. That's what you use if you want to do away with the cover altogether. Sometimes the cap is missing but they can be bought on ebay.
  13. Hi Luke, There is no bayonet fit cap. The Felicia one is push fit. If it's very loose it means the rubber seal needs renewing. The seal is part number 047103487 The oil cap is part number 047103485A (sometimes comes minus rubber seal). This was mine....
  14. That's what Tech1e is saying isn't it?
  15. I've looked and looked for this but can't find it. I thought it would be 6Y0 971 845 A or 6X0 971 845 A but they are different. Looks like a scrap yard job or drill a hole through the plastic and use a cable tie.
  16. It failed on mine and kept causing the brakes to suddenly snatch on. It was very dangerous and frightening. A new pipe with valve cured it permanently.

  18. I had a Chinese starter once. It was prawn crackers.
  19. Yes that's what that is. Apart from the scuttle drains there are obviously drain holes in the bottom of the doors but not much else to worry about really.
  20. Poor chap, sorry to hear that.
  21. Complete joint. Don't think you can get just the bearings/cage.
  22. Check the wires in the door bellows first. It should never lock itself with a door open.
  23. If you're skilled enough you can replace just the microswitch but sometimes the plastic covered lock cam wich operates the switch is shredded, so a lot of people just renew the whole lock unit. Switches are available for those that want to go that route if the plastic covered cam is intact..... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08PZ153F1?
