  1. If it locks itself even with the door wide open, it's usually the door lock microswitch, bad solder joints on the lock unit pcb or broken wires inside the rubber door bellows. Check the wires first. Usually the lights-on warning bleep doesn't work either but this could be intermittent.
  2. This could be the common door lock microswitch fault. Does the car lock itself after about 20 seconds even with the driver's door open (keys out of ign)? Does the warning bleep sound if you have your lights on and the door open (ign off)?
  3. ^ Scrap that. I see it is/was indeed split. I'm distracted at home and can't add much right now.
  4. Check very carefully the servo plastic vacuum pipe for splits near the connectors.
  5. The engine was developed by Toyota/Daihatsu. Supposed to be a very good unit by all accounts.
  6. Well, it's finally time to say goodbye to my trusty Fabia after 10 'interesting' years. Collecting my replacement 2013 Peugeot 107 tomorrow. *pics now removed*
  7. Nice to see your old Fabia back in the day, Lee 🙂
  8. Torque setting..... Don't think it's strictly necessary to use new bolts but it's up to you.
  9. Yes, the Rivnut flanges will hold the panel very slightly away from the door and may require sealant. But sealant should be used even with pop rivtes as the panels usually leak.
  10. On the crossmember under the front seats I think. https://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/fabia-mk1/body/body_work/passenger_protection/airbag/airbag_system/?expand_article=1
  11. 2019 is a Mk3 Fabia. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/298-skoda-fabia-mk-iii/
  12. M6 Rivnuts. And you'll need a proper tool to set them. Probably best to use aluminium Rivnuts as the steel ones need a lot of force to set. Sealey Rivnut tool AK3984 is an example of a decent tool. There are smaller tools that look like a pop rivet gun but they may be hard work or may not work at all.
  13. ^ Those are designed to go into square holes. You cowboy 😁
  14. Just out of interest, do you know the brand of the pads you have?
  15. The only thing I use on the pins/bushes is ceramic brake grease. I know some people use copper grease too. It's a bit of a puzzler if it's not the pads. Are you sure it's not the drop links as they are notorious for knocking/rattling?
  16. I think these are yours. Those springs on the back need to be satisfactory....
