You can just remove the front pipe section. It is joined to the rest of the exhaust by this type of sleeve clamp...

If you find that the lid opens too easily, there are two metal spring clips at the top that are just pushed on. They can fall off as once happened to one of mine which makes the lid far too easy to open. Make sure you have two of them present. I took a pic of the clips...

Pretty sure he means the big main glovebox. I don't think any of them had lockable small cubby boxes.

If it locks itself even with the drivers' door open it's a sign of a failed/failing microswitch on the drivers' door lock unit inside the door. It's a very common fault on VAG cars of this era.

I know mate but you can't just glue a badge on. The factory badges are specially bonded to not come off with airbag deployment.

No I mean that the OEM badge on the airbag is attached in such a way as to not embed itself in your face in the event of a crash if the airbag goes off. Anything other than a sticker, as Ryan suggests, is a bad idea.
