New Octavia 2020 vRS?
But you have failed to say if the parking brake activates on the car when you turn off the ignition and the gearbox is in park (not when it's in traffic and start/stop is functioning) and (possibly) doors locked via the fob, that to me is a simple fail safe function to prevent the car from running away backwards or forwards when you leave it or for fuelling.

New Octavia 2020 vRS?
This has actually changed my opinion on it, I'm quite liking it. Still don't like the stupid electric parking brake, which I think is too easy to forget to activate, unless it activates automatically when you turn off the ignition and it's in park.

Usb charging very slow
I have found that if you have a Baseus wireless car charger and adaptor in the lighter (aka accessory socket), you can then put a second cable into the USB socket and initiate and run AA successfully without any issues. Now this is all well and good if your phone supports wireless charging. If it doesn't then the only option I can see is to use the port doubler that I have previously mentioned to achieve charging and Bluetooth connectivity. My S20+ does support wireless charging and when it's in the Baseus charging cradle, it leaves the phones usb port available, so I can connect it to the system via a cable and have a Bluetooth connection at the same time.

Reset Columbus SatNav Home position
Unless I'm very much mistaken, the sat nav can be switched on without the ignition being activated. It would therefore be possible for anyone who may break into the car to find out what the owners address is by simply activating the sat nav and looking at the "Home" location and subsequently stealing the keys later. It may well be prudent, not storing your home address as you know where you live, but store a nearby general location instead, something a station (bus or rail), library etc, near to your home address, as your home address. I use the village next to the one I live in, not my actual address.

Real world VRS economy
If you buy a diesel and do loads of short trips, then I think that you could be opening yourself up to engine issues with limp home mode and regen problems. If you do decent runs to/from work or regular longer distance, motorway and dual carriageway stuff, then diesel may well be a viable option. But if you are doing mostly short trips and town centre driving and infrequent longer distance journeys then a petrol engined car would be more appropriate.

Real world VRS economy
Did have it in Eco mode for a the longer motorway and dual carriageway stretches and there were a few 50 mph restrictions with SPECS on them, Guildford - Nottingham via M40, A43 and M1, then Nottingham - Kidderminster (for the SVR) - Worcester - Cheltenham (for the GWR) - Swindon - Reading - Guildford via M4, A329M and A322, it was when it got near Brookwood that it started flagging up about fuel, so I filled up at the JS supermarket. 🙂 And a good few sections were done non stop (no toilet/food breaks etc). 359 otc at Brookwood, with hindsight I think I could have made it back the last 12 or so miles easily.

Real world VRS economy
Most out of a tank for me is 359 and it said I had 25 miles left, but I wasn't brave enough to find (test) out the accuracy of the fuel range system.

vRS Limited options available at Launch
It doesn't look metallic, sure it's not the bog standard Corrida Red?

Real world VRS economy
On general day to day stuff, mostly the 6 miles each way trip to work and back, plus any shopping trips are returning a 29.9 mpg on Super Unleaded (97). It does go up a bit more of I venture onto the A3 or M25 (aka magic roundabout) at quiet times. Best I've had is ~44mpg on a trip to Somerset with a light foot and light traffic.

Usb charging very slow
The only concern that I have is there maybe an issue with a return current, someone with electronic skills may well be able to confirm or deny that. I have a current draw issue with my S20+ if I want to use AA and Bluetooth, I have to choose one or tother. Not both as I have a wireless charger in the car, which allows me hands free conversations and charging, but it denys me AA. So I just use Google Maps instead, not that I have any need for them UFN.

Usb charging very slow
Well I've given you a possible solution. You either put up with the problem or try and find a workaround, but it may (or may not) involve an extra cable to supplement the power draw.

Usb charging very slow
Have you tried using a USB doubler? I can get a USB C doubler.. Something like this should allow you to charge from an adaptor, whilst you connect the other one to the USB port (in theory).

What external CD Drives can be used to play my CDs?
Are you that old? 🤔

What external CD Drives can be used to play my CDs?
Someone call the whitecoats, another one has escaped. 😉 CDs are for home, it takes my PC about 90-120s to copy a CD into MP3 format at 192kbps. Which is a good compromise on quality, size and space taken.

No paint code sticker in VRS
Now give your VIN number to your local dealer and they'll be able to order the correct paint for you.

New Octavia 2020 vRS?
So do I. But so far (touchwood) apart from 1 very hot day, it has performed flawlessly since a firmware update. Which is something that I asked Garlands to do in the first place. 🙄

New Octavia 2020 vRS?
Dunno yet. I'll wait for a while as I can't change for about a year.

Planning to buy an Octavia. advice please.
Have a look at a Jaguar or something else.

Short USB C cable for dashcam
Have a look on Aliexpress or Etsy, both are quite good for finding odd things. Type carefully though as you maybe offered something quite unusual or unexpected. 😂😳

New Octavia 2020 vRS?
I won't be having one. Looking at the new Jaguar XE 2021 edition, with loads of gizmos and it comes in at a similar price to the RS. Has a traditional gear lever (well similar to BMW), although it still has an electronic parking brake. Looks much nicer.

Switched fuses for dashcam.
I haven't. Because... 1. I haven't/don't have any time, too busy with work especially when I can get paid min £355‐£440 per extra shift. 2. I haven't got the patience to [censored] around with the stupid glovebox and the dampener, which I've looked for can't seem to find and with a car that has caused me nothing but trouble for the last 7 months, I don't think that I will bother, I'll get a company like Bannings to do it.

Do you think that it should be made a sticky? [Taxi! For The Wanderer]

Sticker to cover airbag sticker on sun visor
Of course there's always the option of removing it (sticker), but buying a replacement visor and install that to replace the now non compliant one, so that the car is then compliant again and it can be sold on.
