  1. It's there for a reason, not decoration. It's more than likely a legal requirement for it to be there and visible too, although unlikely to be checked. It will need to be there if and when you sell the car on.
  2. Good luck trying to get a dealer to do that. More chance of hell freezing over.
  3. I've changed the battery three times, but I put it down to KESSY. It's not a drama to change the batteries. Especially if you buy cheap ones.
  4. I actually went MoR price £19 delivered. When I can get the socket set out of the garage, I will fit it. I'm going to leave the existing bonnet strut in situ, so if I raise the bonnet in windy conditions it will act as an extra bit of support.
  5. I think I'll go with the cheaper option, as I'm only keeping the car for another year or so, so it's not worth spending a fortune on it.
  6. They're 550mm 300NM or 600NM struts in those links.

  8. Can you tell me who the seller is please. 🙂
  9. Also do I need the longer M8 bolts or just standard length? Because I can get them for a couple of quid cheaper off of Ebay. It's stupid paying £4.15 p&p for something that's less than that in value terms. Also you can get some nice black ⚫ ones too. However I have noticed that SGS do, do gas struts for the Octavia (albeit Mk2), would they fit?
  10. That's the thing I'm not sure about the length and the power of the ones to get.
  11. Can't find the struts anywhere, all out of stock!
  12. Out of curiosity, do you have one or two struts?
  13. You mean these? http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-hood-power-damper-set-KI-R
  14. Try Skoda Parts. They can usually source 99.9% of stuff, just email them if you can't find it.
  15. Try Skoda Parts. I have used them they're very good.
  16. Easiest way to get the right one is find the part number and enter it into Google and see what it returns. If they match order it and if what comes through isn't what it says then return it under distance selling regulations.
  17. Try using some vinegar on a clean cloth or failing that get a lemon and squeeze the juice onto a clean cloth and wipe both inside and out with it. That way you will have a grease free screen and see if it makes any difference. If not then you have the two choices. 1. Learn to live with it. 2. Get rid of the car.
  18. Nope never had it. Used to it via my job. You will have to get used to it, it's that or get rid of the car. There's quite simply nothing that you can do about it.
  19. Might be to combination of Android (Google Services) and Huawei, unless the P30 is exempt from the ban.
  20. It's unlikely to happen with a brand new unit, however you're going to be looking at a bill of well over £1000 to supply, fit and code it to the car. That's why I suggested that you contact Ms Grace and she if she knows of a reputable source of a good quality second hand one.
  21. I use WinRar to extract my downloads, works fine.
  22. You might have a problem unless someone can setup a shared drive, because I severely doubt that you can get an email box to accept such a large amount of data.
  23. Dunno. But I know that the devil went down to Georgia
  24. Strange I use cheap one's (4 for £2) and get about a 8 months out of them, but I have keyless entry, so I expect it to be shorter on battery life. When you install a battery use gloves and make sure that you keep it a grease free as possible, finger grease can be detrimental to the life of all sorts of things.
