  1. Had a test drive in a 150 diesel Dsg and i was expecting it to be like a mini tractor but it was excellent, refined, fairly quiet, nippy when needed, everything good for what i now need.

Car:V6 L&K 2014 Spaceship Posted 20 February 2016 - 13:41 I have a monkey on DC (the spinmaster) to resign as Pm during 2017. Odds are falling now 5/1 ish ...................................................................................................... BxxxxR if only he waited till the end of the year
  3. yes,as all the informed people above have mentioned you have to be in a very good signal area, otherwise it plays up. Just watched PM resign on my columbus tv :sun:
  4. Exactly what a dealer told me yesterday, something about putting skoda into its correct position in the vag group pecking order. Shame as I in the market for a replacement car and I am not an audi fan.
  5. Just hope VW group has a better attempt at recall/modfication than Whirlpool group. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/consumer-affairs/tumble-dryer-scandal-now-whirlpool-charging-99-for-faulty-replac/
  6. Happy to stay in the Euro union as it is now. Not happy at what the Euro union will be like in 10 years.
  7. When i looked into leaving a property unoccupied i found for home insurance to still be valid, its just a perodical visit is required. Which means ,well depends on your policy wording but unless there are special requirements for unoccupied homes in your policy, its just a visit every month,to carry out security and maintenance checks. check doors/windows locked,no visable water damage/water is turned off at mains stop **** etc.Keep a list of what you do dated. In the event of an insurance claim you would need to prove you visited the property on a regular basis,so when you visit buy a carton of milk and a snack from a shop as close to the unoccupied house, keep the receipt and pay with your debit card, this is then your record of visiting. Just to add, when I sold my last property it was unoccupied and cleared of furniture for a long time and during conveyancing the buyers solicitor at the very last minute kindly added a rider to the sale, rider (condition) was to withhold £10k as that I have not lived at the property for a very long time and not complied with my dutys as a house holder. So I told the buyers solicitor if you need me to prove I have complied with the dutys of a house holder, then I will increase my sales price by £15k. I had receipts as above so I would be able to prove my case. The sale went ahead at the price I wanted. Good luck.
  8. While driving I set my phone to GSM (o2) only, never had probs can make and receive calls, read texts and write texts. Same when static in an area of varying (poor) mobile reception by switching to gsm only, the phone is prevented from auto switching between 4g,3g and 2g the auto switching process sometimes cannot keep up and a call is lost. Some vehicle BT units will search for a reliable signal and if the phone is switching between 4-3-2g the vehicle unit will disconnect as no stable signal has been received. rSAP can also have issues with android phones some info here..... http://www.android-rsap.com/about.html Good luck.
  9. Plenty of high street shops can fit a new screen but if you have the tools and patience, have a go. Timpson can do it in a day but if you have it done in a shop, make sure to test the screen fully before leaving. There are always sim free refurbished phones for sale (argos ebay shop) often worth a look at. Good luck.
  10. Been with the AA for 2 years now, which is extremly unusual for me to stay with same company, mind you their renewal quote was sensible. Had to contact them couple of weeks ago re change of address. London to East Sussex and the preminum dropped by £102 which I was not expecting  and I am sure I can do better on next renewal. Car + location = £££ Good luck.
  11. Had a day with the 1.4 tsi l&k outdoor and i was very suprised how well it drove. Quiet nippy enough to cope with everything i asked from it,have an extended test drive see if you like it. Tip,treat your self buy the l&k.
  12. Dont worry the sales person will try and up sell you as many extras as they can. Was in pc-cooker&fridge-world last week and was told the following... AVG is not compatible with the pc I reserved and I need their offering.extra ££ My existing office is not transferable to new pc. so extra ££ The memory is not sufficient for my work and I need a cloud subscription, more ££ Also told the extended warranty is very useful for this laptop, more ££ Although I reserved the pc (acer) online,i was expecting it to be ready for collection but no,had to sit through a sales talk reminded me of timeshare. Walked out and went across the road to check prices in staples and it was cheaper,so bought there and no up selling talk.
  13. Fantastic car,top spec and so clean. Good luck with the sale and the reason for sale
  14. I think you have answered your own question, re down the road. Its worth a test drive, see if you like it,check the paperwork and for your mileage its ideal. Happy shopping.
  15. I would be inclined to move that car on asap, maybe the dealer could with kia's goodwill make you a decent offer for the car. Then its your choice to buy another car. But Good Luck.
  16. The yeti will be my next car (unless ernie or lotto help out). After reading lots of very useful comments on briskoda (some good some bad) I would buy one tomorrow but in l&k trim. seems a decent car
  17. Top spec can help in future resale value and the spare wheel option is so very useful (youl never know when and where you will get a puncture). Sent from "the sunshine coast". :sun: soon to be twinned with a leading stair lift company.
  18. Dealer could already be on "holiday mode" Get the (possible) defect noted on their system via email or letter and state you are aware of the new sales of goods act and you are considering returning the car. I would in email ask them is it safe to drive with the defect and if doing so will it effect a future warranty claim. Good luck.
  19. Them greenline cars can be a problem with speed humps and speed tables, had a hire car and on the pre hire inspection form the only existing damage was. "underbody panel various scrape damage" After an hour of driving that car in west London/Heathrow area and 2 speed hump scrapes,i took it back .
  20. Burnt Diesel will always produce some harmful products, That's why I drive a petrol car .
  21. Offer to buy it back and move on You have met the "google inspired legal experts" the car buyer. Good luck.
  22. The fixed cost repair has its advantages. The gas supply pressure needs to be correct, they would have measured that first thing. For a 28kw boiler the heated hot water delivery will be 11 liters per minute approx.,any more and the heat is reduced. Try turning down a hot water tap flow to half and see if heat increases. The plate heat exchanger needs to be clear,no debris/sludge in it,otherwise hot water temp will be reduced. the engineer could have whipped it out, give it a shake and see if any debris/crud falls out also he could have run mains water through it to try and dislodge debris, A very common fault. The diverter valve needs to be opening fully and not partily blocked to heat the plate heat exchanger rapidly. Also it could be letting by and allowing hot water into the radiators instead of heating the plate heat exchanger. Test by running a hot tap and feel the central heating flow pipe under the boiler approx. 450mm away from the boiler and see if it heats up and increases in temperature. Best done when central heating is cold or just warm. if your boiler has plastic thermostat knobs, sometimes the spindle that connects the knob to the pcb can snap and stays in the snapped position which could be a low setting, These are all basic faults and easy to diagnose
  23. it could be a number of faults, what is the exact model of boiler. ie vaillant a few letters/numbers. These are usually very good boilers but need experienced engineers to maintain them. vaillant have their own engineers and if your contract company cant fix it,tell them to call in vaillant. Apart from the hot water issue,Do your radiators get very hot after the heating has been for a while ?. You say it works fine on test, does the hot water get very hot on this test ?.
  24. Very interesting topic,i have also seen that absolute 80 is moving, think were showing our ages now  I have the Columbus system, just done an update and still cant get the new absolute channel but whilst doing the update my radio now has SDL national (dab) what ever that is. But absolute new in there on the sdl very poor reception and cuts out every 20 seconds in East sussex. The update was done in Eastbourne and now I can hear sussex gold also dab so still happy. file:///C:/Users/aceracer/Downloads/A7_Octavia_Bolero_InfotainmentRadio.pdf see page 12 at top right. station finding. It may help but do the station scan in a known good reception area. Good luck.
  25. As what Penpusher said,Best check your insurance policy re columbus claims,i would suspect this would need to be replaced by a dealer,so the dealer will add a few more ££'s Security cover https://www.procartuning.eu/navilock-skoda-octavia-1z0-incl-inbouw.html
