  1. I've now done 1678 miles in my tsi dsg at an average of................................29.4mpg. Longer journey in a week or 2 so will see if it's any better then. Wouldn't swap it for a diesel though. Soooooooooooooo smooth and quiet. Maybe a bit too quiet for a sporty car?
  2. Mine doesn't beep it just tries to fight with me. As a Police trained driver I only indicate if there is someone there to benefit from it. This isn't good with lane keep assist. I leave the stop start on as it doesn't bother me at all but the lane keep gets turned off every time.
  3. I had a moon white Kodiaq and you could definitely tell it was a metallic.
  4. I've had mine now for around 2 months and 1400miles. The ride is actually far better than I was expecting and that's coming from a Kodiaq which was also on 19s but obviously far more sidewall. Road noise is more of an issue than I thought but it's not unbearable. My infotainment although not perfect isn't doing anything mega and certainly nothing at this time that would make me even contact the dealer. My one main gripe with the car is the bloody awful fake noise it plays in anything other than eco mode. I set individual mode for all sport settings but noise off. Oh, and the lane keep assist is a pain. Other than that I absolutely love the thing, can't stop washing it.
  5. My March registered vRS is not too bad. Don't use the factory satnav so only problems I have are the aircon not remembering settings and intermittent adaptive cruise refusing to overtake on the right.
  6. You can. I did it but when I took the dog out for a walk and passed the car it unlocked. I know it would re lock but it was a pain and as you still have to grab the handle to open the door it's pointless.I turned it off again.
  7. 2 X usb-c in the centre console. Why can't you use them?
  8. The latest keys 'go to sleep' if not moved for a short time and the repeater method cannot be used to unlock and steal your car. Won't stop them if they really want it but kessy won't be your problem.
  9. Good luck with that one then. Bentley? VAG. Jag LR Indian owned. Vauxhall owned by the French. Morgan it is then.
  10. Have you tried just moving the stalk?
  11. I've just fitted Thule wingbar edge to my estate and they're obviously different. Mine were 86cm + 86cm + 7206 foot pack + 6096 fitting kit. Fit great but the instructions could be better. I have square bars too which were fine on my Kodiaq but couldn't bring myself to fit them to my vRS.
  12. I've had my petrol vRS estate a little over a month now and done just short of 700 miles. Would I buy it again? Most definitely yes. Some little niggles with the electronics but I turn the lane assist off every trip, not a one button job but only 2 so not really a hardship. I have individual mode set with most sport settings but the bloody awful noise switched off. If it only activated in sport mode then maybe but not normal mode please. Climate NEVER saves the settings, even if it's just sync it forgets there's always something. The climate has also crashed once and refused to do anything. It even lost the icons from the screen. One reboot after a reverse (reverse cam fitted) but it did it quickly. Other than that i'm really happy, it's pleasantly comfortable for a 'sporty' car, certainly shifts when prodded and looks ace in race blue. More annoying to me is that aftermarket suppliers for hatch bags and dog guards appear to have ignored the car and have no products ready.
  13. I've had 2 and they've been almost faultless.
  14. Which tyres does yours have? Mine is on Goodyears.
  15. It's a thread for pictures of the iv model.
  16. Oooops. Teach me to read things properly won't it. Now where is the red faced emoji?????
  17. Race blue petrol dsg with reverse camera. Collected last Wednesday.
  18. I ordered an car that was already built at the start of March but only collected the car last Wednesday due to delays in shipping!! When I collected the car they told me it was a 'rare' car. I was a little confused so they explained if I ordered the same car that day I would be looking at delivery Feb/March 2022 due to shortages as above. I would have liked a 4X4 but wanted a petrol so it wasn't an option.
  19. On my vRS when I switch the car off the touch screen display gives you the option to disable interior monitoring. Might be easier than the 2 press trick?
  20. I've had my vRS estate almost a week now and am becoming more frustrated as I try to get boot protection from my dog. I've swapped from a Kodiaq for which I had a hatchbag and a travall dog guard to stop my Giant Schnauzer pup from climbing through to the back seats. Neither of those companies, or any others it appears, do products for the mk4 Octavia. Had anyone found anything designed for this model as I don't really want to go the cheap 'one size fits all' Halfords dog guard route. Many thanks.
  21. I got the impression a manual might arrive quite a bit quicker than a dsg.
  22. Ordered a built car beginning of March and collected it today. vRS tsi dsg estate in race blue with reverse cam. They told me it was a rare car because if I factory ordered the same car today it wouldn't arrive before Jan/Feb next year. Not sure how true this is but they appeared serious. Apparently the manual isn't quite as long a wait. Only driven it about 20 miles so far but absolutely love the thing.
  23. Collected my vRS estate this morning and absolutely love it so far.....however..... I bought a mini usc to usb-c cable to utilise the port in the mirror housing for my dashcam a 10" cable. This would have been great in a left hand drive car or if they could have been bothered to swap sides for a right hand drive but it's too bl88dy short. I don't want a 3' long cable and 10" is too short so has anyone found a cable that does the job and any links please. Many thanks.
  24. If you're used to French build quality and reliability Skoda shouldn't be a problem.
  25. Just had a message from the dealer. The car has now landed in the country. Shouldn't be long now................
