The Fabled March 31st fix all
GreenlineIIEstate replied to Greezy56's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
Just got a new Sportage for the wife. Very very impressed. Top spec gt-line S and it's got the lot. 7 Year warranty too, what's not to like? If I thought I could get one i'd swap my vRS for an EV6 in an instant. -
Adaptive Cruise Control bug
GreenlineIIEstate replied to Dave2318's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
They pull the engine cover off. No replacement available yet so they just pull it off and leave it. They 'claim' there will be a replacement at some point but I for one won't be holding my breath. I almost love my vRS but I think this will be my last VAG group car as they appear to release cars with many and varied faults and then seem incapable or unwilling to fix them. We just bought a brand new Kia Sportage for the wife. Bags more tech (which all appears to work) and a 7 year warranty. -
vRS Engine Cover Recall

Just checked and my car, 11 months old is affected. -
Great on the motorway…
GreenlineIIEstate replied to MiniNinjaRob's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
Good for you. Many others do have an issue with it and it's bloody dangerous. It's incredible that a company as huge VAG Group seem unable to get their cars to work properly. If i'd paid £30k for a telly or even £3k and it tried to kill me i'd be less than impressed. If you are a lucky one without the ACC problem you can't appreciate the safety issues when you go for a overtake and the car slaps the anchors on at 70+ mph. It isn't pleasant. -

You're doing well if your cruise worked properly as there's a known fault with it that so far doesn't have a fix. Mine works fine now and then, and other times it assumes a European stance and refuses to overtake. -
Octavia iV Price Increases 2021
GreenlineIIEstate replied to Gazria's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
I feel the dealer isn't at fault here. The Govt say if list price over £40k it's in the higher group. Totally irrelevant what you actually paid i'm afraid. -
Roof bars - what do you have?
GreenlineIIEstate replied to MiniNinjaRob's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
Nope. Taken mine off and back on a few times now and no problems. -

I have the wingbar edges and literally can't tell when they're on the roof. No noise at all. -

Octavia suspension issues
GreenlineIIEstate replied to Mk5tsi150's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
I have a petrol vRS without DCC and the ride is fine. Reasonably compliant and quiet. No complaints and that's on the standard 19" wheels. -
Is it brand new? If so, why you using a cable. Mine has wireless android auto and crapple carplay.

I got my vRS end of March last year. A race blue dsg petrol estate. It's had most of the 'character' software gremlins in that time. Would I buy the same car now? Probably not as i'd go for an Enyaq however, if I could have the Octavia now or a 12 month wait to save the planet i'd take the vRS. I love it.

Mine was in a few weeks back and since then it's been faultless. Probably completely spew it's guts in the morning now though. 😁 The only thing that they didn't fix and they told me there isn't one yet was the adaptive cruise fault so will need to go back for that. I still love the car though and have spent a bloody fortune recently on cleaning stuff so that confirms it. Race blue ftw. I'm a 61 year old professional moaner but can't see me swapping this car for a while yet.

Changing parts on a new car

Not in the UK it doesn't. I stand to be corrected but I couldn't find it. -
Changing parts on a new car
GreenlineIIEstate replied to beecoh's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
The black/chrome is something that is normally model specific. I can't ever remember with the Octavia seeing the option to change these things and there is and as far as I remember only one interior available, no option to choose any other colours. -
ACC Braking when overtaking
GreenlineIIEstate replied to matrix2020's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
VAG say there is currently NO fix for the adaptive cruise problem. Mine has been in recently for all the available updates but nothing for the cruise. First motorway journey after updates it braked for EVERY car I tried to pass on the return journey NONE. It's much worse being inconsistent as you never know which way it's going to go. -
Doesn't appear to be available for the Octavia.
-
Mine has just had 2 and a half days back with the dealer for updates and this is where I am now. Apparently some cars won't accept software version 1810. Mine was registered at the end of March. Only driven it home from the dealers so far so no updates as to any issues being resolved.

Turning auto door lock off

Serious question, why would you want to? -
Says Meteor grey or as it's better known, primer. 🤣
