  1. 2015 220 TSi DSG here. I used to do a cross country 20 mile commute which saw me easily get 38-41mpg and on average 400-420 miles a tank with a 38mpg long term average. My commute is now 3 miles at 40mph and a lot of short distances running kids about. I'm now getting 280-320 a tank and long term average has dropped to 31mpg. Having recently been on a long run (and back), 90 mins at 70mph I saw 42mpg and 39mpg. With 200 miles down I'm showing 250 left in range which would put me back to my old 400 odd miles a tank. From what you've posted I'd say it's about right. On a summer holiday last year winding across the a47 and a17 at 50mph, fully loaded after nearly 3 hrs I saw 49mpg.
  2. From previous readings people have mentioned fuel line vibration?
  3. There is a waiting area but no seats now (I'm sure there weren't any when I went 4 weeks ago) following on from covid. I've never waited, just left mine for the day.
  4. Clive does indeed have Odis, im fairly sure the sevicing hes done will come up on a skoda dealer print out. There is a car marked up as courtesy car, a little Dacia I think. I've not used it as I don't live far out the city so the bike gets put in the car and I cycle home.
  5. Likewise just seen this. I fell out of love with Robinsons so now use Clive Attowe on Salhouse Road. Whilst I'd love my bills to be cheaper I can't fault their workmanship and honesty. I've been using them for 3 years now
  6. If still available I'll be interested in purchasing @CookieMonster87
  7. This may help, there is a DRL module on each headlight. Have a read, the OP posts an outcome with part numbers. Your'll thanking your lucky stars it's the right side
  8. I had to manually switch to right but once back I tried to switch manually and it kept saying function not available and remained on right side traffic. A few junctions up the M20 and it had auto switched to left hand traffic (2015 Xenon)
  9. 2015 Vrs 220 DSG. Original 18 mile commute on steady B roads with national limits saw anywhere between 37-41mpg. I now do a 9 mile duel carriageway stint and I'm seeing 32-35mpg. Family trips fully loaded and a steady 70 see between 40-42mpg. Best ever is 44mpg
  10. There is the Alpine option. However it's for Alpine's own unit (with apple/android carplay). About £1000 for the unit https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-alpine-car-audio-i902d-oc3_p-40371.htm and extra £300 for the interface. https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-alpine-car-audio-apf-h100dy_p-42267.htm I suspect its worth going down the oem route at that cost even if you have to purchase an MIB2 canton amp (if you have MIB1 to begin with)
  11. Smartlink was only available with MIB2 units. Generally accepted that these were made from build dates mid 2015. (Week 22 / May 2015) If its a 15 plate it will be MIB1, 65 plate generally MIB2 but there will be some exceptions due to registration dates. To have it activated is usually dealer only and back in 2018 the figure of £125 was the norm. I'm sure I've seen companies other than dealers offering activation.
  12. I can only third the above. Wanted a manual but could not find one [VRS] with the spec I wanted, I did find a DSG so bought it, 4 years ago. Not looked back, it's been faultless. Wife was unsure at first but now she would love one. It's just finding something sensibly priced in these times. I wouldn't go back to manual now, a convert for sure.
  13. 220 2015 vrs with 67K here. For 2 years I've been regularly topping the coolant up. It will always sit a few mm below the minimum never go lower and always ran spot on. Top it up and it might stay up for a fortnight or a month or longer but always come back to the same spot below the minimum. Last year upon service they could not see any staining, this year they could, with what's visible without removing anything. I've just paid £837 at a VAG specialist. I was quoted £720 odd last year after the service when I discussed loosing coolant. I was told that they can go on for a bit or suddenly just dump everything on the drive on start up, or when driving. I'd run with my luck for as long as I fancied. When they showed me the old pump I could see various points where it was leaking and had stained screw heads. Ultimately we're either both being done over or it's about right for Joe Blogg public without mates rates or a Sunday side job rate.
  14. I wedge an 8" tablet between the two front seats, you can angle it slightly to one side if must but usually there's two watching. The other option is string. Tie a loop around the seat so it rest where the back of the seat gets wider. Then the tablet sits in a fold over case. Fold the case over the string. Naturally this is for a tablet, if its an actual dvd player it may not work
  15. I've had warranty work completed on the car oyself and I've never had the aircon serviced/looked at in line with Skoda. When I rang up to say I had an aircon problem and need it looked at I said the car was under warranty. They came back at me and stated the car had never had any of its Skoda checks heavily indicating that any warranty work on the aircon would not be covered as I had not kept up with the skoda [aircon] servicing. Turned out to be user error so no issues.
  16. 5Q4959592E 5Q4959593E One near side one offside door controller. As for the actual mirrors, no idea. Below is a monster thread but it does have details of the retro fit. From memory around page 30-40 I think for the mirrors. Could be completely wrong. I, not any other Briskodian, accept any responsibility for lack of funds upon reading the below thread.
  17. 2x folding mirrors, some come with puddle lamps some don't. I think 9 wire is folding and puddle lamps 2x new door controllers, same code as what you have but they end in 592/593 (from memory). They are the highline spec. A scan of your car will tell you what controllers you have, 99% sure these will be 392/393. Then code them to car for key fob folding on lock/unlock. There is a guide by Sacha grace on here from her Ovtavia build thread
  18. Same car and sometime need to do this. 6yr old uses a graco junior (booster with back) seams to fit well enough. It's a spare seat, the isofix ones we use don't fit as the bases are to big. The Graci we have is about 8yrs old but from pics the design appears the same.
  19. You've done it now, but I can only add that I changed from PS4 to ASY5 recently. Both are brilliant tyres and I don't regret the change. It was all down to price (£70 for set of 4) and for me I would not be able to find/exploit any minute difference official testers find during the group tyre tests you find. The ASY5 are a perfect all rounder. I've ran ASY2 & 3 before, were excellent all year round as the 5's are proving to be.
  20. Do you flood rinse the car after rinsing off? I find this the best way, with a good coating, the amount of panel you have to dry reduces considerably.
  21. Second vouch here. Had it not been for the near £90 difference for a set of 4 I would have stuck with the PS4's instead went for GYA5. I'm impressed with the 5's having had a set of the GYA3's on my old Leon. I would say the PS4's are harder walled and over a better turn in. That said 99% of the time the pair are equal in performance for me. The Michelins would edge it when using that last 5% of performance which ultimately for me would be on a track not a road. (PS4's being multiples of the PS4 and not the PS4S)
  22. @bigman1976I was going to say gloss levels were amazing looking at the first post but certainly up'd it again with the Sigma. Awesome work. Funny how many in this thread mention kids! I think Can Coat is brilliant for gloss but like you I did end up missing a few spots when removing. I used this to top mine up before I re-did it recently. I've split the wife's Qashqai into three sessions so far. One more to go, makes it easier on back and shoulders too!
  23. Couple from an A6 I did a few years back.
  24. There's no harm in doing a section/panel at a time. I plan on doing the wife's car like this. I'll wash as normal and decon say the offside doors and front wing, clay then polish and protect. Only advice I would give is on doing the next panels (a week or two later) be sure to tape the edge of the panel you did previously. More manageable this way.
