@caoimhinoc if you already have MIB2 Columbus then it makes sense to have it upgraded to MIB2.5 as @ChrisCh mentioned.

maybe there is but it would definitely help if you let us know exact model number and current SW version of your infotainment unit...

MY15 unit support MirrorLink only (no support for SmartLink). SImplified Bolero units do not support rear view camera and voice command. Simplified Bolero, Bolero and Amundsen MY15 and MY16 have old style (rotating, monochrome) menu, with only 1 skin having 5 memory buttons in radio and phone menu. They don't support for APP key in 8 inch FL screens. Simplified Bolero, Bolero and Amundsen MY17 have old style (rotating, monochrome) menu, with 2 skins having 5 or 6 memory buttons in radio and phone menu. It may also support Media Command (depending on FEC.SWaP codes installed). Simplified Bolero, Bolero and Amundsen MY18 has both old style (rotating, monochrome) and new style (pictures, color) menu, with 2 skins having 5 or 6 memory buttons in radio and phone menu. It may also support Media Command (depending on FEC. SWaP codes installed). Columbus units have built-in DVD drive and HDD for maps and audio / video files. Only Columbus units can play video files from USB/CD/DVD/SD. Every MIB2 Columbus unit can be reworked into MIB2.5 unit if required. MIB2.5 Columbus requires new 9.2" screen 5E0919606D. Every Columbus unit can drive directly subwoofer and central speaker (although this setup is not officially supported by Skoda). "x" at the end of Columbus units model number is letter A/B/C/D. Can also be missing. It makes no difference, just indicates original SW release family. Every of listed above units can be reworked into Plug&Play version (no need to visit SKODA dealer).

As some of you have probably realized I'm crazy about converting factory radio / navigation into Android tablet. To be more detailed: in adding Android tablet functionality into factory radio / navigation system. First time I made in in my Superb II MY12 with Columbus. Second time I added this feature to Bolero in my Fabia III. And now I have adopted Amundsen MIB STD2 infotainment system (from new Yeti) to be used in the same Superb (I was a bit tired with Columbus) and equipped wit with Android 4.4.4 module. Disadvantage 1 - you have to change gateway (as this system has address 5F which cannot be coded in old gateway) Disadvantage 2 - you have to find somebody who will take care of Component Protection which is not so common yet Disadvantage 3 - you have to buy SD card with maps (goodbye old good days of updating maps at no cost in Columbus) Disadvantage 4 - no climatronic visualisation Disadvantage 5 - no CD/DVD reader Advantage 1 - something new in the old car Advantage 2 - it has built-in bluetooth Advantage 3 - reverse camera can be connected without any adapters Advantage 4 - you can probably activate and use MirrorLink/AndroidAuto (probably as I have not checked it yet) And it's way easier to extend it with Android table funcionality comparing to old Columbus. I will post some pictures and videos next week.
