  1. Because both Felicia 1.6 and Felicia 1.9 engines have self adjusting valves clearance by using hydraulic tappets? 😎
  2. Try to reset the ECU first. Disconnect the battery for 1/2 hour, both negative and positive. Touch the disconnected battery cables a few seconds to discharge any capacitor remnant charge. Connect battery cables. Test drive.
  3. Keep us posted about the cause of oil pressure drop so that other users learn from your experience.
  4. Isn't it obvious? It's one of those "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" situation. No play before, play after. Logic tells me to compare the new "original" part with the old one. Flange and seal.
  5. Did you feel the diagonal movement BEFORE changing the seal? Or AFTER?
  6. First let us establish some things. We are talking about a 1.6 l engine type AEE. Skoda Felicia MK2 started production on 1998 January 1st. Now, what do you call "an intermediate shaft" ? The camshaft? Photos would help.
  7. @SaltySkoda Start simple. Disregard panic mode advice if the engine had good maintenance.
  8. I agree with Wino. It could be oil starvation rather than low oil pressure. On the other hand, since the issue shows up in extreme hot weather, I would replace the thermostat and the radiator fan thermocontact wih slightly lower temperature ones (like for tropical countries Felicia). You know, back 20 years ago, when winter was winter and nobody played God with the weather, Felicia didn't need such modifications in Europe. But now... I assume the engine maintenance was OK during its life, right? PS As for the Plastigauge question, read their recommendation.
  9. The lesson that should be learned from this event is "FIRST remove negative battery cable when you work on the electrical system of the car".
  10. https://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/1993_Skoda_Favorit_L_1.3L_4_Cyl./check_engine_light/diagnose Click on 2. Locate OBD Port to the right.
  11. Your description is not enough for a proper answer. A diagnosis involves checking several things: - Checking and adjusting start of delivery of injection pump - Checking engine timing - Testing and adjusting idling speed, boost idling speed and governed speed - Servicing injectors - Testing condition of spray pintle of injection nozzles, ejection pressure and leaktightness - Testing potentiometer for load signal - Testing start of injection valve
  12. You can't do a cheap DIY when it comes to paint or lacquer. The entire body part should be resprayed following careful preparation steps. Anything else will not blend but will stick out like a sore eye.
  13. RicardoM replied to Malch0's topic in Skoda Yeti
I doubt very much that nothing was found.
  14. No. It is all about faulty measuring of the intake manifold pressure either because of a bad sensor or because of a vacuum leak. See photos below to understand what is all about.
  15. I doubt the sensor is 'too slow' but for sure it gets contaminated or it is out of specifications. The MAP is mounted on the intake manifold. Any device mounted on the intake manifold using a gasket or the gasket of the intake manifold itself should be checked for leaks or better replaced.
  16. No, they don't. Start by checking the fuel sender, then fuel sender connector, then wiring from fuel sender to dashboard, then dashboard itself.
  17. That is the port for testing emissions.
  18. One month ago you suddenly felt the unneeded urge to reply to a 5 year old post without having a basic understanding of PCV. I will not bother myself answering to your innuendo. You don't want to learn anything. You just want to stir trouble.
  19. The alternator is charging a variable current on a regulated voltage. Normal voltage on battery should be 13.5 V - 14 V without electrical loads at idle. Check first for proper contact on battery ground cable, alternator housing contact to ground, positive alternator cable contact to battery positive plot. Maximum voltage drop on any contact should be around 0.1 V under load. If there are no contact issues, replace the voltage regulator. If still no luck, the alternator has an internal issue.
  20. No rust on back wheel arches and rear door in Finland? Did they keep it in the living room?
  21. I don't have to be modest when it comes to my work as a result of my passion for Skoda Felicia. Why should I? I am the only one who has written a detailed document about cleaning, repairing, and setting the Pierburg 2E3 / Jikov 28-30 LEKR carburetor. I am the only one who has reverse engineered the dashboard of all types of Felicia. And so on...
  22. 1) I replied exactly to what you asked. 2) You have now the part number of the sunroof. Should i order it for you?
