  1. On these later cars with the Digital Service System, what is required and desired can be printed out as a job sheet by the dealer or an independant garage which is registered with erWin for DSS access.
  2. I live about quarter of a mile from a roundabout on the A610 where it changes from SPECS controlled 30 to a so called 40 dual carriageway which was national speed limit and after a set of lights, the local ****s on two or four wheels use it as a drag stip as there are no side roads and speed traps are visible from a mile, in summer I can't have my rear windows open without being deafened and there are two thick rows of trees and a dirty great hotel to deflect the noise. When I walk down there at the weekend to get a paper, you nearly need ear defenders and the emergency vehicle sirens drive you mad in the specs area, one a minute. What these ****s don't realise is they are becoming the reason for their own demise, because they are pushing the limits, the law is cracking down but they are just too stupid to know or too ignorant to care.
  3. I would suspect it is supporting a loose heat shield and the mechanic didn't think it through.
  4. It is in the exhaust manifold before the turbo accessed from above.
  5. 01348 (P0544)- Sensor 1 for Exhaust Temp Bank 1 (G235) - Circuit Malfunction This is the EGT sensor in the exhaust manifold at the turbine inlet, VAG part number 03P 906 088 A and retailing at £179.23 at a Skoda main dealer. These are available aftermarket from reputable companies such as Bosch, VDO, Hella, NGK, Pierburg etc and a common failure.
  6. What is the cars VIN or private message me the reg?
  7. We will only fit genuine VDO from ECP (for the four cylinder, the 3 cylinder is Delphi and even genuine VW ones can fail immediately), they have over 10000 in stock which is in excess of £6m retail, no company in their right mind put that much into stock if they are not going to shift them quick.
  8. Spotted this developing on a Yeti with a CAYC last week when doing the fuel filter and he immediately rebooked for a new pump before further failure as he has read about this and understood.
  9. 1 hour minimum charge, straight across the entire service industry from plumbers to lawyers and everyone accepts it except when it's us grease monkey's doing it and all we get is "your ripping me off", just because we are motor trade!
  10. No AMM/MAF or MAP but it does have an Inlet Air Temp Sender G72 and a Fuel Temperature Sensor G81 and the G81 can give incorrect readings, does the MVB value make sense?
  11. These are a very troublesome engines with injectors and the EGR unit being a very common problem, get the engine ECU code read and if nothing comes up, ask for deeper analysis of the EGR system and injector balances.
  12. That will be the CJZC or D engine, these have a toothed belt for the pump. These should be checked during inspection services and the official change interval 120000Km as is the cam belt change, the exact wording cut and pasted from ELSA being Coolant pump timing belt: Replace Applies to all petrol engines with toothed belt for coolant pump Every 120,000 km Toothed belt and tensioner pulley for camshaft drive: Replace Applies to all petrol and diesel engines with timing belts --- Every 120,000 km Every 120,000 km there is no age change point listed by VAG Germany for ANY petrol or Diesel engine with a cam belt, this up to 2009 four years and 2010 onwards five years is a figment of VAG UK's profit enhancing imagination; the trouble is we have to stick to it as we recommended otherwise and one did fail, we would look stupid. This is copied and pasted from Elsa ( a bit edited as well) where it contradicts the previous info Intervals for CHANGING THE TIMING BELT and TENSIONER PULLEY TDI Common Rail CUSA, CUSB, CUTA, CYZA, CYZB Every 210,000 km Every 120,000 km Applies only to diesel operated in dusty countries. petrol engines 1.0L SRE 1.0L TSI 1.2L TSI 1.4L TSI 1.6L SRE CHYA, CHYB CHZB, CHZC CJZC, CJZD CZEA CWVB No prescribed change interval, Toothed belt drive with test interval, see "Further time- or mileage-dependent additional work"
  13. All EA888 engines seem to do that.
  14. I looked it up on ETKA, I am a VAG specilsist. They are beam deflectors and are specific to right hand drive Octavia NX and NN but confusingly have a 5E part number prefix, on an ETKA search they are only used on the NX and NN
  15. The Skoda mask kit is 5E3 941 981 A and costs £20.24
  16. Yes, I had to take another rack on my account whilst the other one went back to Germany about about 3 months later received a credit but no explanation, not a word of apology or an offer the cover the expenses of replacement... not great service; ever since Bosch took over ZF Lenk system the backup service has disappeared. It is a purely hydraulic rack so I have no idea what had been assembled incorrectly inside at least I hope it was incorrect assembly as if that could randomly happen there are a lot of Golf 4's, Octavia 1U etc on the PQ34 platform out there with a potentially lethal fault.
  17. Might be.... 😁
  18. Powerflex offer their PFF85-501G front bush which is adjustable, I am not sure if I am allowed to post a link to my own eBay page? They are a little fiddly to use but very effective.
  19. I have to admit I and probably most mechanics in the UK have little or zero experience with E85, we have only just got E10 and that is already causing some odd issues with the fuel trim window being exceeded by 10% and causing an error. When you are back on E10 (I assume) I will be able to help better.
  20. 16555 (P0171) - Fuel Trim; Bank 1: System Too Lean Can the modification be taken out of circuit?
  21. Last year I fitted a brand new (although still exchange) ZF K S01 001 000 from Bosch equivalent to the revised VAG number 1J2 422 063 M which was £900 + VAT trade When I started it up it did this
  22. Good battery then

  24. My 2003 VRS estate came with factory nav Pr-7Q2, TMC traffic module Pr-PNA and the Multi-function display/trip computer with check control (aka maxi dot screen) and Pr-9Q2 which is still listed as being available under part number 1U0 920 941 C KD0 but is £1250.11. Mine occasionally has a fit and goes all left hand drive and metric on me but resets itself by the next time you start it.
