  2. What is the fault code when it goes into limp?
  3. Vile pariah nation https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63280519
  4. The cover assembly is part number 03L 103 469 R and £222.83 from a Skoda dealer or TPS plus you would need two injector bolts WHT 003 187 and it is a good idea to replace the injector seals WHT 000 884 and fire rings 03L 130 519 when you disturb them.
  5. The Haldex it’s comes with the controller under part number 0CQ 525 554 T and is £2552.53 retail inc. VAT. The debris that collects on the strainer can be present at as little as 20k miles, the one below was on a 20k Golf 7 R. What is odd is that I often see it in brand new genuine fluid to the extent we use a paint strainer to get it out, it looks like a plastic bag which has been in a blender or Gorilla snot as one of my techs called it.
  6. PCV valve inside the cover
  7. It can be tuned off in the Long Coding menu using VCDS or similar, it is not allowed to be permanently deactivated by the user under the emissions regulations the car was certified.
  8. I have lost track of who hates, disagrees, agrees, understands and ignores who. My initial post didn’t differentiate between EV’s and ICE’s, just the inner feeling of buying something you can buy from elsewhere from a country which is an international pariah but continues to get away with it because the west depends on their goods. An inappropriate part of me would like them to attack Taiwan because it would be a disaster for them but also unfortunately for the rest of humanity.
  9. This is the reason I stopped coming on this forum, poisonous attitude.
  10. If I answered all your questions to the finest detail you would already have prepared replies so what is the point? You can't argue with an evangelist, it's a waste of time but easily replaced, come on!
  11. As I said, you have answers for everything, grid capacity is a well documented worry. I haven't questioned EV safety, that is words put into my mouth and as for reliability, I never went there. I think the modern expresion is "triggered". I don't have a problem with people buying EV's if they want to (except from China) what I object to is the forthcoming ban on ICE's that says you have to if you buy new and that is simple wrong and undemocratic. Anyway when China invades Taiwan and the world slaps sanctions on China and you have an MG that needs spares...
  12. You two chaps are EV evangelistis so whatever an ICE evangelist like myself says, you will already have an answer ready to counter my response, even to questions I have not even asked; the only proof will be time. EV fires are rarer by percentage (you had that answer ready when I hadn't even specifically mentioned the subject) but these cars are all virtually brand new, what will they be like when they are 20 years old and bodged like many 20 year old ICE cars are now? BUT it is not specifically the dangers I see as being their failing, there are so many downsides I don't really know where to start but IF manufacturers eventually make the perfect EV with absolutely no downsides that even I could think of (apart from being too quiet) and the charging infrastructure was in place, it still does not answer the question of where the power will come from, we are already on a brown out knife edge and now we find out that our largest "green" power source is a complete con The green energy scandal exposed
  13. Removing glow plugs is a butt clenching experience, especially externally mounted ones, the Audi V6 CR TDI is especially nasty, often all six snap. When they do snap w have a specialist engineer come out and remove them.
  14. There is nothing wrong with the ICE, a 150 year old technology that had been perfected but has now evolved into a monosity due to stupid legislation caused by a minority group of moronic shouty mouthy eco nutters. I have no problem with producing electricity without using fossil fuels but that electricity could be used to produce synthetic fuel which could be initially blended with Bio and fossil fuels; this blend could be distributed, stored, dispensed and used in the technology and infrastructure we already have rather than sent into a 1 tonne chemical bomb under the floor via a network we don't yet have. I hope I live long enough to see EV's become the disaster I am convinced they will be. I assume my PC is made China BUT we don't have a choice whereas with cars we do have a choice. China is a pariah state and I do my best to avoid buying anything from there as much as possible.
  15. Very environmentally responsible company... https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001cw6z/panorama-the-green-energy-scandal-exposed
  16. How anyone can buy a Chinese car with a clean conscience eludes me...
  17. If you use concentrated G12 Evo, use distilled water, not tap water. TPS sell Quantum "Mixing water"
  18. You don't need VCDS for a basic fluid change (a pressure bleeder is very handy as pedal pumping is not ideal) only if air gets into the MC or pump. The "adjustment" is a bad translation, it means you must trigger the ABS by hard braking IN A SAFE place!
  19. Either Boge/Sachs (same thing) or made in house by VAG at their Braunschweig plant, it should say on the original. In some instances Monroe were OE but they do not list that damper so it is unlikely.
  20. If I don’t learn something new every day, that is a day wasted.
  21. VCDS may help you code some of those out but possibly not the headlights. You do realise that all those bulbs are illegal and an MOT failure? I disagree with this to a certain extent as I have to run LED number plate light as I always drive with sidelights on and incandescent bulbs damage the rubber gasket when used like that in a 1U number plate light holder.
  22. The 228mm clutch has a solid flywheel, the odd thing is if it was four wheel drive or DSG, it would have a DMF.
  23. Don’t knock it, the method works on cars as well…😄
  24. If it was the loom it would come up as cylinder 1, injector 1, electrical malfunction, not just a simple misfire. Do you get a “thud thud thud” beat in the air intake system?
