  1. They are behind the rear bumper in each side panel so bumper cover off, they are the cabin air exhaust vents... the similar part causes trouble on the Golf 7
  2. Yes the centre part number is the odd bit as a relay would be typically 951 and starting with a zero is accessories, infotainment, misc. Interesting.
  3. That relay is for the navigations system? Tell me more.
  4. The side vents behind the rear bumper are a terrible fit and well known for letting in water, we use Butyl rubber cord to make them seal.
  5. The only way I know of that MAY be able to obtain the PIN was I think called CAN Commander or something like that but the equipment is daft money, thousands. The way it is done officially now is completely automatic and invisible to the operator on line to Germany. The main tool is ODIS and you then have to obtain GEKO security clearance which is an arduous process involving criminal records check, passport, professional letters of reference etc and you need a genuine VAS 6154 (about £1k), denet laptop and using the service costs €10 an hour.
  6. The CAYC engine, an absolute joke. The last time I checked Euro Car Part had nearly 9000 new VDO injectors in stock, that is millions of pounds of stock on one item for one engine model, utter crap.
  7. "constipated electric noise"... nope new one to me, it would be more uummrggh... It could be the alternator pulley or the belt, if the belt fails like I saw on an A1 2L TDI last week, it can easily get pulled into the timing belt area and whoolop, end of car.
  8. Ohh there are far bigger ones, climate change, religion, life after death to name three...
  9. It’s a bit early but what the hell, bad day and “it’s five o’clock somewhere”
  10. We did a 1.4 with ACT in a customers Leon last week and on the way home the turbo failed, thankfully the customer did know the turbo was on its way but if he hadn’t known this… try explaining that one to someone (a paying customer) who knows nothing about cars!
  11. Crasher replied to Meyannos's topic in Skoda Yeti
We now push to do filter/fluid in Gen4 and especially fluid/screen clean in Gen5 every 20,000 miles; even then the screens are blocked with plastic snot.
  12. We had a 2013 A1 in two weeks ago with the similar EA189 (it is still sitting on the road outside) and the poly V belt lost a groove which went inside the belt cover and caused the belt to jump about 10 teeth. The owner said try a new belt and my reply was that due to the way the valves sit directly overhead and in line with the piston, when valves and pistons hit the damage to the valve gear is usually catastrophic and a new belt would be money down the drain… dead car.
  13. Or the tensioner stud has failed
  14. We will only fit either genuine VAG exchange units or brand new VDO of which Euro Car Parts had 8000+ of in stock last time I checked.
  15. A decent high flow cat is also required, APR have stopped selling their stage 2 systems as they don’t fit in with the parent companies environmentally conscious agenda.
  16. I did a customers 87 Audi Coupe GT with £2k worth of Dynamatt and liner, the car was 20-mm lower after...😁
  17. And how are they going to enforce it? There are already red light cameras but do these allow cyclists to be prosecuted for running red lights? Keep death off the roads, MAKE cyclists use the pavement! The worst offenders are these fast food riders on electric bikes, I clocked a Just Eat rider doing 40mph in a 30 the other day but had to back off for a speed camera and he just sailed on.
  18. A VERY major issue across the VAG range with the CAYB/C engine, Euro Car Parts have 8699 new VDO units in stock (last time I looked it was nearly 10000), that is over £5m of injectors at retail prices sitting in stock just in the UK. The later versions from Delphi and Bosch they have only handfuls in stock.
  19. Quite likely to be the turbo actuator or wastegate pivot, we have one in bits at the moment on a Leon.
  20. We didn't have any issues, the front bump stops came with the Eibach kit and the shorter rear bump stops are the factory Pr 1JC lowering kit parts, 112mm instead of 127mm, 5Q0 511 357 J.
  21. Yes same dampers, did you fit shortened rear bump stops?
  22. Eibach and Koni
  23. We are just doing Koni's and Eibach on an estate.
  24. What is the cars VIN so I can see which key you have?
