Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Hello all, I've just found the below message in one of "Skoda software versions" threads from German forum: The car dealership had just offered a colleague a software update to 1948... Interesting? Anyone info? He already has the 1941, so no confusion. Anyone else knows something about the new version? Ta

Fixing door seal
Hi all, Something similar happened to the front door seals, in the area of the pillars, probably because of the friction with the trousers pockets. In first place I thought that I'm the only one that I don't know how to get off front the car, but I also checked the passenger side where the "issue" is present too. Only 11k km on the clock, SK is so disappointing, lowering the quality. Is there a way to fix an to prevent seal completely breakage? Ta

I've received and installed the same OTA in this morning. Hopefully it will not break, again, the software!

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Same behaviour happened to me, ~ 2 days ago: at the end of the highway (A2) just before approaching the city (Bucharest), Waze did a sort of zoom in, then the infotainment suddenly rebooted. 😞 Firmware version 1941 AA version 9.8.632424 Waze version 4.95.2.0

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Plenty of for @Rainesh (who provided me the link with the firmware) and @varooom (for supporting the community with very useful informations and TPI documents). I've just installed 1941 on a friend's car, who is very busy and he didn't have time to waist it with the dealers. We(Briskoda Community) manage to bring his smile and to still love his car after this upgrade. Before this, he was very grumpy with all those sort of reboots. I do have one question: Has anybody else that installed this firmware by itself, received the following OTA update? I'm asking because I didn't receive it on my car, and I'm wondering if my dealer has disabled some on-line services! Other then above, no more reboots or any kind of issues after this weekend journeys. Keep up the good work!

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Hi all, I've just installed the 1941 firmware by my dealer (from which I both the car) a couple of hours ago. The guy that picked up my car seems to be aware of this problem (nothing surprising for him), funny thing the MIB restarted(twice) in from his eyes when he was filling the service form. Even so, he asked me about some evidence(videos/pictures) for the SK to show them. 🙃 The whole process took 3h. No reboots in the short trip(~20km) back home, but tests and statistics are still on-going. I'll update this thread after more(short and long) trips. Hopefully we get to the bottom of this issue. Good luck all, to "fix" your cars.

@TheWanderer, Some notes quickly saved at some point: File name is: MOI3_EU_VW_R9410L(1941)_3G0919360TG - with VW software train MOI3_EU_SK_R9410L MU1941.7z - with SK software train Download and extract .7z then put onto memory stick but make sure files within are the first thing on memory stick. They must not be in the folder name Make sure memory stick is FAT32 formatted and at least 16GB big. Plug into car with infotainment on and car battery plugged into charger. Then hold square home button on infotainment then click top option. Then click start software update on the red and black screen and select usb port 1 or 2 whichever usb is in then click start at bottom and leave it to run through the upgrade progress. Do not turn off car or unplug from battery charger until complete. Process will took ~20 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vveRLG9Ins Good luck if you decide to go with the update! Please let us know the final results. Cheers

Short update from my side: Today, I've been calling some dealers in my country, around my vicinity, and I can truly say that I'm very very disappointed about the VAG services. None of them was able to tell me if the MCU will receive an update or NOT, and which version it will be installed if any "available" (we all know better that the guys from the front office that the 1941firware is out of the door). They proposed the classic/standard procedure: bring the call to the dealer, the technical engineer is going to connect on-line with SK servers and proceed from there and in case of any failures the MCU will be replaced (covered by warranty). The next available slot is not early than next Thursday (so I still have time to decide if I'm planning to spent half of day in their lobby!). What surprised me: some dealers where unaware of these reboot issues with the infotainments and one the them told me that I shall must be aware that extra taxes can be applied to my invoice with the pretext of diagnostics first when I bring the car to them (I just hung up the phone when I hear that).

Hello @Ctflr, Yes, some of us are aware of those threads. Please see one of my posts, asking for advises 🧐 https://www.golfmk8.com/forums/index.php?threads/infotainment-hardware-and-software-updates.391952/post-7972639 Indeed, the Mk8 guys managed "to fix" the reboot issue by upgrading to 1941 version. The same solution was proposed here, in one or two pages behind in this thread. (from top of my head, @varooom was the one). BUT (always it's a but), this version has been released with the VW and SE(Seat) software train, and unofficially yet. I'm not aware of such release by SK. https://mibsolution.one/#/1/9/MOI3 The process to upgrade is also unclear (for me at least) - please see one of above posts with my concerns. Another issue is related to the warranty!! Is your dealer going to accept the new software version on any of the service inspections? OR they are still waiting to invalidate the MIB warranty with the pretext that you updated by yourself? RO: Numai bine! EN: All the best!

New updates from my side: 1. During the past days (including Today), I've tried different combination suggested by @Combi_NX5, but also mentioned by @SkOmk4 above. 1.1 WiFi completely turned Off on the unit side. 1.2 WiFi and BT turned off on my phone. 1.3 AA started on wired smartlink only. In 1 of 3 trips my unit still rebooted just after started my trip (car started to move). BUT, based on my tests and all the details that this great community collected, I've conducted a new theory: The reboots are not caused only by the WiFi connections, the latest OTA updates ("Error Fixes" + "Service Campaigns") have broken the software, on top of the regular heat that is comming during these days (summer is almost here!) causing sort of CPU overheating. I'm saying this, because my unit restarted 4 times in a row, last week when the car was parted in direct sunlight for a couple of hours and with AC systems completely off on first ignition start. Infotainment Software Updates For all the cars that have been delivered from the factory the SW train is: VW. If the cars has received a major update change via the dealer, the SW train will be changed to: SK. QQ: Will we be able to update our units with any kind of software afterwards? E.g. Someone with SW version MOI3_EU_SK_R8960L(1896) can process an update directly to MOI3_EU_VW_R9410L(1941)?!

Later EDIT on my above post: I've just disabled the WiFi on the car Menu. @Combi_NX5, can you please confirm if you toggled off the same settings?Thx

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Thx @Combi_NX5 for this very useful information. One more request if it's possible to share with us: How have you turned off WiFi on the car side? Using OBD11 dongle OR from the car menu (can you give some instructions for this?)? Cheers Latest update: I've just discussed with a guy from my country a couple of hours ago, his infotainment has restarted 4 times in a row, then for the rest of his journey the screen remains completely black 😞 Finger crossed our units will not end up in the same situation!!!.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Short Update from my side: 1. I'm running the same VW train as @SkOmk4 mentioned above! 2. With the master key (associated with the Primary User), a reboot just kicked in last night on a very very short trip when I've switch parking places with my neighbour. 3. Today, I've had an ideea to use the spare key (associated with the Guest User) on a short trips for 10mins, each. No reboots, but I've been able to use the Infotainment only on the way back, because on the first trip the MIB3 got stuck in "Loading settings..."/"Please be patient..." 🙃 4. I'm planning to use the spare key for the next days. From what I can read in the German forum, the guys found 2 temporary solutions: Factory reset OR Fuse removed for a couple of hours. Cheers

Thx. I did that, but how did you manage to get the Red Hidden menu? Apologies if my previous questions wasn't too clear. If I select "Software Versions" from the Hidden Menu I only see(different to your above screenshot):

Update navigation- SD card missing
Hello guys, In this weekend I've tested the above MAP Upgrade process, in offline mode. I can truly say it just worked. I extracted the archive and copied all the files directly on root. The USB stick(prior formatted exFAT) has been plugged in one of the front USB ports on trip longer than 2h. Now, the Navigation Database version is 22.6 - looking at system information. But, I've just found that a new version is available at: https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB/Updates OI_P95_EU_202325_Offline_Update.zip I'll try on my next "long" journey. Cheers

@varooom, Why @Andy585's car is running on VW SW? Is this a mistake or this is how the new SK models will be delivered from now on?! Thx

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Hello all, Few words with my conclusions after conducting short debugging sessions on this issue: 1. The last 2 updates (one with some Error fixes and one with Service Campaigns) have totally broken my unit. Before them, I've had max 2 or 3 reboots in one month. After both updates kicked in(even if I tried to postponed them for some trips) my unit rebooted(at least yesterday and a day before), 4 times in a loop right after I started the car and the journey. 2. Before every reboot, if the car was stationary, "Park Assist" error and "Audio Currently Unavailable" messages were displayed in a loop on the VC. 3. The reboots still happened if the ACC was disabled or enabled! Also, the reboots happened without the AA (smart link connected) - for this test I've left every paired phone(mine and my wife) in my house just to make sure it's not in the car area. 4. Software version: 1896 (update made by the dealer a few months ago). 5. I'm based outside UK (EU region), so it has nothing to do with the region, I think. 6. Sometimes the reboots appeared more on wet weather (it rained a lot in RO for the past weekend). 7. The 12V Battery voltage drops again below 12V(maybe the unit is constantly rebooting during the car is stationary), even if it was previously changed by the dealer at the software update. Hopefully a fix will be available soon. Cheers

@kreeker, Can I ask how did you tweak the HUD directions from the internal menu? Can you please, give more details? Really appreciate. Thx

It will be very useful to get access to the firmware file and to do the update by yourself, like a normal smartphone, OR to received it via OTA update. If not, the remaining option is a trip to your dealer and loose minimum half a day there 🙃
