  1. Kieran, if you are on any of the FB groups, seek out a guy called Gav. He breaks them all the time, and I’m sure he’ll have a couple on his shelf.
  2. Welcome and nice to see a Favorit!
  3. @Funkyfin2001 and updates, were you able to find the issue?
  4. What don't you set up a project thread? We can then keep track of your progress! https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/207-octavia-projects/
  5. It's not as simple to just swap them, it'll need to be read using a eeprom program to get the code and reflash it on a new cluster. It's possible that the ECU has been modified and had the eml coded out.
  6. Any from a MK1 will fit, if you want the dark ones. You'll need a very late 2003 or any 2004/2005 vRS. Or, a L&K with the grey lining.
  7. You'll have a K03s turbo, found on many variants of the 1.8T. You shouldn't have issues finding a replacement. However, I would be more concerned about the health of the engine if any of it got starved of oil.
  8. Hello and welcome to the community!
  9. While everyone’s entitled to their opinion, I think the way one has chosen to express it is unnecessarily derogatory. It’s one thing to prefer another website, totally fair, we all have our preferences. However, t’s another thing entirely to come into this community and trash the site in such a dismissive way. If the roles were reversed, I’m sure VerticalScope the owner of the site you prefer would be thrilled to know one of their members was out publicly belittling other communities online. That kind of behavior reflects more on the individual than on any platform they’re talking about. There’s always room for improvement in any community, and thoughtful, constructive criticism is always welcome. But this kind of negativity doesn’t build anything, it just tears down. If you’ve got suggestions, let’s hear them. If not, maybe consider the kind of energy you’re bringing into the space. We’re all here to make things better, not bitter. Enjoy your site, and don’t let the door hit you backside on the way out…
  10. Just be aware, you need to be a FREEDOM member in order to advertise here.
  11. It's the default setting. There was a discussion about it in the Octavia section, and there is a guide on peoples impressions of setting up the best sound. It might be good to try a few different settings and see if you can get it improved. As for the sub, they're pretty week... I set the sound to the front speakers on the Octavia with an EQ of; 6+ Bass 0 middle +2 Treble +7 Subwoofer Canton Surround off. Here's the guide in the Ocbtavia/Superb sections Of course, this is all subjective. So play around with the settings, and you might be able to pin down the vibration somewhere. Also, aclot depends on your source of music. I always prefer .Flac files and bring hardwired for the best sound in the car.
  12. Heard of it before, so it's not new. As for the Canton, play about with the settings and be sure to turn off surround sound. Some of the new Fabia's and Octavia's without Canton sound pretty good.
  13. Hello and welcome.
  14. Hello and welcome to the community!!!
  15. Just a reminder for people - please do not post your email address or phone numbers, as the post will be held for approval. Plus, you don't want bots getting hold of that information and spamming the hell out of your details.
  16. Hi Ashley, Are these genuine parts from Skoda/TPS or, are they pattern parts? If it's the latter, they are well known for causing many problems. Always stick to genuine if you can. Make sure the system is correctly flushed out and all seated correctly.
  17. You'd need all the wiring, levelling units, 5L water bottle, headlight washers with piping, VCDS/Vagcom to connect to the lights and code them, and set them into learning mode to get the right height/level. It is quite involved, and you'll need to know what you're doing. The best bet is to just buy the adaptor loom and connect them to the existing loom and hope the police in Slovenia are nice... 😂
  18. Xenon’s are or were not a popular option here in the UK. It was an optional extra which wasn’t ticked. Most vRS’s here have the normal halogen. However, our L&K variant all came with xenon’s. So, if you want the xenon’s you can get a loom from Kufatec which is an adaptor which will allow you to use them.
  19. I’ll take a look at this. I might convert it all into a big forum topic for everyone. Got to find the time.
  20. We’ll keep away from box hill. Back in the day we used to travel to Guildford for the No-Rice meets on then last thurs of the month. But, I think there are speed bumps and barriers up now. It’ll have to be somewhere central so it’s fair on everyone too.
  21. Might be a DDL error with software. This genuine software or a cracked copy? If it’s the latter, I’d suggest speaking with whom ever you got it from.
  22. Please don’t post email addresses. We have a PM system for such cases if one needs help.
  23. Indeed, for clarification, sorry. 😀
  24. Only the dealership will be able to print of service history, this goes for any work carried out too. If any serving/work was done outside of Skoda there will be no record of it on Skoda as no one else has access to the system. Any Skoda dealership will happily print it off for you. As for DSG Service - expect to pay anywhere up to £350.
