    How about one of these...
  2. Yes the revs drop with the EHB on with the gearbox in drive as the clutches are slipping trying to dive against brake, with footbrake or autohold on the clutches are disengaged.

  4. Try taking the key out your pocket when home and place it in a Faraday pouch. Should stop random boot opening and also protect your car from someone using relay theft to steal your car.

The Eco symbol illuminates on the dash when ACT in operation.
  6. Got to agree autohold is a great feature, mine has been turned on since day one. Once you master feathering the brake pedal you soon creep along without the autohold coming on.
  7. Not got a diesel, but I’m sure if you let the adblue level go down too far engine start is inhibited.
  8. Anything is possible but would imagine you would need to source the rear door cards complete with blinds from an accident damaged Kodiaq if you want OEM. Or you could fit these or similar. https://www.carshades.co.uk/shades-skoda-kodiaq-door16-full-rear-p-5884.html
  9. Why not put your CD collection on an SD card or USB flash drive. Saves having CD,s CD player and cables lying around. Also means you can select album, track etc without faffing around with a CD player etc.
  10. Has the yeti your buying even got a spare wheel or jack as they are not standard items.
  11. As said when to fit your winter ( not snow) tyres really depends on location. As a rough rule of thumb, I normally swap mine over around the clock change at the end of this month and swap back to “summers” at the end of March.
  12. Automobile air conditioning systems are a totally different beast from hermetically sealed domestic/ industrial systems. Vehicle systems are well documented to loose up to 10% of gas annually through compressor shaft seals, and rubber hoses. You also need to factor in the need to change pollen filter and clean the system of bacteria at some point, probably not every 2 years though as Skoda suggests.
  13. I had to rely on Skoda live chat for info, as the dealer promised 2 weekly updates never transpired. I also sent feedback to Skoda that I was disappointed with the lack of my order updates. That was 2 years ago, so looks like it fell on deaf ears
  14. Why was the 3rd service carried out so early, it surely wouldn’t be due til Jan 21. Has it missed its second service, as they normally want to carry out the air con service every 2 years. Haldex and brake fluid change is normal for 3rd service.
  15. There are a few requirements for stop/start to operate not just battery voltage. Conditions for the automatic engine shut down (stop phase): › The gearshift lever is in Neutral. › The clutch pedal is not depressed. › The driver has fastened the seat belt. › The driver's door is closed. › The bonnet is closed. › The vehicle is at a standstill. › The engine is at operating temperature. › The charge state of the vehicle battery is sufficient. › The stationary vehicle is not on a steep slope or a steep downhill section. › The engine speed is less than 1200 1/min. › The temperature of the vehicle battery is not too low or too high. › There is sufficient pressure in the braking system. › The difference between the outdoor- and the set temperature in the interior is not too great. › The vehicle speed since the last time the engine was switched off was greater than 3 km/h. › The front wheels are not turned excessively (the steering angle is less than 3/4 of a steering wheel revolution).
  16. I too have used them many times with no problems. Apart from a few reports lately from people expecting next day delivery, I’ve never heard bad reports.
  17. Depends if you have the Amundsen or Columbus system. The Amundsen requires the Skoda supplied SD card, but you just download the updated map data to that card, you do not need to purchase a new card unless one wasn’t supplied then I would take it up with the dealer as to why. I you have the Columbus you can use any 32Gb SD card to download and install the updated map data. https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/
  18. I presume you have an SE as my SEL has the off- road button and snow mode. As to winter wheel suppliers, Ive had very good service from Mytyres whom I purchased my Yeti winter wheels/tyres from, and my Kodiaq winter wheels came from Mrwinterwheels.
  19. Well with mine if I apply the EHB the revs drop, if I put EHB off I get warning to apply foot brake and car starts to creep forward. So to satisfy my mechanical sympathy, and for the sake of my DSG I will continue to use the autohold and use the stop/ start of going to be stopped any length of time. Can’t believe how off topic a post on auto lights has gone
  20. I pointed out it sits happily with autohold on with clutches disengaged, with handbrake on engine revs drop and clutch slipping not happy.
  21. All I know is my Kodiaq sits quite happily with autohold on engine running and drive selected. If I apply handbrake, revs drop and feels as is clutch is slipping. If I was going to use handbrake every time I stopped I would also be slipping gear selector into neutral and if I was going to be doing that, what’s the point of having DSG with autohold, might as well have manual gearbox and traditional handbrake lol.
  22. But does that not put strain on the DSG. Having foot on brake disengages the clutches, with the hand brake on the clutches are slipping.
  23. Winter tyres are not just for snow and ice, normal “summer “ tyre compounds tend to go hard below 7°C whereas winter tyres stay soft and grip at lower temperatures. As said All season tyres are a good compromise nowadays and can save the hassle of swapping over wheels/ tyres, but as you say having a set of wheels for winter conditions is a bonus and your good wheels are tucked up nice. It’s all really down to location as to whether you experience winter conditions or not.
