Installed RNS510 MODULE 3C8035730A rSAP BLUETOOTH
darrenw replied to CEPi's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
It also depends on what is fitted to your country of sale. Best thing is to remove the covering trim under the seat (slides out) and note the module number. -

Depends on what build week it was. Week 22 onwards and you got the GSM III+ module with rSAP and HFP. -
Any 1.8TSi owners with Shark remap?
darrenw replied to Yeti_Man's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
E=MC2? At the end of the day, if people want to pay for a remap, that's their choice. Personally, I wouldn't but that's my choice. All I know is that Ben has a fantastic reputation on here an those that have had a remap done are very happy with it. Who cares whos' degree is biggest? -
Thanks. That's the cost of a few pints saved.

It happens more that you might think. I nearly did it with a hire car in Florida. It didn't help that unleaded was black and diesel was green.

I'm looking to get myself VCDS for doing things like scanning for faults etc. I've read through here, but would like an expert to confirm before I shell out hard cash. 2009 59-plate Octavia 1.8 Elegance. I would need, from Gendan : VCDS (VAG-COM) HEX-USB+CAN Interface Package http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCHU.html Or is there a lower cost cable? I know to avoid the ebay knock-offs. Thanks

variable service intervals
darrenw replied to Superskoda's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
10 weeks? I'd be expecting the dealer to contribute towards that service. -
Not what I would call "stubby"

variable service intervals
darrenw replied to Superskoda's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Mine's on fixed, but only because it came with 3 years free servicing. -
That's confused me. On the normal grille, there is a slot for the release handle to pop through. With a honeycomb grille, there is no slot so the handle cannot pop through to be released. Unless of course you remove the handle

Been out this morning and removed half of Swinley Woods from the inside of the car and thick layer of black M4 muck from the outside. Doing the front ns wheel I found I have lost one of the wheel nut covers and the other 4 needed pushing back in. The 5 on the os wheel needed pushing on as well. Seeing as I never lost one in the summer but lost 3 last winter, it looks like the cold weather causes them to loosen and fly off. Luckily I have a full set of spares from ebay.

^^^^^^ Wot he said.. When you amplify a poor signal, all you is amplify the interference and distortion, then blame the HU, speakers etc.

Those are hideous YMMV.

Not all SD cards are born equal. Like other have said, avoid ebay as many are knock-offs that look genuine but there are masses of reports of them failing. I have a policy of only using Sandisk cards in both the car and my camera. Never had one fail and never lost an image. Look at most of the pros, and they use Sandisk too.

2010 FL 2nd Fog Light Urban Myth
darrenw replied to Spudhoolio's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
which poses the question... If they can't see one, two won't make any difference. -
Mine does it and it sounds like a solenoid clicking over so could be an injector. Does sound like a tappet though. Must get my feeler gauges out and adjust them tomorrow morning. Ahh, happy days.

2010 FL 2nd Fog Light Urban Myth

and I thought the idea of only having one working was so that it didn't mask the brake lights, which have the same wattage? -
or are simply frozen. Replacing requires the removal of the front bumper. Not difficult but best if you have a helper and an old blanket to rest in on while swapping the washer out.

No. The most important reason is... ...because you can

Didn't know they made stubbies. Contrary to popular belief, the antenna length is carefully calculated to match the broadcast wavelength.
