Delivery times?
But if few weeks is repeated, multiple times, pushed back in steps, and ends up as months, then generally damage is worse than if it had been one bad delay at start. I am not sure anyone forgives very bad estimates, just close but not exact ones.

Rusty Brake Discs
It’s the UK, not a desert country, steel rusts Will rust much faster when wet, if you had driven through puddles splashing them before parking. Rusts even faster if water was salty (which is often put on roads during icy weather). Basically as others have said, find a wide empty straight road, brake heavily to scour them clean. You might need to apply handbrake to clean rears as fronts normally do majority of work

False boot floor for Roomster
We bought the optional raised floor 9 years ago which was in the accessories brochure, so is level access for our dogs (although in last year our one remaining dog can’t jump that high so we have one seat out and she gets in back door) Possibly you can get one cheap now as would be virtually obsolete parts

Delivery times?
Approx current wait times on this German site (updated regularly) https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html Octavia now min 10 months, vRS is 11 months, 12 months with a sunroof, 13 months with electric swivel tow bar, and about 18 months for iV Cars to Britain take extra 2-3 weeks as need ship transfer so I think your dealers July or August guess will be nearer February 2023

Skoda "All-in-one" Package
You can get the MOT done upto month early (actually one day under a month, eg if expires 25th, can be done from 26th of previous month) and it’s start will be post dated to 3rd anniversary of registration, or when previous MOT expires (if year 4 onwards) However if it fails then the DVLA database (and police ANPR) will show it as no valid MOT even though original one hasn’t run out. But at least it gives time to get any warranty work done before third anniversary. There is a school of thought that if the car is properly serviced and everything fixed at 3 years then starting the extended warranty immediately is a waste of money as shouldn’t go wrong for a while, thus deferring the start few months could save money, but of course it’s gambling that something unforeseen won’t fail.

Škoda Octavia Scout 2022
Tyre size and bits of cladding do affect aerodynamics, thus affect fuel consumption more at higher speeds The 4x4 system also adds about 90kg to the mass, so carrying extra deadweight, it’s similar to carrying about 3 or 4 25kg bags of cement. So you can always pop to local DIY store and drive around with some extra weight to see effect. The only Octavia with 4x4 option in UK costs £1445 more than 2wd version. So unless you live in the mountains that extra is lot more than very good set of winter wheels and tyres would cost you to add to 2wd

Electric rear windows
More like they don’t have enough parts, rather than can’t get any otherwise the front windows would also become manual. But appears lower spec, Fabia, Scala and Kamiq have all been downgraded to mechanical rear windows

Fabia mk4 launch 6pm today (4th May) with launch details
Yes would be a good size, not too big for old style parking spaces Interestingly a new Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer has been launched today so might work as an alternative, but it lot bigger than old mk1 Fabia estate https://www.vauxhall.co.uk/cars/new-astra/offers-finance/sports-tourer/petrol-diesel/flexible-pcp.html https://www.carwow.co.uk/vauxhall/astra/news/5742/new-2022-vauxhall-astra-sports-tourer#gref

Fabia Monte Carlo
Launched today 15th Feb 2022 https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/models/fabia/the-new-fabia-monte-carlo-continuing-the-tradition/ The FABIA MONTE CARLO has traditionally appealed mainly to sport and active lifestyle enthusiasts. Again in the latest version, black elements and details, including the radiator grille, the exterior mirror caps, the spoiler edge in the redesigned front bumper, the decorative trims on the side sills and the rear diffuser, give the car striking looks. The car comes with exclusive 16-inch Proxima alloy wheels, or optional 17-inch Procyon alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts in black and 18-inch Libra wheels. Details such as the MONTE CARLO plaque and badge on the steering wheel, tinted rear and side windows and the option of ordering a black painted roof complete the overall impression. All of these aspects accent the fourth-generation FABIA’s dynamic lines. he dynamic concept is also reflected in the interior, which is dominated by black paint with red details and a leather-wrapped multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel and handbrake lever. The decorative trim of the interior parts has been given a carbon finish and the sports seats with integrated head restraints are a dominant feature. It is here that we also find elements in red, the horizontal bar on the dashboard and other parts of the interior is also red, and the ambient LED backlighting is the same colour. The sporty look is further enhanced by the stainless steel pedal covers. The new FABIA MONTE CARLO boasts cutting-edge technology. One available option, for example, is a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit whose layout is tailor-made for this design version. The car’s convenient and practical features can include a heated windscreen, heated steering wheel, infotainment with a screen size ranging from 6.5 to 9.2 inches and, thanks to the integrated eSIM, you can always be online. This also lets the owner access ŠKODA Connectand mobile online services. The FABIA MONTE CARLO can also be equipped with the voice assistant Laura, which understands fifteen languages. There are options for mobile phone mirroring or wireless charging, and the FABIA MONTE CARLO has up to five USB-C ports. Safety equipment can include up to nine airbags, which, together with the car’s sophisticated construction and array of safety systems and assistants, earned the latest generation FABIA a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests. Top of the assistance systems is one called Travel Assist, which enables assisted driving by combining adaptive cruise control, ultrasonic sensors and cameras, and a lane-keeping system. The parking assistant is also impressive. ISOFIX anchors can be found at the rear on the outer two seats and at the front on the passenger seat. A car’s headlights are another important safety feature, and the FABIA MONTE CARLO comes with LED technology as standard, with Full LED headlights available as an option. Fog lights are also available and the rear lights with Full LED technology are another available option. The new powertrains also contribute to the reduced fuel consumption, and the available range essentially replicates that of the standard ŠKODA FABIA. The basic version is the three-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.0 MPI EVO that delivers 59 kW of power and 93 Nm of torque and is coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox. The five-speed manual transmission is also available on cars equipped with the 1.0 TSI EVO engine, which generates 70 kW and 175 Nm of torque. The more powerful version of the three-cylinder TSI EVO (81 kW, 200 Nm) offers a choice of transmissions: a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG. The four-cylinder 1.5 TSI EVO, with 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque, is topped by a seven-speed DSG transmission as standard. In this version, the FABIA MONTE CARLO reaches a top speed of up to 225 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds.

HELP! advice needed - new car delivery date.
No scheduled build date realistically means not planned to build it in next 3 or 4 weeks. If you allow 2-3 weeks for delivery and few days for dealer to do PDI then it effectively means not within next 2 months. But it is guesswork if it will be 1 week, 1 month, or 6 months or whatever longer.

Delivery times?
Cancellation policies vary by dealer, you need to read the relevant clause in the small print of your order. Having said that, it sounds like most are happy to mutually agree a cancellation (probably because prices have gone up, discounts gone down), so dealer can usually sell it to someone else for a higher profit.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Currently it is showing as 9 months basic wait plus 2, 3, or 4 months for some options so some specs are 13 months wait https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html site is updated regularly, scroll to Skoda and Kodiaq Just be thankful not ordered an Octavia iV, that’s 18 months

Delivery times?
Reported elsewhere (but not officially confirmed), it is the fabric covered trim panels that cover the inside of the doors. I am guessing the shaped panels (made of thick card / hardboard) where the interior handles, window switches and door bins fit onto.

Help troubleshooting problem starting when really cold
My guess is water or moisture that is freezing. Not very much but some in the fuel line from the tank Try getting the fuel filter cleaned, (or replaced) and if they can, flush the fuel line to ensure no traces of water it would help (but possibly this will be too troublesome to do and only do it if everything else is not working) A couple of other possibilities include faulty temperature sensor or faulty injector, but I don’t think this is main problem as would not run correctly for first 10-20 minutes when engine is not warmed up.

Headlamp misting
Modern lamps don’t produce heat to dry it out. 3 Basic solutions : Park it in warm dry garage Park it facing sun on dry sunny day Try and get some moisture absorbing crystals as close as possible to ventilation hole

70 Plate Kodiaq - rear discs and pads needed.... do you think this is reasonable? Replacement discs + pads <6k miles
Drive the car anywhere near a river estuary when it is windy, get salty spray. Drive it when there is salt on the roads, get salty water splashed on discs. You will find it rusts quickly (even overnight) Don’t worry about it unless disk has big grooves or is warped, a couple of heavy brake applications normally cleans them up.

Body work details
Is it not to do with the door hinge of the rear door. If you look at the hinge rotation point, then when the rear door opens, the wider part is going to arc out further, so if the gap between the doors did not follow the panel, part of the doors would catch each other. I wonder if your straight line is a constant distance from axis of hinge rotation. On earlier models if you had rubbing strips, then there would always be a tapered or flat part where two doors met, to avoid them catching.

Build Times for new Karoq
German site is reporting 5months wait for Karoq plus bit longer for certain specs https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html

Delivery times?
You might have been given the date before the recent fire, (at the factory which seems to make the fabric inside of the doors). Unclear yet what delay effect will be, but could be few months. The delivery date ranges seem to be engine specific, it has been reported the iV models now seem to be delayed 18 months.

Facelifted Karoq - Prices and specs revealed
No SE trim is probably not bad thing, seeing as latest SE trim on Fabia, Scala, Kamiq now gets mechanical rather than electric rear windows. On the other hand, there are those that like to keep it simple, and just want a car to drive to shops and do the school run etc. Don’t need vast amounts of electronic gizmos that they will never use anyway, are a distraction, and just something else to potentially go wrong and cause problems. But Skoda seems to have abandoned its former loyal customers who wanted cheap, simple and reliable. Presumably they are now expected to buy a Dacia instead.

New 19” tyres required, which ones
@Danoid The Primacy 4 is a summer touring tyre, more for general use The Pilot Sport is a firmer sporty summer tyre, great for spirited drives in warmer weather, but don’t expect it to last as long as a touring tyre. Eagle F1 (I assume you mean asymmetric 5) is an Ultra high performance (UHP) sporty tyre. There is now a new version 6. The Goodyear equivalent of the touring tyre is Efficient grip performance 2 All of these are summer tyres, so grip will fall off below about +10c in wet (nearer +4c in dry), and will be useless in sleet, snow, slush etc. If you want an all year tyre suitable for UK climate then my current suggestions are Michelin cross climate 2 or Hankook kinergy 4S2

Delivery times?
Skoda might not be hiding info, they might be uncertain because component suppliers are not being 100% accurate with planned delivery dates. My understanding is there are quotas between countries / regions. There are also dealer quotas. But this tends to be based on sales year or two ago. It is to stop groups of dealers buying up lots of stock and hoarding it. Your individual dealer (and Importer) will know their quotas (or volume targets) and therefore will know if the have exceeded them and any order placed won’t be accepted by the factory for months. Unfortunately many sales people tell customers what they want to hear and always suggest a wait between 3 and 6 months, rather give an honest answer like about 10 months for a Fabia and 15 months for an Octavia (examples, not actual delays). People need to learn to change the question. Don’t ask dealer for estimated delay, ask them if they have sales quota available, and the earliest date they would guarantee delivery or give an extra discount if date not met.
