  1. I'd be fretting about my DMF with that big lump on the back
  2. That's a lot of oil , it must be like del boy trotters reliant van with all that smoke ;-)
  3. Nor me . they won't be able to put it back either as that will probably be illegal
  4. The sat nav /radio system in my superb is excactly the same as the one in my vw bus
  5. I'd stick to 2 wd , you're rarely if ever going to need 4wd on British roads. The 4wd is lower geared so revs are higher for a given speed and economy is worse.its also quite a bit slower than the 2wd so I got it remapped I couldn't get a definitive answer on when the haldex oil needed changing on my 2014 model either not even from dealer. So as it's just out of warranty at 70 k I'm starting to fret about it
  6. I don't like the way they've designed the lights, I prefer the mondeo where the light stays on the car and you reach in from an inspection panel and unclip a peice which holds all the bulbs so you can examine them as they are still attached to the loom
  7. I have my air con on at 21 c, that's the temp that's comfortable all year round
  8. It's either been kerbed , or the tracking has been badly done. Take it to reputable tyre place
  9. I've had my 4x4 remapped so I'm not letting those buggers overwrite it
  10. If they reduce the emissions it's bound to affect performance, that's why they had to cheat
  11. Use climate control if you have it as that switches ac off and on as and when
  12. About 5 years is their lifespan . In the old days / pre ecu you could park on a slope and bump it until your battery was completely dead. Vag seem to fit boy's own batteries , my 2015 vw bus keeps going flat , I had to jump start it with my old hyundai whose battery is about twice the size of the vw. When my mondeo was playing up , the gauges would all read max including speedo abd rev counter, that was battery
  13. They are for the days of pre climate control , anyone who sees the state of their cabin filter will make sure their windows are shut in all but the most rural of areas
  14. I'm assuning It doesn't reduce emissions it just deletes their cheat software
  15. The dealer wil often try and worry you with "advisories "
  16. Probably the same engine with a different mapping , they like to keep the same engines and just tinker with them
  17. I think the previous owner had over heated the brakes and given them a glaze so they were really ineffective. I'd change your pads all round first
  18. Do you have a pin to open your screen when you unlock it ? It's a few years since I had my beloved blackberry
  19. The regulation is highly known in the automobile industry due to the effect caused by the Block Exemption Regulation (BER) from the European Commission.[1][2] BER has changed the automobile industry in the last decade.[3] Prior to 2003 automobile owners in the EU region risk nullifying their vehicle warranty when the vehicles were serviced or repaired in workshops not belonging to the vehicle manufacturer or its dealers. This barrier was broken in October 2003, when the European Commission (EC) passed a law allowing vehicle owners the freedom of having their servicing and repairs done at their chosen workshop.[4]
  20. Will they have their road tax increased?
  21. I've registered and have 3 superbs all affected , this time next year Rodney
  22. If you've buggered the heads try using an electric screwdriver and use a flat head bit that's about the same size as the original torx hole . Jam the bit into the torx head . Press firmly and put the driver in reverse . this should force the bit to dig into the screw and unscrew it
  23. Mine were poor on my 4x4 as well, you couldn't do an emergency stop in it. I've had rear pads changed and the braking is a lot better
  24. If it's the fan the air con won't work at all the same If the pressure is too high or too low . It's to stop it self destructing
