Have VRS' suddenly become expensive to insure?
*tim* replied to dxg's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
TBH its just the insurance lottery. I'm paying £290, inc remap and lowering. 27 years old and 4 years no claim.... None modified was £220... -
Something to do with having fun in snow I think. And, on that note I'm going to eat some lunch and get out on the mountain bike this afternoon

What, the same one as used by Bath College? :wonder:

Electricity Generation, Transmission and Distribution Survey
*tim* replied to gorilla's topic in The Roadside Hotel
Well I'll be... you learn sometime new everyday. I went from ND to degree, so I imagine an HNC is easily good enough. -
My fabia has got black covers. You can't even see them most of the time

Skid pan recommendation anyone?
*tim* replied to Mr Ree's topic in Racing and Advanced Driving Techniques
Ohhh, I don't think I'd like someone monitoring my every move. Less so if that 'someone' was my parents and I was 17 / 18 years old. Other than that good on you and son for wanting to improve. I thought skidpan sessions were easily available from most of those 'gift experience' companies, and if you book direct you might get it cheaper. Other than, you can hope for snowy / icy day and very large empty car park.... -
Electricity Generation, Transmission and Distribution Survey
*tim* replied to gorilla's topic in The Roadside Hotel
I thought an HNC was the same as an HND but was done on a day release basis whereas the HND is a full time course. I haven't heard of anyone doing an HNC and HND to get onto a degree course. Try and make sure that your degree is 'with Honours' as it makes your life easier if you want to join a Professional Institution i.e. the IEE As to your survey, I agree with Babs you require to much personal info. -
I saw a post from vRScarl earlier, saw the post count and thought where did this guy come from... Welcome to the site Carl

Does Castrol edge meet or exceed the correct specs? Why not buy from our own oil chap, hes even offering extra Christmas discount at the moment http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/146153-20-discount-voucher-on-all-engine-oils-meeting-a-vw-specification/

You might want to post your question up in the Octavia I forums http://briskoda.net/forums/forum/27-octavia-i/ , as you'll have more change of guessing an answer there. Anyway, welcome to the site

Hi Tom. Welcome to the site

Still finding my way around, but I like!! Yes, well done for your hard work over the past few weeks!

I had one for about 9 months, as Mike says extra poke and extra smoke especially at full throttle. My only problem was that you could feel where it stepped in the extra fuel, fine if you're on it but certain driving could be a bit of a pain as it was almost on or off. Having said that, if you can pick one up cheap. Do it!
