  1. £300 for a belt and water pump is cheaper than an engine rebuild...
  2. I know someone who restored a classic mini and insurance it on a standard insurance policy and put the value in low to save money on the policy. Mini was later stolen and friend was very much out of pocket, got it up a bit up from their initial figure but it was still very, very low. Nice car too :( As Simon said, tread carefully.
  3. I tried too but he wouldn't listen, apparently he was 'too busy' messing up a website or something - I don't know I wasn't listening... And, I have[/] to pay £12 a year for the privilege of using this poxy site in which I'm not allowed an opinion....Oh, hang on wrong thread :D
  4. I did have an interesting conversation with them regarding mods. Basically the lady wouldn't tell me whether I would or would not be covered if I changed the suspension. She said I would have to take a gamble and see what the assessors says if I ever needed to claim... yeh thanks morethan. Never mind, I also voted with my feet and I'm going elsewhere this year
  5. My morethan renewal quote was 23% less than I paid the previous year...? But then again I don't understand car insurance - its seems like they just pick a number at random
  6. I'm there. What do I do now..?
  7. Oh, just realised your bike is much much nicer than mine. That much be where you get the extra 3mph from
  8. Good riding Edd, I can't average much above 20mph for a similar distance Unless of course you sprinted, stopped to recover and then sprinted again :P
  9. Under the dashboard, passengers side. Feel around and theres two plastic clips, slide these out of the way and release this bit of trim, you can then pull the pollen filter downwards Bad description, but its pretty obvious once you have a poke around Edit: and beaten to it
  10. Morning Si, I'm guessing postponed - which, I suppose, doesn't help you if you can't get any of the other dates off. I have a bit of work to do on one of the Beetle before its collected this week, plus would be a crime not to go out on the bike since its dry and sunny
  11. Hi Sidepike, sorry can't help but try posting in the Octavia section of the forums as you're more likely to get a reply. BTW welcome

    Hi!

Hello TK Welcome to the site
  13. Quick answer: take the undertray off?
  14. Not being a doctor I don't know what that means, but it doesn't sound pretty :( So, rearrange? Yes? 29th? Hopefully Si will log in before tomorrow....
  15. Oi, stop changing my text to make me look silly In my defend I didn't get home til gone 3 in the morning :dtp:
  16. I had to go out and speak to 'real' people...
  17. its quiet here only 7 members logged in :(
  18. I'm happy either way bodie. Postponing probably would be best through as we're extremely low on numbers. If its postponed I'll be out on the mountain bike, so would be wet either way...
  19. No advisories for me but then again the garage knows better than that I wouldn't bother to do anything, the car passed with one advisory. Which (speaking with no experience of being an MOT tester) seems fair as the disc is about 2/3 worn and may need replacing before the next test
  20. Get it scanned by someone with VCDS, or falling that take it for a service and there'll do it for you and report back any problems
  21. Got the same letter the other day. £145 for two years cover is a bargain for whats included. Mines just coming up to the end of the warranty period.
