  1. Assuming you have door trim off and carrier removed to access the lock, there is no mention of the barrel.
  2. This is in the Fabia section, you have an Octavia, although should be similar......
  3. Check inside the door grommet / bellows between the door and A pillar, broken wires in there is a very common issue and causes all sorts of varying issues with windows and mirrors
  4. Never have another skoda again......................because............... its suffering issues which ALL makes of cars have................
  5. The correct screws are 5 x 22mm Part Number N 90739703 Available here as an example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-AUDI-SEAT-SKODA-Ameo-Beetle-Panel-Screw-5X22-x10-pcs-N90739703/133175331726?epid=1621371960&hash=item1f01de4b8e:g:WQ0AAOSwzZldgXwq
  6. Have you closed up the car, locked, unlocked and re-tried lights ? Is the boot light working ?
  7. I have often contemplated this one................you would def need the dash out to fit wiring and motors etc and thats "IF" the housing is the same, but without seeing them side by side, difficult to know the amount of work involved. As with anything its def possible, just depends on budget etc. On the flip side, the knobs work fine lol.........
  8. If theres no code with it, then its probably stolen !!.............
  9. Just take one out to check.
  10. RNS315 with DAB for £100 !!! ................................
  11. was a genuine part ? have the wiring checked
  12. New electric steering pump / pack is my guess. Any lights on the dash ? Check fuse 16 in the interior fusebox (by drivers knee) Also check engine bay fuses, these are the big ones ontop of the battery, fuse 6 is for the steering pump / control unit, these can develop small cracks and break the current flow to the steering unit. You cannot replace them individually, it comes as a single part, but you can check visually and ideally with a meter that there is voltage either side of the fuse.
  13. yes it pulls off, pull it at the top and bottom at the same time.
  14. You dont "get into" the light cluster. you remove the whole lamp and then the bulb is accessible. Remove the end of the lower grille nearest the lamp itself, then put your hand in and you can feel the clip, push the clip towards the lamp and she will pop out, really is easy once you have done it. Just incase your book is different..............attached is instructions...
  15. Normal depth 30mm Bi Hex socket works fine as well
  16. seems a shot in the dark to me, know one could possibly know that. out of interest whats the mileage ?
  17. I did not think it would be but YES !! its the same part !!
  18. easy to fit, undo seat bolts, tilt the seat backwards onto rear seat being careful of seat belt tensioner loom, screw in new stowage, refit seat. I have one under both front seats.
  19. and another.........forward to 2 mins....................it really sounds like it just needs synching.
  20. follow this, one of these will work............................................
  21. common engineering knowledge Never lubricate threads or bolts unless stated by the manufacturer. Its not the fact they "may" come loose, it's that lubricating wheel bolts means you will apply a larger load to the bolt to get the same torque figure as there is less friction on the threads so there is always a risk of stripping the threads and or stretching / weakening the bolt. You won't notice it when torquing them up as you just wait for the click of the torque wrench, but the damage that "may" occur you simply won't know / see. Just clean the threads and fit dry.
  22. the alarm "should" stop if the ignition is switched on....its not that late yet Anyway, I would try my "last" post first
  23. If the above does not work.......... then final try of this........ 1. stand by the car, push the UNLOCK button on the remote control 2. then immediaetley unlock the car with the key 3. put key in ignition and switch on (not start) That "hopefully" will do it. Again if you have 2 keys, try this with BOTH.
  24. Ok, that was the "official" procedure. If you have 2 keys.....try this.......... 1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition. 2. Mechanically lock the vehicle from the Drivers door using the other key to be coded. 3. Using the remote control press the Unlock button once, and the horn will sound once. 4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate the coding procedure.
