  1. Its a known issue, go to your nearest Skoda dealer and they will open it for you, and then book you in for a replacement part under warranty. see this thread Fuel filler jammed - Skoda Karoq - BRISKODA
  2. There have been a number of posts in the Facebook Skoda Karoq Owners Group recently related to the appearance on the infotainment screen when starting the car of a message about Data Tracking. I too have had this but it has now stopped. Then a new longer message referring to EU data protection and sharing - that was the gist I think as I didn’t take a photo and it’s no longer being displayed. I think I may have “OK d” both messages and that perhaps stopped them being displayed. Any way leading on from that I downloaded the latest version of the My Skoda App and it has new information about Consents and Permissions. Data Tracking which is tracking the way the App is used and Vehicle Data that the car transmits and is stored on VAG servers. There is a new feature to request downloads of the transmitted vehicle data that VAG store. There is a Historic Data request and Continuous data request, the later can customised to select specific data clusters and to one-off, monthly, until a specific date or non-expiring which I take to mean on a regular basis. It’s a little bit long winded to initially login into the Data Portal, to be able to request historical and continuous data, which will be provided within 24 hrs. I am waiting to see what is provided. The data dictionaries can also be downloaded. I’m assuming delivery will be by email as that’s how the data dictionary pdf was delivered. I'm hoping I might be able to load into Excel, Access or My SQL database and then write some PHP or VB Macros to do something with it..........
  3. If you have the My Skoda App you can download the Digital Certificate for you vehicle, this will list the full specification including any factory ordered options, all the technical data, service history, recall work done, PDI date. etc. It gets updated every time it is worked on by any Skoda Dealer. Some snapshots from the current digi cert
  4. This may or may not help, but I’ve found that driving with anything in the back pockets of my trousers causes me to have a lower backache. This seems to be a Skoda seat “feature” as I found the same discomfort in the pool Octavia on long runs.
  5. There is a camera for the matrix headlights if you have those.
  6. Might be easiest to pop to the nearest windscreen replacement company as they must have do this when replacing a windscreen. Probably need to remove the old adhesive too.
  7. If you Google Krytox fluid and how to apply it, which I did only 3 days ago as I was going moisturise my pan roof seals. After cleaning which is critical and probably takes the most time, as always preparation is the key to success, the Krytox is massaged into the surface of the nenoprene seals. I only needed to use a very small amount roughly one 3 mm drop every 25 mm was plenty. With regard to cleaning I used a small sponge with plain water no detergent, the opening section seals are easy to clean but the rear fixe do section seals the dirt is trapped between the seal and metal frame. I used an old toothbrush to lightly brush between seal and frame followed by a flat plastic trim tool with tissue wrapped round to push between seal and frame so working carefully along to dry the seal and pick up the dirt. The seal gap across the rear of the fixed section tends to retain the damp and promote the growth of algae or moss, tooth brush again for that bit. Bits be done my seals twice now and estimate the bottle of liquid will last at least 5 years doing them twice a year. The seals definitely swell up when did Krytox is applied.
  8. @mumpsim thanks for the comment. I’m going to speak to the dealer. I did wonder if it could be due to different equipment. KwikFit have the same laser alignment system as the dealer, plus first alignment was KwikFit and it agreed give or take a few minutes with dealer on caster.
  9. Just replaced the rear tyres on my 2.9 TSI 4x4 which included the 4 wheel laser alignment check. As some forum members will know back in March this year I posted about the serious suspension misalignment cuased by a member of the motor trade driving my Karoq over a series of 30 mph limit speed bumps in excess of 40 mph. SO I was keen to check that my tracking and camber alignment were still correctly adjusted. Camber was within tolerance on all wheels, just the left rear tracking was right on the limit so I had that adjusted to be mid-way. What I was puzzled by was the front caster, which is non adjustable. When I had new front tyres in Feb 26 caster was OK, when the suspension was re-aligned after the speed bump incident in March the caster was OK. Now 10 weeks and 2,000 miles later the caster on both front wheels is no longer within tolerance. Overall mileage is only 15,000 which I feel is too low for the incorrect caster angles to be due to suspension component wear, and I have been very careful on speed bumps. On my previous car, VW Touran, which has a similar front suspension set up to the Karoq the front castor angle did change over time, but it was gradual over the 50k to 100k period, which was to be expected. My concern is that the sudden change in caster angles might have been caused by the speed bump incident damaging s suspension bush, but its taken a while for it to become apparent.
  10. Its on this screen - tap the three dots bottom right on the map display screen. I have it unticked as I prefer to have the map on the main screen and use the centre dash display for the Phone when not 'Navigating' and the turn by turn guidance automatically gets displayed in the centre of the dash, at the end of a route the centre section reverts to displaying the compass, so I have to manually Telephone via the scroll wheel. I guess we'd all like to have the ability to define the default position on startup, and probably the ability to decide if every start should default (which would be problematical for stop/start) or whether the default should only apply after 2 hours like the 'Since Start' driving stats.
  11. This is the hardware and software versions in my 2023 Sportline. I suspect your car will have later versions of both. With my Karoq the built in sat nav has a setup tick box to show the map in the centre of the classic VC dash and then it shows the compass on the main screen. If unticked (the setting I use) it shows the compass on the centre section when Navigation is selected for the centre section by the button/scroll. The route guidance ie next turn info automatically gets displayed on the centre section when the route is selected. I couldn’t find a way to get CarPlay display anything from the iPhone screen in the centre if the VC dash. I’d be interested to know what the hardware/software versions your Karoq has as I ditched CarPlay 18 months ago because it didn’t seem to be integrated with the dash or steering wheel controls.
  12. You could go for an All Season tyre which tend to have a flexible tyre wall if the 225/45 are not appropriate.
  13. Thanks @Rbz5416 I was on version 8.11.0 updated to v 8.12.0 and bingo info reappears. I'm always wary of updating an App as there is always a risk of making things worse and not being able to go back
  14. Thats good to know.
  15. Could I ask what sort of warranty please. Is it the used car warranty, the All-In-One Service plan Extended Warranty or an Independent Warranty. I;m assumming its the 2021 Karoq in your signature which would be outside its Manufacturers 3 yr warranty.
  16. I use the My Skoda App and renew the subscriptions each year for Remote Connections and Infotainment Online. Under Profile is an option for Paid Services, which I'm sure used to list each subscription purchased along with the expiry/renewal date now all I see is Service Plans and Cubic Telecom. Anyone else noticed this?
  17. I don’t think the recall software update was OTA, I believe it’s a Dealer applied update. I have the impression that Infotainment apps and maps are updated OTA whereas operational software updates are only via Dealers.
  18. There was a recall action related to Kessy that involved a software update, has your Karoq had that fix? if not your nearest dealer should do be able to do it. I personally have not had any issues with Kessy, but the fix was applied to my KAroq in MArch this year when it was serviced. I have seen posts by other owners regarding the keys being locked in the car and other odd behaviour with the locking.
  19. Screwfix I find to be a good source for remote key batteries, usually Varta. Seem to last as long as any others.

If tow bar specific wiring you mean the harness that runs from front to the back of the car that is usually part of the Towbar Prep package. If you download the Digital Certificate from the My Skoda App it will show whether it’s been included in the build. However even if it has that cable you still need the Towing Module and its coding to make it work. Although there were issues last year with Dealers getting access to the coding for some post 2023 Karoqs that has now been resolved but not all dealers are prepared to do the coding.
  21. My thoughts too. My local independent that I used for nearly 20 years uses the ‘number of heat cycles’ approach - which sounds similar to what you are saying. Running at full operating temp is good, it’s the mileage done while warming up that causes the wear. Our 2015 Fabia DSG has done 21712 miles and I too am wondering about a DSG oil change but it’s working fine so I’m erring on the leave it alone.
  22. This is relatively trivial. Sometimes the reversing camera gives this view showing more of the number plate than it does in the second image which is what it usually looks like. Today I finally discovered what causes it. Starting the car and selecting reverse before the infotainment system has completed booting up.
  23. Yes Remote Services is the lock/unlock, honk & flash, driving data, theft alarm, parking position stuff. Infotainment online is map updates, online route calculation, online traffic etc. I use both features - I prefer the built in sat nav so don’t bother with CarPlay. Map version 26.02 downloaded recently, I have Software 0330 and hardware H25 - yours may be different as my Sportline is a 2023 model.
  24. @Chris49 Skoda Connect is free for the first 36 months from the date you register for Skoda Connect, it’s not linked to the purchase date. The cost of each subscription was £36 a year, I pay for both services. I like the sat nav and find the realtime routing very accurate and responsive. As of March 2026 the map database was 25.12. Your 36 months free period gives you time to decide whether you like/need the Connect functions. If you are having phone pairing issues check you are using Bluetooth rather than the MySkkda9345 WiFi hotspot.

If you sign up for a service plan extended warranty is one of the included items.
