  1. I previously used Autoglym Alloy wheel cleaner, switched to Magna and found it more effective. Haven’t tried the advanced wheel cleaner yet.
  2. @Ooopnorth have you tried Autoglym wheel protector spray polish? I started using it on my previous car and carried on with the Karoq. It makes it very easy to rinse off road dirt etc. Usually do an autumn and spring application. Probably the other car polish makers have similar products.
  3. I bought a 6 month old Skoda in April 24, the renewal for connect and infotainment has just popped up as the first 12 months free period expires in Dec. I have renewed both - connect because it includes the tracker feature and the infotainment to keep maps up to date.
  4. I would add brake pedal pressure also influences stop/start, if, as some drivers do, slightly reducing brake pedal pressure a split second before the car stops, the S/S might not kick in, also if Auto Hold is switched off, S/S has activated slightly reducing foot brake pedal pressure will start the engine,
  5. My Karoq came with the Space saver spare, it included jack, jack handle, wheel brace, plastic tweezers for wheel bolt caps, circular ring that had a leg with hook end. Don’t know what the last thing does - my previous VW had the same tool which removed the bolt covers. I don’t recall seeing a towing eye will have to check. I would recommend getting a wheel mounting rod off ebay. It’s a 6 inch long rod which screws into a bolt hole. Makes removing and fitting wheels much easier. Screw it into a bolt hole at the top and the wheel can simply be slid on and off. It takes the weight if the wheel when refitting leaving both hands free.
  6. Couple of photos taken last night in an empty car park illuminated by LED lamppost!, after I'd spent all day applying AutoGlym Super Resin polish followed by a coating of HD wax to protect it for the winter. Wish I'd wiped the moisture off the windscreen though!
  7. Thanks for the response. Our Fabia does have hill hold, the slope of our drive in front of the garage is just enough for it to roll back but not steep enough to engage hill hold. Based on your suggestion I have changed how I drive the Fabia into the garage. Foot on brake engage drive, release footbrake, position foot over throttle (but dont press) release handbrake and then it creeps forward with a little throttle. This seems to provide enough time for the DSG clutches to engage and to start the car moving. My current Karoq is the 2.0 TSI withe wet clutch DSG, my previous Touran was 2.0 TDI with wet clutch DSG, they both creep more readily, I was wrongly expecting the Fabia to behave the same. More importantly the DSG box is working correctly and it was the user at fault!
  8. Possibly a Dual Mass Flywheel issue?
  9. We have a 2015 1.2 TSi 110 bhp DSG Fabia. I’ve always found that it doesn’t creep very well especially relevant when parking close to a solid object or when putting it away in the garage. What happens is I select D, wait a few seconds, foot off the brake pedal, if it starts to creep forward it’s OK but more often that not it rolls back so a bit of throttle and it starts to creep forward, then the clutch disengages the revs rise to 1500 drop back to 900, clutch engages immediately disengages revs rise and fall without any change in throttle pedal position. Mileage is 19,000, ex Motability car which had just 900 miles recorded when I bought it. Just wondering if it’s a Mechatronics or Clutch packs issue. Normal driving is fine.
  10. I’d suggest filling up with a couple of tank fulls of Shell V-Power unleaded. We have run our 110bhp Fabia from day 1 on V-Power and it seems to go amazingly well. It’s the earlier 4cyl motor and DSG so perhaps that also makes a difference. Continuing along memory lane the Mk 3 110bhp Fabia performance stats match, maybe even better those of the Mk 1 Golf GTI. The performance stats for the current 2.0TSI Karoq match those of the original Audi Quattro, although I suspect the Quattro would corner better!
  11. I have a 2023 Sportline - it has the Mattix lights which are excellent, lighting up the verge on the nest side, they have a very sharp horizontal cutoff which covers the full width of the road. They seem to illuminate road signs on gantries really well. High beam assist I have on all the while and so far no annoyed oncoming traffic. So much more light. TSR can be retrofitted, cost around £180, BUT only if the vehicle has the QK1 camera and doesn’t require an Authorisation Code from Skoda to unlock the coding. My 2023 build Sportline required the unlock code which Skoda don’t release, so couldn’t get it retro fitted. Not sure exactly of the year, possibly 21/22 and earlier Karoqs don’t need the unlock code. @cjp suggest you contact someone like Hazzydayz who I used. They have a brilliant techie who really knows his stuff.
  12. I don’t think all 4x4 Karoqs have the off-road button. My 2.0 TSI DSG Sportline doesn’t have that button. The closest “thing” is the Snow mode option. Is Off-road part of the Performance Pack?
  13. @logiclee are the ECO Bridgestones the same as the Duellers, which I have on my Karoq? Just curious as, so far, I’ve not had any wheel spin or traction control cutting in with my Karoq - which I was expecting with the 2.0 TSI as my 2.0 TDI Touran would do that on brisk pull aways. Another thought regards ride quality, my Touran had the multi link rear suspension, similar if not identical to my Karoq- do all Karoqs have multi link rear suspension or do some have the beam axle set up as that might affect ride quality.
  14. I had Cross Climate 1s and 2s, on my previous car, didn't notice a difference, although perhaps in hindsight the CC2s might have worn quicker, but theres so many variables with wear rate (road surfaces, tracking , load to say nothing of driving style and roundabouts). 30,000 miles from the CC1s 22,000 from the CC2s which is not in the same league as the Michelin Premacys that were on it from new (50,000 miles) Had Goodyear1 Vector All Seasons on the a previous car and they were excellent in 3-4 inches of snow, and the wet. Brother has Goodyear All Seasons on his Yeti. I'll be switching to All Season as soon as th eoriginal Bridgestone Dueller's get down to 3mm or I discover the limitations.
  15. The ASC and ABS lights I have had come on for an ABS wheel sensor failure.
  16. Have you signed up to Skoda Connect? One of the features is the ability to download a Digital Certificate. This gives the precise specification of the vehicle along with the recorded service history. So for my Sept 23 registered Sportline, I get the production year - this is important as 2023 Sportlines didnt include Lane Assist or TSR. It also shows the 'lifeline of my Karoq starting in 05/2023 - somewhere I found the actual build date but I can't remember where it was recorded but I know it was May 2023, confirmed by the certificate. In the Service plan section it shows the date of the PDI and any services in this case my car was serviced in March 2024 just before I bought it (used) from a Skoda Dealer. This might help you determine if your Karoq should have Lane Assist and TSR. I test drove a couple of 24 reg demo Sportlines in early April 2024, and they had TSR and Lane Assist.
  17. Good that you've found an improvement. I was a little surprised that the steering seemed heavy at slow speeds as I find mine is very light, being able to 'palm' the steering very quickly from lock to lock with virtually zero effort, hence my questions.
  18. Update. Contacted Skoda Customer Care. The case handler tried very hard but kept hitting brick walls. I asked them to escalate to their manager and after contacting both my local Skoda dealer and the dealer I bought the car from, Skoda UK authorised the warranty claim. So although it took a while a successful outcome in the end.
  19. Possibly silly questions, but has the steering recently become heavier, are your tyre pressures too low, has the tracking or suspension been damaged?
  20. I've been offered these sort's of 'add-ons' on new and ex demo cars many times over the years; Exterior Protection, Interior Upholstery Protection, Alloy Wheel Insurance, Gap insurance. This is where the dealers make their money on a car sale because there is intense competition through online websites for the actual vehicle price. If you are buying through PCP and intend handing the car back at the end of the contract and getting another new car on PCP the dealers like taking back vehicles with these 'insurances' on them because they can get the car prepped for resale on their forecourt by claiming on these insurances at zero cost to them, in fact they actually make money because they 'invoice the insurer for the work they needed to do. When trading in a car against a new one I've been told if I'd had these insurances they trade in would have been higher, but not by the amount I'd have had to fork out for the insurances though. Prior to my Karoq I had a pre-reg VW Touran which had 27 miles on the odometer, instead of paying £400 for exterior protection and £300 for interior protection, I spent £100 on Autoglym products, clay bar, resin polish and HD Wax, Upholstery Cleaner and Vinyl Cleaner/Polish. If you have the time,, one weekend in spring and one weekend in Autumn was all it needed and the products lasted 6 years, before |\I needed to buy more. Find a good detailer and save yourself some time and money!
  21. Based on @jasongs PDF I had a look at the drains on my 2023 Karoq Sportline today. Its a June 2023 build date and it looks as though changes have been made which might prevent the rear drains from getting blocked.. This is the Offside rear drain, as you can see the red plastic cap is not present. I very gently pushed my drain cleaner rod up to check. I stopped as soon as I encountered resistance, which I suspect was a joint in the pipe. This photo has been taken lying under the rear of the car looking towards the offside, the wheel arch liner is visible lower left, I didn't have to remove any part of the wheel arch or bumper. Very easy to see and check. The nearside rear though was different. There is a shiny black plastic cover preventing access to the area where the drain is located. By removing 3 screws at the bottom of the wheel arch liner that held the liner to the black plastic cover I was able to get my hand in and feel the drain,, it too did not have the red cap and it was clear. It was much harder to take this photo than actaully check the the drain! This photo is taken lying under the car looking towards the nearside rear corner, the black plastic cover is visible behind the nearside exhaust outlet The drain is behind the cover where the yellow sticker is, and the 3 screws to remove are along the edge below the yellow sticker. I was surprised that the offside didn't have a black plastic cover like the nearside. As I had a towbar fitted in August the bumper would have been removed perhaps that cover didn't get refitted, I will have to check with the company that fitted the towbar.
  22. It says its switched on in the Infotainment screen setup, but until it does something its impossible to know. I try my best to drive well, but I know I've had to deviate out of lane to avoid objects and potholes and it hasn't always been possible to signal. I will have to try and provoke it into action. Mind you most of the local dual carriageway roads I drive on the centre lines are virtually invisible.
  23. I would suggest speaking to one of the Retrofit companies. Hazzydayz in Markyate (J9 M1) are very good, if it’s possible they will know how to it. There are different cameras, front assist I believe is radar based, I have land assist which uses the camera, in 3000 miles it’s never done anything, I dont believe I have never got close to a lane white line! I dont know if it’s any good. The camera spec you need is QK1 there are different spec cameras.
  24. Trying premium fuel is not solving the problem, and unlikely to make any difference. If the engine seems down in power that would probably be the reason for poor fuel consumption. ootoheres comment about tyre pressures is very pertinent. I found the ECO pressures improved mpg by around 4 mpg, with autumn lower temperatures the pressures could easily have dropped by 5-10 psi. Our 2015 1.2 TSI DSG does 45mpg on 3-5 mile journeys, on very rare long 70 mph motorway journeys it goes 55mpg. With 110bhp it’s a quick car, but it always has Shell V Power petrol.
