  1. 4x4 Karoqs have a 55 litre tank (others are 50 Litres) 7 miles per litre is approx 32 mpg so that would equate to a range of 385 miles, 6 miles per litre is aprrox 28 mpg which equates to a range of 330 miles. Your touring caravan must be quite big, in the mid 1970s I towed a 12ft Lunar weighing about 15cwt or 750 Kg. I'd imagine the frontal wind resistance of your caravan would be higher too. I think that, subconsciously, my driving style changed which is reflected in the better mpg on the return journey. I made more use of coasting, staying behind trucks if they weren't holding me up.
  2. Bosch A864S Twinpack from Halfords fitted fine on the front. Been to the VAG dealer this morning for the correct rear blade. Part number is K565955425B 5B01 Wiper Blade. At £27.12 its slightly more expensive than Halfords £9.89 for the one that doesn't fit!
  3. Halfords blade for the 2023 spec Sportline doesn’t fit the fitting is too tall. In my image below the bottom blade is from my Karoq, the top blade is an old one off my Touran. Both same length, same catch and position but the end cap on the catch is bigger on the Touran one. To save hassle I recommend taking the rear blade into the shop to check before you buy. My store didn’t have a Bosch version.
  4. Update on fuel consumption and fuel prices On 3 & 4 lane motorways I was using CC set to 60 mph, on 2 lane motorway/dual carriageways, through road works and single carriageway roads I used Speed Limiter set to whatever the limit was for that stretch of road, as I found that more adaptable to the ebb and flow traffic conditions. I have a Shell card so was only using Shell filling stations Day 1 Mk to Dumfries 288 miles, 32.5 mpg, 43 mph. Fuel Shell Golden Fleece Carlisle £.1.299 per litre. Day 2 Dumfries to Kildrummy, 243 miles, 41 mph, 30.8 mpg, Fuel Shell Dundee £1.259 per litre. Day 4 Kildrummy to Glasgow, 176 miles, 39 mph, 28.6 mpg, Fuel Shell Dundee £1.259 per litre. Day 5 Galsgow to MK, 345 miles, 48 mph, 35.3 mpg. Fuel Shell Golden Fleece Carlisle £.1.299 per litre. Data is from the My Skoda App. Day 5 dashboard display showed 36 mpg for the 345 miles journey Very pleased with the overall mpg, and day 5s was a real surprise, possibly I had 'learnt' how to drive more economically without sacrificing average speed. My Karog has not quite done 9000 miles so perhaps it is now 'run in'. Shell E10 fuel in Scotland was 6p a litre cheaper than locally in MK, and in many of the motorway filling stations was over £1.56 per lire for E10 unleaded.
  5. @Ootohere yes Vintage rally at Kildrummy Castle.
  6. Yes it can be a fright to catch a glimpse of a Metro bonnet and windscreen - and start to think crikey that’s very close!
  7. Use the My ŠKODA App to download the digital certificate for your car it will have the full spec.
  8. This is my 2023 2.0 TSI 4x4 Sportline about to set off from Milton Keynes on a 500 mile trip to Kildrummy, Aberdeenshire. The combined weight of trailer and the 1983 Metro 1.3 HLE is 1,400 kg. I've done 288 miles today, basically M1 and M6 to Dumfries, the cruise control was set to 60 and the Karoq maintained this speed easily. Initially it seemed to be using D6 more than I expected but then settled into using D7 most of the time. The overall mpg for the 288 miles was 32.6 which I thought was pretty good. I did the same journey previously using a 2.0 TDI Touran (same trailer and load) and it averaged 35 mpg. The revs never went above 2000 rpm and most of the time it was using a rev range of 1,200 to 1,800 rpm. On normal non dual carriageways (where trailers are limited to 50mph) it was pulling happily in D7 at around 1,400 rpm. Overall it was very smooth and quiet, the trailer load on the rear suspension seemed to make it softer over any bumps too. Overall it seems a very capable tow car, and working out more economical than I anticipated.
  9. The same question has been asked on the Facebook Karoq Group. An owner of a 24 Karoq had had a removable towbar fitted without problems, So i asked for more details - this was his reply:Hi, it was an Aragon detachable, vertically engaging, towbar and dedicated 13 pin electrics. It recognises the trailer when connected and disables the rear sensors ( but not the rear fog light, which I thought a little odd). Had it done at Telford towbars on the recommendation of my local dealer.
  10. If there is no aftermarket towbar available what is the point of Skoda fitting towbar prep to all their Karoqs? Try Hazzy Days in Markyate, near J9 of the M1. I have used them in the past and they also do retro fit work for Richter Sport and Audi dealers. In May 2024 I contacted Richter to fit a removeable swan-neck Westfalia towbar to my Karoq, (same as they'd fitted to my Touran.) They discovered that the only towbar that was available for my Sept 23 reg Karoq was the Skoda electric swiveling one. I did contact Hazzy Dayz and they said they could fit a Westfalia - in the end I had Richter fit the Skoda factory fit electric one. As my original post said it wasn't straight forward; firstly it took nearly 3 months for all the parts to arrive as one item was on back order to Skoda, and then there was the issue with the coding. I think there has been a change to the security of the CANBUS configuration somewhere towards the end of the 2023 models, such that its no longer possible for 3rd parties and even Skoda Dealers to 'code' in new features. For example in Sept 24 I asked Richter if they could code Traffic Sign Recognition as my Karoq has all the right hardware already, but Skoda wouldn't release the code to them. I spoke to Hazzy Dayz and took my car over them. They attempted to do it and were blocked and could not access the necessary modules. Hazzy Dayz have some very good techies who were surprised as they'd done this same change to an Audi of the same age the previous week. Hope your are able to find a resolution.
  11. I think it was this one. Front assist not yet ready is my interpretation. I got this by pressing start without my foot on the brake ie turn on the ignition in old money.
  12. I have a 2.0 Petrol DSG Sportline 4x4 I think its very quiet, I had a 2.0TDI DSG Touran for 11 years before the Karoq, and I find the Karoq just as comfortable and quiet as the Touran. Very similar in size and weight. The Karoq with 4wd handles better when cornering. The 4x4 Karoqs have the VW mutti-link rear suspension and 45 profile tyres a combination which gives a softer and quieter ride. The 2wd Karoqs have a beam axle rear suspension setup and that I believe tends to give a harsher ride. I would have expected the Tiguan , as its based on the same platform as the Karoq to be very similar, with perhaps better soundproofing, the Seat Ateca use the same basic bodyshell as the Karoq, with some minor external panel differences.
  13. Why do Skoda have all these unnecessary variations on the same thing. With regard to the gear number indication on the dash display, is this a difference between 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI engines. As I said my 2023 2.0 TSI has the gear number shown as did the 2024 2.0 TSI I test drove.
  14. On my Sportline “coasting” is indicated by the gear display changing from D5, D6, D7 etc to D, or E if in Eco mode.
  15. On my 2023 Sportline DSG i have auto hold on all the time, when I come to a stop the brake symbol on the dash, (P) illuminates green, I always put the DSG into park and switch off, the (P) changes from green to Red.
  16. I have a 2023 2.0 TSI Sportline, so I don't expect amazing mpg, but I have to say I'm pretty impressed after 1 year of ownership. To date in 6000 miles it is 35 mpg - pretty much what Skoda show on the spec sheet for my car. Around 75% of my usage is short distance 4-5 miles locally the rest is longer journeys on 70 mph major roads when the average is around 45 mpg. Yesterday I decided to try ECO mode on a 120 mile round trip. Going was 50/50 mix of single carriageway A roads, town centre traffic and Motorway; recorded 45 mpg, return journey 80% motorway 49.5 mpg, typically driving at 60 to 70 mph. I did not use cruise control but did use the speed limiter and coast mode kicked in most times whenever I lifted off the accelerator. My previous 2.0 TDI DSG Touran used to average around 60 mpg on that journey, using V-Power diesel, the Karoq runs on Shell E10 Unleaded - negligible cost difference for fuel. I can't find documented anywhere what ECO mode actually does, but my impression was that it seems to start off in 2nd more, that it stays in 6th and 7th longer and is happy to run at at 1100/1200 rpm in both those gears when normally it would have changed down at around 1500 rpm. I also noticed that the Soundaktor is quieter too.
  17. If you have a Nextbase dashcam they sell a hardwired kif which plugs into the OBD port, continuous live includes earth connection, easily accessed so dead easy. Access to the fuse box requires removal of the glovebox which is a little tricky. People say using the OBD port which is always live will flatten the battery but it allows for parking mode and the kit monitors battery voltage and switches off if it drops too low. I’ve not had any issues in over a year and I don’t use my car every day and it’s short journeys.
  18. If you know the reg no then use the GOV UK to look up the vehicle details, you don't need to know the original list price, the Additional Rate applicable until line is inly present if the additional rates apply. The 24 plate 2.0 TSI Sportlines were just under the £40k limit if the only 'extra' was the space saver spare wheel. I suspect with price increases the 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI Sportlines will all be over the limit but the 1.5 TSI may not be. First year VED rate is much higher but only applies to the first owner. I bought a 6 month old 73 plate Sportline and the VED for 12 months was £190.
  19. Is it traffic sign recognition (TSR) or the NAV map based speed limit warning that is wrong. I do not have TSR in my Sept 24 Sportline but do have the map based speed warning activated. This consistently goes off on part of Brickhill Street in Milton Keynes saying it’s 30 mph limit when in fact it’s a 60 mph road.
  20. Its now working for me using V 8.2.0 on an Iphone.
  21. I was on map version 25.1 when I looked a few days ago. Having spent my whole working life in Software development on numerous platforms; I suspect it was a back end problem, tempted to suggest a version control issue. The problem wasn't fixed by updating to V8.2.0 and yester]day I got an email promoting new features in the My Skoda App related to showing 'Offers' on the Map and being able to navigate to the nearest dealer with that offer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  22. Update today May 15th 3pm. Send route to car is now working again. I’m using version 8.2.0 of the My Škoda App.
  23. Had a similar noise on my partners previous car that disappeared when the clutch pedal was depressed. It too was low mileage, but the number of gear changes per mile was high due to just doing short journeys around town and no long runs. Had the clutch replaced and it was fine.
  24. Plugs were replaced by my local garage last week on partners 1.2 110 bhp TSI. @NigelC95 exactly same issue with the rubber bits stretching and not coming off. In the end he got them off but they were not further use and new ones were fitted. The replacements came with lubricate to facilitate removal. Our Fabia is 10 years old, 19,500 miles only the second time the plugs have been replaced. I guess age and heat caused them to stick.
  25. I too have the same issue, I updated the app to 8.2.0. I know it was working at the end of March, it’s my preferred method of entering destinations as it’s much easier than the infotainment keyboard entry. My Karoq was serviced at the end of March and had the s/w update for the Kessy system that prevents locking w keys in the car. I can’t see how this would affect it. I ve assumed that the app communicates with a VAG server which in turn talks to the car. Somewhere in the app documentation it said only one route can be sent to the car at a time, each route sent has to be accepted and saved on the car before sending another route. The Nav app in the car seems to be getting traffic information in realtime perfectly. I have also raised this Škoda UK customer care, as I can see their office in MK from my home it’s very tempting to progress it face to face.
