  1. +1 When i fitted mine I removed the trim and secured it to the loom that was there making sure it was well away from the airbag. More work but peace of mind
  2. +1 I replaced my AGM with another AGM, never changed any VCDS settings and all was good. Changed it on the driveway, simple job, a few dashlights when started and they went off after a few mins of driving. I'd be surprised if Halfords did code it ...
  3. Yes that H7 pack will do your dipped beam. The H15 upgraded bulbs are very limited and the Cool Intense Blue are you best option (but not cheap). I've just had a dig around in the garage and have the boxes for my Cool Intense bulbs but they arent in there so must have px'd it with them in.
  4. I used the H15 Cool Intense Blue and there is a blue coating but its not really that blue compared to some off the ebay bulbs. They were definitely whiter as a DRL and brighter than the standard bulb to use as full beam (assuming because they are 20% brighter). I did try some of those 'really blue bulbs' but they were awful and you could barely tell they were on when using full beam. Ill have a dig around as i had a comparison picture somewhere.
  5. Hmm - -What Budget tyres are they - Things I dont scrimp on are the brakes and tyres (while appreciating we all have a budget). I tried budgets all round about 12 years ago - 2 were replaced after 2 months as they started to crack and then 1 cracked again a few months later so i binned them all and went for Toyo's. As for speed rating as long as it matches the original for the car thats fine, go lower and it could invalidate your insurance (should it come to it and they were looking not to pay out). Ive got Rainsport 3's on my A6 and had them on the Oct Scout 3, great tyre but wear a little quick. I've got a set of Rainsport 5's in the garage that are going on the Wifes Cooper S tomorrow. They are similair to the 3 other except there is an additional band/channel towards the outer edge.
  6. On the Oct 3 pre facelift I thought you had to break the hard cover plastic that provides access to the indicator bulb, and that there was a kit (ie new plastic cover) that you then had to glue back over the indicator bulb access hole. It seemed a ball ache so I never bothered.
  7. Its water that has got under the lacquer, be that from a stone chip or peeling paint. Over time it will just get worse. You could try looking for any chip or peel and touch in with lacquer
  8. Filthy dirty porn ..... NSFW
  9. I used a hard wire kit and a piggy back fuse for that. I took the one out of my Oct 2 when i PX'd it for that reason and I did leave a can of tyre weld in the boot for the garage
  10. Electric memory passenger seat (when you have memory driver seat) as my son used to get in and adjusts it, then anyone else getting in has to adjust it back. And the sunset glass is too light
  11. Mine were 300NM - I cant work out how to link to Sashas post but i used the link in her post to order mine - same seller. Heres a quote, its on page 37 of her build thread
  12. Sure can ... I wasnt sure if we did ebay links nowadays after seeing a post recently! This is a link to the updated lifters of the ones i brought (same seller as mine), they are £8.59. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192589481940 If you wanted to use another seller, there are others on there, just make sure the length and NM are the same and you should be good. Work block those tiny url links so cant see what in them
  13. Mine came with everything I needed apart from washers (or maybe i wanted bigger ones and had them to hand). I thought it came with both long and short tbh. I brought mine April 2019 - Checked bay history and the item says it has been updated but the ebay item number is the same. I normally take pics of everything but only have pics of them fitted. This is what the new advert says. 14. Dependant on what your after, I've just gone on the bay and the ones I brought are available (i was happy with quality) - '2 bonnet boot gas struts bootlids tailgates parts hatchback ball studs 55cm' Prices range from £9.99 up to £15
  15. Deffo two, if not just to satisfy OCD.
  16. I like the GE 150% brighter that you get at Halfords, thats what I ran in my Scout. Near to winter they quite often go BOGOF so it works out £20 ish a pair. I then ran the Osram night breakers cool blue in full beam - enough of a coating to make the DRL seem a little whiter but not so much that it effected the full beam performance. I had originally tried a really blue bulb in full beam (they were about £15 a pair) to get that white effect on the DRL but the light output was so compromised at night it wasn't obvious full beam was on so i took them out a week later and binned them
  17. I just had a quick look at those - it says the lifespan is 250 hrs. Doesn't seem a lot, based on my driving the bulbs could be shot within 4 months!
  18. Are you looking for front & rear or just rear? Want it in permanently or occasional use. I got one of Amazon for about £22 for occasional use and its ok for what i need it for, the seat belt holes don't line up perfectly as its a generic cover so a bit of rummaging to get the belt in but it serves its purpose. If its for more daily use and you want it neat then you'd probably need to go for a tailored solution which when i looked was around the £70 for rear only.
  19. Its a lot of work (assuming you can get the parts at a reasonable price), also some BCM are compatible some are not. I looked into it and gave up in the end. Your best bet is a decent set of Halogens - those LED and aftermarket kits whilst looking brighter (and being irritating to oncomers) are actually quiet often dimmer when tested on a lighting rig.
  20. I was going to but never got around to it .... like a lot of little jobs!
  21. I brought a pair of Ebay for £8.99 new (unbranded) ---- just checked my ebay history and it describes them as "2 bonnet boot gas struts bootlids tailgates parts hatchback ball studs 55cm" For the amount of time i lift the bonnet they were good enough for me and by not using the bonnet prop I could fill my screen washer up more easily
  22. Yes ... You really want the same brand / model on each axle (as well as speed and load index etc), I would put the same on, if I couldnt then i would consider 2 new ones and flog the 7mm one
  23. There going for nearly £100 on line .... whether anyone actually buys at that price is a different matter. Id have thought its only the Columbus which are worth anything / sell. Always worth a punt on the bay!
  24. So you upgrade to bonnet lifters instead of a prop
  25. Yes --- googling 26498-002 brings back 'Air lift autopilot V2 harness'. My only slight concern is if it did have a lift kit what other suspension related items may have had excessive wear ... bushes etc.
