  1. Hi all, Been over 6 months since I've talked media on USB and after my journey yesterday I think I need to revisit. Getting bit fed up with time it takes after starting car for system to index media before you can use voice commands like "select album". My current setup is one big usb with 1 partition and maybe 200+ albums. Probably equates to 10k+ songs. Has anyone tried setting up more than one partition on usb and splitting media across them to see if: 1. Mib3 can handle multiple partitions on 1 usb stick 2. Does it speed anything up. Ask this as historical posts have stated people have more success with speed on smaller sticks like 32gb. Thanks
  2. Yep same thing I had. Dash shows charger connected. Wouldn't lock and the echarge screen showed charging not started. As soon as I jumped it from flat battery you can hear the charge port lock reinitialising
  3. Still haven't found a fuse or anything that can be pulled to do a complete hard reset of power on car. So you will prob have to wait till 12v battery dead and jump it.
  4. The completely flat battery turns off whatever the power drain is and when you connect external battery everything boots from scratch again. It resolves the issue. When I jump started from battery. As soon as you connected it you can hear the ev charge socket locks starting up again.
  5. Hey all, Glad my Octavia is a company car. Got told today while it was in dealership that you can't have long oil change intervals on the hybrid models. Oil change is every 10k. Going to cost a fortune for any lucky owners
  6. Car went in today to dealer. They put it down to faulty 12v battery and replaced it. Could not see anything else wrong. Will see if it fixes it over Time but expecting the worse. Anyone know of a fuse that can be removed to hard reset power to car completely. If it happens again I want a way of resetting everything running like a completely flat battery and jump start would, as it fixed issue this time
  7. Hi, Just had this exact issue car been in today and they have replaced 12v battery as saying its faulty. Not expecting it to fix it and I think it's a software issue causing something in charge circuit to stay on which stops the locking of cable etc. But will have to wait and see. Im hoping the new battery might resolve some of the other issues I've had recently. Need to find a fuse I can remove to do hard reset on power supply in car. So if it happens again I don't need to wait till battery is discharged so much everything dies and have to jump-start it. (Fixed the issue 2 days before going I to dealer) P.s. they told me they had exact same issue with another car delivered to them on back of AA flatbed last week. Soon as it was jump started everything worked fine again
  8. I've not got traffic sign recog on my Octavia IV but if you haven't got cruise control on it slows down the car and almost drives it at the speed limit alot of the time. Must work of the satnav speed limits in the database
  9. Read somewhere its getting Chat GPT integrated. They can't even get the basic voice control working 🤣 Wonder if the new infosystem software will become an upgrade for us pre-facelifters
  10. @Rooted after my last experience when I took it in for a complete failure to start and they tried to tell me it didnt happen because the car had nothing in the logs. My local dealership probably needs help to use Google or a sign pointing to a recall for same sort of issue
  11. On the user menu by my user name there is a refresh button. This syncs your setup to skoda server again and when pressed should update your climate setting to server. However if you have it setup in app to heat car etc that will probably take preference
  12. You tried turning climate off and then refreshing user with online via user menu so it stores your off setting. If you don't refresh user it will still have climate on saved as setting when it connects on info system start
  13. Thanks Will mention that on Monday at dealership.
  14. After reset to factory settings I just have to login to skoda connect to get user settings etc to download again. Not sure if battery removal will reset car to factory settings and you lose users etc. However my car battery and everything was dead this morning. Got alert from app about alarm around 7am so car battery was so low for 6 hours+ that nothing worked at all (couldn't even unlock) before I got it jump started. Once going again all users and settings were there. So don't think it loses them
  15. Hey all, Had a fun day with the car after a week of the EV charging not working. Last Sunday came out to use the car to find it had not charged overnight and throwing up the low 12v battery error. Charge point would not lock cable or central locking would lock the charge flap. Didn't start working so booked into garage for Monday. Every single day last week the ev battery and 12v was getting mostly discharged overnight. Something draining it all time. This morning car was dead 100%. Had a fun time trying to get into car as u couldn't unlock. Had to use key in passenger door. Didn't help that car was next to wall so I couldn't actually get into it. Had to use a stick to open bonnet. Next issue was my jump leads were in locked boot which I couldn't get as I couldn't get into car due to being to close to wall 😅 Luckily neighbour had a spare battery and jump leads. Attached and central locking worked. Started the car and for the life of me it would not start engine no matter what I pressed. Was trying to work out how to get the spare battery in car and jump leads in the window so I could try and drive it more than off the drive and amazingly it started. After driving round to charge for a while. I filled petrol and while in garage checked the ev charge flap and it locked. Got home and plugged it in to charge. All working again. Guessing the complete discharge has reset whatever software or something that was causing the issue. Still going to take it to dealer on Monday, but expecting them to say nothing wrong with it 😥. Hopefully they will at least attempt a software update on charge system
  16. I'd never recommend anyone having my lease car after I've had it for a few years 😅 If it was a normal none ev they get serviced and fixed mostly if anything goes wrong. So should be mechanically sound. However I treat my EV bad and its stopped charging in last 2 days (going in next Monday for Investigation). Because its not mine I plug It in every night to charge battery to 100% as it saves me petrol. Some days it sits on drive for 48hrs+ with full battery. After 3 or 4 years of that I don't think the battery will be the best. Other people I know with them don't have home charger so they only charge while driving. Think when it comes to EV it will be pot luck on what you get
  17. I used to get this in my Mk3 when battery was low. Car used to turn off PDC and few other things till it was charged enough. The stop start batteries don't hold a full charge and a couple of days of non use can reduce charge that it might need to turn stuff off for a min
  18. I've been driving a DSG for last 10 years and have mostly got used to it. Moving from the mk3 DSG to my Mk4 IV. Generally don't wheelspin the iV unless I'm in sports and really go for it. Most likely due to it having twice the horsepower than my old mk3. But down country roads you can definitely feel the battery. Car is a lot more bouncy and sometimes it does feel a bit light on the front. Had wheelspin in past while overtaking when the car starts to feel like I'm doing a wheely
  19. Mine is a company car. The BIK is really good on the Octavia. If I was buying one I would go for a standard petrol with everything on for the same price 😅
  20. I've got used to turning off lane assist everytime I get in the car. Its 2 quick button presses on the steering wheel
  21. At least Laura still talks to you 😅 Since having mine in June 2023 there have been no end of software issues. I think the forgetting of settings is mostly due to skoda restoring databases from backups every now and then. I used to lose everything in first month or so of ownership. After 9 months it has mostly not happened as my backup must have close to my current settings now. I had a skoda mk3 before and the ASR worked a lot better then. I'm putting it down to the extra weight in back of car from the battery. Imagine the none IV models stick to the road so much better.
  22. Worked it out tonight on drive home. You have to have the phone widget showing in middle of a dial on the digital dashboard. You can then press the roller wheel to highlight phone widget then press right left/right button which opens a sub menu allowing you to end call, hold, etc Not the easiest. But will get used to it after a bit of practise. Next job is to see if it works same way if I initiate call from Android auto. Should do as both over Bluetooth. But I'll wait for daylight to try
  23. I've tried both apps now on my octavia IV and the essentials version seems to work better. The new My Skoda app seems to take ages to refresh for me. Not noticed a single thing different in terms of functionality
  24. Hi all, For the life of me I can't find how to end a call via steering wheel? My mk3 had a button to do it. Only way I've found is to use the touch screen which is a bit hard when bouncing all over the road trying to avoid potholes Is there any way of doing it? Got the columbus version on SEL Thanks
  25. Ah didn't notice I was using the essentials version. Going to download the other one now
