Tire Pressure Monitoring System - any user interface other than "set now as good" and "idiot light"?
Had them on a 407 previously too but they were notorious for rusting and the tip breaking off leaving you with a flat tyre. Mine were going white where the thread for the valve cap is so I had them removed and coded he TPMS monitoring out of the software.

MKIII Pre-Facelift - Retrofit rear USB + inverter?
- Late 2014 Mk3 vRS Combi Daily Driver
Hi Combi_Bob, Mind me asking where you got the remap done in Cork? I have the non-VRS 1.6 diesel and was considering it. A guy I worked with used to take all his cars to KC Systems up in Watergrass Hill, there's also a crowd out in Fermoy I was looking at once to do a DPF delete on my previous car a Peugeot 407 that do re-maps. I like the badges, was considering it too as mine is Candy White but I reckon I'd need to change the grill surround to black too. Slippery Slope- What should a 100,000 miles VRS (in 3 years) have replaced
For 10x the price of that VRS you could afford the Rolls they have in the background- Head unit change?
- Head unit change?
MIB1 are the earlier headunits, I'd be pretty sure yours like my 2015 Octavia, are MIB1, they didn't come with the ability to connect to Android Auto. They were later replaced by the MIB2 units that could connect to Android Auto, later still came the MIB2.5 and I believe the new Octavia mk4 has MIB3. You'd be looking at north of ~1,000 euro, to buy, and code a genuine Octavia MIB2 system for your car. There are aftermarket solutions from the likes of Alpine that look good as they keep the original car menus: https://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/SingleView/i902D-OC3 I can't find a price for the Alpine unit on their site only a link to see if there are any suppliers nearby. There are others on ebay or Aliexpress, just search "android octavia" but I believe you can lose some of the original car menus such as the TPMS display with these headunits as they don't integrate into the existing Skoda system. Annoying if you get a warning light about tyre pressure but cannot open a menu to reset the tyre pressure in memory (for example).- Fuel gauge
I'd trust the needle more than the Maxi Dot. As you said the Maxi Dot goes in units of 5 miles so if it calculates less than 5 miles to refill then it will show 0. I've had my Maxi Dot show 0 miles once, and drove on for just over a mile to the nearest petrol station. Far from ideal as I usually never let it get that low but I was on a dual carriageway and trying to get to the nearest fill up.- Bag in coolant.
I'm a bit confused by this as our 2019 FL Petrol Octavia doesn't have the "mit silikat" on the tank and says G13, my 2015 diesel Octavia is the double walled type with "mit silikat" written on it and also says G13. So does G13 work with both the bag and non-bag tanks?- Access to rear tailgate noisy wiper motor and where to get one to replace existing.
Found my pics here start of page 2. Includes a picture of the back of the boot trim, get your fingers in there and try to get the big one in the middle of one side unclipped, the small ones should just pop out then work your way around once you have more room.- Access to rear tailgate noisy wiper motor and where to get one to replace existing.
If it's a hatchback then first remove that screw on the pull handle and take it off. There should be 6 trim coloured fastners along the bottom of the boot trim 3 either side of the boot latch remove these with a pry tool then it's a matter of pulling out the clips. I had a picture in the thread about retrofitting a reversing camera. Let me see if I can dig that up...- How to remove boot trim and carpet
Might be something of help in Sasha's thread. On pages 3 and 4 she retrofitted a variable boot floor to her car. Might be something in her descriptions that helps.- Amundsen, Colmbus or Belero
Personally I'm a fan of the Samsung Galaxy S-series, just buy the highest number one you can afford or want to pay for, currently using a S7, I think S10 is the latest one. Between me and the missus we've had Samsung S7, S8, Sony Ericsson and Huawei P30 phones and all have worked on my 2015 car and her 2019 car.- Amundsen, Colmbus or Belero
So what was the issue in the end? Any phone should connect to the car as it's done via bluetooth, so unless you have an ancient phone without bluetooth then it should connect. Or do you want to use Android Auto ?- Boot by Candlelight...
- Fuel issue diesel VRS
You really should consider buying a petrol, short journeys like that will be the death of a diesel engine. I had similar commute to work and had nothing but dpf issues in my previous (non-skoda) car. Your car probably isn't even getting up to normal running temp on the drive to work so idling at a higher revs to warm up, mine didn't and it was a 1.6. I changed job and now have an hour long drive to work so bought diesel again, since lockdown and working from home now, all trips to drop kids to school etc are done in the missus petrol car, I learnt the dpf lesson the hard way .- Dynamic Indicators
You can still see the indicator light from inside the car through that little window next to the mirror, not as bright as it used to be but you can still see it during the day and night.- Dynamic Indicators
Bought mine on Aliexpress a year ago https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32912405005.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.2.123319b1BwXbdn&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_1_10065_10130_10068_10547_319_317_10696_453_10084_454_10083_10618_10139_10307_10821_538_537_10302_536_10059_10884_10887_100031_321_322_10103,searchweb201603_2,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=af8e5da2-d0dd-4861-a395-931da44c8b6d-0&algo_pvid=af8e5da2-d0dd-4861-a395-931da44c8b6d Alternatively you can buy from superskoda but these are more expensive.- Paint code
Is it Capuccino Beige ?, is there a F8H on the sticker?. I didn't think the newer cars had a sticker in the boot, I think it's all online now. My 2015 has a sticker, my missus's 2019 doesn't.- Can you retrofit GOLF MK7 GTI seats into Octavia?
There is a thread on here where people have put Audi A3 seats into their Octavia.- 2018 Vrs Amundsen warning
Yeah, looks like you need to put petrol/diesel in the tank- 2019 vRS Skoda Connect Activation or lack of!
Not worth bothering with IMO. Missus got 6 months free when she bought her Octavia last year, I used the app for about 5 mins then never used it again. The only bit I thought might be useful is the map showing where you have parked your car but in the year and a half since we got the car we have never forgotten where it is- OBD 11 Functions listing for 2015 Octy 1.4TSI
Well I have a 2015 Octavia Elegance and so far I've done the Needle Sweep, Fan Speed on Auto, Cornering Fog Lights, Refuel Quantity on Maxidot and Lap Timer. All using instructions in the Sticky Of the ones you listed above Auto fold mirrors - mine do this already, Headlamp wash timer - don't have headlight washers, F&R Sensor deactivation at lower speed - don't have front sensors so haven't bothered with this one, so I'm not much help to you :). You can see a list of the one-click mods in the App without connecting to the Car, just go into the menu then garage then select your car then click Apps. Like others have said there have been people with un-expected issues caused from using the credits so I've never used them, I did the long coding for all mods I've done.- Head unit upgrade
Not the same poster but I reckon its the ebay seller Audiotechdirect, an ebay search for Octavia android brings up this seller as well as others. The Units seem quite deep though, not sure how they fit in an Octavia.- OBD 11 Functions listing for 2015 Octy 1.4TSI
Sticky at top of this forum- Reset and more reset!
Quick search on youtube: Steps: 1. Hold trip reset button 2. While still holding button (step 1.) turn on contact (not the ignition!) 3. Keep holding the button until prompted for inspection service reset message (when message is shown release the button) 4. Push buton to comfirm reset 5. Turn off contact 6. Turn on contact to see service prompt is gone For the battery, just order a new one, get a CR2032 as opposed to a CR2025 and if buying online try to order from a reputable seller as there seem to be a lot of brand name batteries online that don't last as long as they should. - Late 2014 Mk3 vRS Combi Daily Driver
