  1. My best guess is it's an Ambition. My missus has a 2019 Soleil, which is an Ambition spec with extras thrown in, and it has the plain silver trim inside the doors and around gearstick. If I remember right from back when we went to the showroom the Elegance (or SEL) spec had a fancier trim which was mostly black with silver stripes running through it. But I can't find anything on the net to confirm this :). You should have the rain sensor, if the wiper stalk has the picture of the drops on it and a toggle switch on top then it has the auto wipers. Missus car has the puddle lights in the mirrors and 3 USB ports too, same with the infotainment system she has a Bolero with an SD slot but no CD. Strange that you have an AUX port, I thought they did away with it on the facelift model, I have it on my 2015 model but newer models don't have it.
  2. Yeah, used one before in my last car as there was a smell coming from the air con. Engine running, windows closed, set air con to re-circulate the air inside cabin, pop open the can and put it on footwell, get out, close the door and wait Seemed to work that time, not sure if you are talking about Corona Virus though and how effective it would be for that.
  3. I think they used to go Active -> Ambition -> Elegance My 2015 Elegance has the external chrome trim around the windows, which is standard on the Elegance (but could be an 300euro option on the lower specs) and has "fake" wood effect trim on the inside. I think the interior trim is probably the biggest clue, if it's the wood effect then it's the elegance, most other things could be added as optional extras at a cost but not sure if you can spec up the interior trim. Looking at the pic you have posted above you can see the trim on the door and around the gearstick is silver, this is wood effect on my Elegance. If it's the facelift model you have then I think it's different though, they did away with the wood effect, but the trim panels should be a good indicator.
  4. Well the Candy White paint code from my 2015 car is F9E. The Moon White seems to be S9R, there's also a Laser White F9F it seems. https://paintref.com/paintref/make/white_Skoda.shtml Nothing on that badge looks like any of those paint codes unfortunately.
  5. Worked with a guy whose family ran a garage, they had a customer come in complaining of a rattle from the rear of the car, the customer had been going to another garage every few months as they would fix the rattle but it and it would inevitably come back after a few months. Turned out the number plate was loose and the other garage had been stuffing some of that white packaging Styrofoam behind it, which would degrade after a few months and the rattle would come back.

  7. Glovebox unit looks like my MIB1 Bolero which has Bluetooth but no DAB.
  8. Ah those days when I thought I was the mutts nuts with my CD collection stashed on a visor holder and my discman connected to a cassette adaptor so I could listen to my music in my VW Polo . Back on topic, I spoke to a work colleague who used to resolve claims for a Car Insurance Company and he laughed at the idea that a sticker would invalidate your insurance, the biggest thing he said were tyres, they always always check tyres after an accident and if they are not at a legal limit then you are buggered.
  9. Unfortunate typo/autocorrect there mate Not sure if she drives an Octavia, though she probably knows a lot about cameras too
  10. As I recently hired these again for a staycation trip, I'm adding some pics of the official Skoda Roof Bars (apologies for the dirt on them, this was after a 3 hour drive ). Can't speak to putting them on and off as the Skoda Garage I hired them from did the fitting and didn't give me the keys for the bars, just the box. They didn't have the official Skoda box this time so they gave me a SEAT one.

  13. Yes, the one that's in the fuse tap already sits between the 12V and the wire that goes to the dashcam. You need to put the car's fuse in the other side as it sits between the 12V and the other pin that goes into the fuseboard. So for example if you put it into the rear window wiper slot, if the dashcam blows it's fuse then there is still a fuse to the rear wipers so they can work.
  14. You put the original fuse from the car's fuse board into the empty slot on the connector.
  15. Missus has a 192 Soleil and yes wind noise is an issue, seems a common enough complaint, there are threads here where people have added extra rubber around the doors to reduce the wind and road noise. As for the door rattle, not had that in our car, maybe you can adjust that metal ring part on the car body that the door latches to, maybe moving it up or down a few mm might make a better contact ? either that or perhaps it's the leather part of the back seats rubbing off interior trim somewhere back there. Not had any issues with the infotainment, she has the Bolero system. No issues with stitching on the steering wheel either and it's done 17k kilometers at this point.
  16. Wow, they must have really messed up their figures on that one, or else the car was way over mileage or in bad condition, sounds like you had no option but to hand it back if the market was that bad. At the very least you need the car to be worth the Guaranteed Minimum Future Value plus whatever deposit you paid day one at the end of the PCP. Missus had an Opel and at the end of the PCP the Opel garage were offering her the GMFV plus 2k, but she had paid a 5k cash deposit at the start of that PCP so we shopped around and the Skoda garage were offering her the GMFV plus 5k for the Opel and 0% interest so she changed to an Octavia. She's thinking of buying the Octavia at the end of the PCP so we'll see what the story is when that time comes around in a year or so.
  17. Strange, i'm 6'4'' and just over 16 stone and have no issues getting in and out. If I put the seat back fully it feels like my knees are too straight and I can't press the pedals, it feels uncomfortable so I have to move the seat forward a bit. Steering wheel is pulled out as much as possible though 😀.

  19. Here's a video I bookmarked showing a Nextbase being hardwired, seems straightforward enough though I believe the Glovebox can be a bit of a pain to remove and re-install. Only thing is there's an airbag behind the A pillar trim so I'd rather remove the trim and make sure the lead doesn't interfere with the airbag if it ever went off. I've seen people tuck the wire behind the rubber in the door frame too instead of behind the A pillar trim. Not sure if the Nextbase hardwire kit would work for all dashcams that take a micro USB power but I'd imagine similar kits would install the same way.
  20. @EnterName Don't know if they got the descriptions and images mixed up on Amazon but you can buy the Pro pack for £86 on their official site. The Ultimate Pack is £120 on their site while the Pro pack is £120 on that Amazon pic you posted. https://obdeleven.com/en/products-page IMO the Ultimate pack isn't worth it, it comes with extra credits (which you can earn anyway by opening the app) and a carry case. Not worth the extra cost.
  21. Just a query on dashcams, do the screens turn off if driving at night? or dim a bit? Looking at a nextbase dashcam (the 212 if anyone has experience of one) and though it wouldn't bother me driving as it would be kinda hidden behind the rear view mirror and i'd be concentrating on the road, but i'd imagine it might be a different story for the front seat passenger. The screenless ones like the BlackVue are more than what i'm willing to pay but very discrete looking.
  22. must be getting a bit like Trigger's Broom at this point Sasha Is it the same car at all anymore 😄 Keep up the good work, always interesting to read this thread.

  24. Have a watch of this video: Unfortunately I haven't a clue what he is saying but it'll give you an idea what to do
