- is brown and + should be black/violet if I remember well. I dont know what camera do you have, but I cut the RCA and there were 2 wires - black and white, which provided the video signal from RVC via blue connector in head unit. Power connection is from wiper in this case.

The tool is not crap. You just have to push the steel plates - springs at both sides of head unit to release the tool. All these tools will work the same way.

I think your unit might be flashed to mib2.5, so you will change only the display. @pab567 knows more about it, try to reach him via PM

Just to slightly update my retrofit. For those, whose cars are of earlier MYs (MY15 in my case, manufactured 11/14). I couldn't get the camera working in case the parking sensors activated automatically when getting closer to the objects in front of the car. When selected reverse, I got just the OPS view, not the picture from camera. It turned out that my gateway needed newer software to communicate with the camera as well as with the parking sensors module. So, the gateway has been flashed from index AC to AM, camera has been calibrated using special "domino" board. Now it works as it should. Picture from the camera is available immediately after switching the sensors on with the button, even if standing still and it doesn't matter which gear is selected and after automatic activation and selection of reverse, too. Completed.

There aren't separate airbags in each pillar. It's just the label to let you know about it. It's one airbag from A pillar to C pillar. Maybe I'll find a picture of it in promo materials.

I have Thule wingbar evo together with Thule proride 598. I like the simple installation of both.

Well, I've never seen what could the cable do to the curtain airbag in case of its activation, but I also don't want to know for sure. However, it depends if you would like to do it more like original or not and if you prefer 100% safe solution or you would take the risk. It's up to you.

Hi all! I'll give a small bump to the topic. I've fitted this RVC yesterday. The package includes all the necessary wiring as you can see in a photo. Everything seems to be an original part. I put the loom through the passenger side (LHD) along with the original wiring, what means you should remove: - boot lid lower panel - D-column trim - cover for boot lock carrier (doorsill?) - right side boot trim - rear passengers' seats (just the seating part, not the seatback) - right side rear passenger seat trim/airbag - right side front passenger lower trim - glove box I put + to the red-yellow cable in quadlock connector and - at the grounding point under the right side boot trim. Everything went well, no complications, besides the incorrect canbus connection. I followed the guide from vwmodul.de, but I didn't notice that the wires are in incorrect pins, so I had two differently coloured wires (orange-brown, oprange-violet) opposite each other in the final connection. So, I just pulled them out of the connector, changed the pin positions so that same colour connect together and problem solved. It doesn't need to be calibrated, just coded in gateway, park assist and infotainment unit. Camera works well, but in my opinion it has slightly worse image than the old cam. However, I like the benefit of various regimes, dynamic lines and that it doesn't shut off immediately after switching from R to D. It also has a washer, but I hadn't the parts to connect it, so for the next time. If anybody is considering the retrofit, I can recommend.

I have LEDs in turn signals (rear as well as front) bought from Aliexpress and they are working for 3 years now without failure. I had to change one bulb in the rear, because some chips stopped working and the car showed an error. Reached the seller, purchased another pair and got one bulb for free. Hi guys, has anybody here put that microswitch set (5Q0 713 128 A) to a MY13-MY15 car? Mine is MY15 and error appears intermittently, so I am wondering if it depends on the MY or maybe part number of gear selector. Thanks!

Hm, I am not an expert, but I think the electromechanical parking brake might be a requirement for this. I would be glad to have those systems in my car as well, but I have an experience just from the vehicles equipped with EPB.

Hi Rabah, the last one is my post at the Czech forum. The picture was provided by the seller. However, I followed the YouTube video guide in combination with the guide forwarded from another forum member. I have estate, so the video may slightly differ. My camera is lined to the rear wiper connection and video cable is routed through the right side of the car to the infotainment's blue 12 pin connector - pins 6 and 12 (I don't remember which one is ground, but if you have mic connected, it's at the same side like the black wire of mic connection)

What I understand from the workshop manual, liftback does not have drainage hoses in the front, just back. Combi has both and the front hose can be seen after removing the A pillar cover.

Columbus MIB1 itself sounds awful (without canton). My Amundsen is running at 0478. Today I set the equalizer of the amp to be flat, then turned on skoda surround and virtual subwoofer. I have to say the sound was better than flat, but worse than my EQ presets. This amp has its own EQ settings which can be set via phone app.
