Best battery for a Fabia
Oh well, good luck with that one, Lucas used to be a quality name, that was until at least the car parts division was sold on and split up, typically any car product bearing the Lucas name in Europe, is just something that has been made by a company that does not have a "good" reputation and they have hopefully rented the Lucas name to give their products sales appeal. I seem too remember one of the owners of ECP ended up with rights to that name. It would probably have been a lot cheaper over 5 years to have bought a Varta or so as advised, and you did aske for advise I think.

Air Conditioning Not Blowing Cold
VCDS will let you look at what it thinks the gas pressure is, it might just be short of charge and need recharged, or it might have suffered stone damage to the condenser, or worse the evaporator. Do you have mobile car AC systems operators near you, one of them might be your best chance to get it diagnosed and recharged, or even repaired.

lighting alarm
I can not think of any good reason why it would be possible to de-activate this alarm via the car settings(radio) so I would not think there is an option on the car settings to activate it. Have you tried driving the car with the seat belt unclipped, really just to check that the warning buzzer or alarm does still work, in case that is why the "lights on" warning is not working.

Hot-weather starting
Any update on this, some people in warmer places than UK have found that the EVAP solenoid can cause this issue, maybe sounds a bit strange but seems to be true - in a few cases.

lighting alarm
I'll leave this for another Fabia MK3 owner to answer as I have a VW Polo, but I would have thought that you should be getting this warning alarm and that it would not be able to stop it warning you by means of the car settings available to the owner. Come on folks, hand over some help to another forum member!

Poor Handling In Wet
Hum, best to avoid that outlet, but then unfortunately some of us can't, my older daughter bought a prereg SEAT Leon Cupra through in Embra, everything went well, many faults logged in the car's memory at hand over time, but she was tight on free time to pursue that, I've cleared faults a few times and the odd fault returns, okay not AC's fault, but they could have checked cleared and maybe even investigated the original faults at PDI or before handing it over to the owner. I just wonder what will happen on Tuesday when it gets handed in for its first service, it should be getting its memory checked for logged faults , reported and cleared, but will they bother, time will tell.

Poor Handling In Wet
I possibly am a fan of Michelin tyres, but only for summer use when driving North of the Border, it was Exaltos that forced me to start using winter tyres on my wife's Polo 9N in Winter, and a year later Primacy HPs that forced me to do the same thing on my Passat 4Motion, I'll still have Michelin on my shopping list for Summer use on her 2015 Polo when it comes to tyre changing time. Even the local Costco tyre fitter checked the last time I bought some new Exaltos , that I had no plans to use them out of town in Winter, I expected that I had already discovered that!

Rear brake caliper
@delroy, now that things are working as they should, have you ever considered fitting external lever return springs? I did that to my wife's previous 2002 Polo and again to her 2015 Polo when it was new, although on the 2015 Polo it feels that a bit stronger internal springs had been fitted, either way I know that the levers should return to the mechanical stops when the handbrake is off, although in theory the plan seems to be to have them "just" stopping off these mechanical stops.

Seatbelt problems / replacement
If it has 12 points then it will not be Torx but "triple square" which will be "spline" I'd think - there is another name which currently escapes me for these bits. Edit:- known as XZN just look up "triple square" and you will find out all you need to know to get the correct set of bits.

Crap fuel economy
Ha Ha, shocking - but if you take this at face value, with a current computed range of 510miles and an average MPG over the last 1 mile, then hopefully you only put roughly 5 gallons into the tank, or it now has a total of roughly 5 gallons.

Surprise first MOT failure
Gulp! Now to look for a date code, both sides should have similar manufacture date codes, though I'd be leaving that to the supplying Skoda dealership.

Air condition always on?
Yes, all current and previous generation VW Group cars are fitted with variable displacement compressors as part of a "greening" move, it makes a lot of sense whichever way you look at it, compressor is always turning and so passing enough oil mist through the system to minimise leaks at seals and plastic piping, even when chilling the displacement will be aiming to vary to achieve the correct delivery of chilling to the incoming air, so less need for wasted chilling effort being trimmed out by blending in engine waste heat, just more efficient more of the time.

Surprise first MOT failure
I only asked that question in case it was bought second hand and the first owner hit something and found a bice cheap source for a used but still okay headlight, and was not too bothered about if it was RHD or LHD as they were handing it back in, but it does not sound like that at all, what you have hopefully is a lot easier to get sorted out FOC than that would have been.

Yes.

Air condition always on?
Turning it off is not stopping the build up of mould, it is how you use it that either causes the build up of mould or dose not, for instance, as I live further up the UK, I use/need AC for cabin comfort, than maybe you do, but when I use it I normally disable the chiller a few miles before reaching my destination, doing that is boring but it dries out the cabin air box and returns its temperature to local ambient, so no chance of moisture gathering and causing/feeding mould.
-
Air condition always on?
Not true, any chilling effort used will come at the expense of engine output and extra fuel usage, even although it will be normally quite low, there is no such thing as free chilling, energy will always be required.
-
Air condition always on?
It does not make your statement correct though, think about how/why/where the mould is coming from and what conditions promote its survival or growth.
-
Air condition always on?
Using it continuously will not stop mould growth, using it continuously and stopping the car while the cabin air box is still cold will draw in more moisture, and that will cause mould growth which needs killed using an AC "bomb".

Did you buy this car new from a Skoda dealership in UK?

Pollen/cabin filter change.
Maybe try looking on the website of filter manufacturers, like Mann and Henste(sp) Mahle, often when you find "your" pollen filter, there will be a "fitting instructions" to keep you right. Edit:- https://catalog.mann-filter.com/file/Product/MediaAssets/HBHLWH57.pdf

Coronavirus car not used, battery charge?
Good, I'd think that too many people just buy the cheapest and so the smallest O/P solar chargers and get disappointed - or live too far North to get adequate sunlight!!

No not him, maybe it was a trader as he had access to a large number of older cars with discharged batteries. Edit:- this is the one!

He probably uses a solar charger via the OBD2 port as the ciggy lighter socket on SEATs are not powered when the ignition is off, but that would also work on your Skoda, or via the ciggy lighter socket, though make sure that you buy a "good" sized one as the sun has a bad habit of moving and so the solar cell will not be receiving anything like direct sunlight much of the time, I tried one with a SEAT Ibiza but that car had a higher than usual current drain, so that did not keep up with that, Halfords do/did two "sizes" and the higher max output version might work okay. Proper pain in the bum if you can't charge it up from mains though.
