You need to change the brake pads before there's metal to metal contact. However, don't wait that long as metal to metal contact will ruin the brake discs.

No, they won't fit. They are not from the BMW 5 series as the seller claims. They are from a 20 year old BMW 3 series and the rims have the wrong tyre size on. On the BMW they originally came with 205/55R16 but someone has fitted 225/50R16. If they had wanted 225s, they should have changed to 225/45R17 which is a much more common and cheaper size. It depends how you drive it. It's all about economy and low end torque that's the selling point of that engine. Cruising at 56mph on the motorway isn't going to be a problem. Car insurance should also be cheaper with so little engine power. If it had been tuned up to produce 75HP with maximum torque coming in at a much higher 3,750rpm then top gear flexibility would have been ruined along with fuel economy. If the pads/discs are worn more on the inside that could indicate a sticking caliper, although because Skoda cars tend to use one piston sliding calipers they might wear more quickly on the inside anyway.

What battery charger are you using? Many so called automatic battery chargers don't turn off but keep charging at a low level, and as soon as they get a bit of charge in them the charge rate drops to a very low level. If a battery charger keeps charging a car battery that is fully charged, it will damage it.
