  1. Hi, My MY18.5 Superb has 18,000km's on it I have serviced regularly since new. However my last service 12 months ago was for 15,000km's and now says time for another service as the 12 months has elapsed. The next service based on mileage is due at 30,000km. My question is - how important to service based on calendar months versus mileage travelled? TIA, George
  2. I definitely prefer my Trinity's over the Supernovas!
  3. This happened to me and they replaced the lid. No problems since.
  4. Maybe not but one would hope that the sane Russians affected by the sanctions continue to put pressure on the"nutters", to end the war and depose the madman.
  5. Hi @Legion, Not in Sydney, but here in Tassie, I tried to book my car into the the local Skoda dealer and was told it would be 11 weeks before they could service the car! Instead of getting teh car serviced in the 12 month time frame, it was 15 months. (I understand the time is not really critical)
  6. I agree with @ApertureS, the information you can download in 1 hour is substantial. I downloaded 79 files (see the folder structure attached), that included, service manuals, parts and vehicle specific information. Well worth the $A11 it cost me.
  7. Hi @TankTankBoom, from my experience the disk and hub look normal. I had mine detailed last year and the detailer took note of the rusty looking hub and cleaned and sprayed the hubs silver. They look great now. The disks will polish up when used. I'm not sure about the wheel nuts, no issue with mine.
  8. I agree with @JR RS, I find it's great to quickly open all windows (and in my case sunroof) before getting in the car if it's been parked in the sun on really hot days.
  9. Wow! Kudos to you for the effort but for me, I'd have to just go and buy a car with the upgrades inbuilt, otherwise were I to try it, I'd end up the sound system moving my seat or nothing working at all!
  10. It works on mine and scares the bejeezus out of me when it happens. It detects a shrub as I'm reversing out of a spot in my driveway and the wheel is turned towards the shrub.
  11. I had the same issue after I had some work done on the car that involved moving the seat. Like @TerryMcK, I tried the manual reset but it didn't work. A mate had checked it and found a number of faults. Once cleared all was good again.
  12. My car has the "virtual pedal", which allows me to use my foot (a short kick motion under the rear bumper to open and close the boot lid). It is specified as - Virtual pedal-Opening/Closing of 5th doors(only in combination with el. trunklid and Kessy) My wife loves it for the same reason you want it. Check if you have the same?
  13. @Haystack1 I wasn't aware, I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up. I bought my car used as it was driven by the manager of the Skoda dealership. It had 7000kms on it so still was new to me. I'm not sure how that affects the options for top-up?
  14. I’m tied to Skoda servicing as I took out the $1600 service plan. I have a great mechanic who services my other car, so I’ll check out the options before going back to Skoda at the end of the plan.
  15. Good luck. They use electronic service records in Australia. With the old MySkoda app, my service records were there, Since they "upgraded" it has gone backwards from my experience - no service records show now. Add to that and the Skoda dealer in TAS advised me 3 weeks ago that the earliest they could service my vehicle was March 25! I have contacted Skoda Australia and get no response. The QI codes are used to determine service intervals. Each numeral represents a different schedule for that car. I.e. if yours is a QI4, then the service interval is every 15000kms or yearly, whatever comes first. Check it out here I hope you have better luck than myself.
  16. Here in Australia, the Skoda app MyŠkoda provides little or no information since they "upgraded" the app. No longer does it show any service history as it did before. At least your dealers communicate with you. I get a blank look from the dealer and no response from Škoda Australia.😡
  17. Thankfully that Fx rate doesn't translate to what we pay here in Oz!
  18. I did what @JR RS has suggested and paid (if I recall correctly) 7 Euro ($A11) for a 1 hour window and downloaded 79 files (1.2Gb) giving me everything I need to know (and more), specific to my car and workshop manuals. Well worth it IMO! Cheers,
  19. I have "Speed-related variable steering (servotronic)" and DCC. Is that the same as "progressive steering"?
  20. I upgraded with a 64Gb USB stick. I have a iMac so I had to remove the extraneous files that the Mac OS puts on the USB or SD before uploading into the car.
  21. Hi @john999boy 10kw 2x SMA5000TL-21 inverters. Cheers
  22. Hah - It looks like we use similar products. I washed mine today with Bowden's Own "Snow Job", then Meguire's "Gold Class" Car wash and finished with Bowden's "Boss Gloss".
  23. Can anyone tell me if the Skoda Connect services are available in Australia? Since they amalgamated the two apps to MySkoda, I no longer see my service history, my car image is replaced by a generic Skoda Superb. I see Vehicle Status (Mileage, Oil Change & Service Inspection), Vehicle Health report (Lights, Engine, Tyres, Brakes,Comfort, Assistance & Other) and Trip Planner. There are none of the remote controls (windows, doors etc.) that I have seen on the UK version. Thanks.
