  1. After 3 years of ownership it finally hit me how to hold the false floor in the boot up! The parcel shelf hooks have dual purpose - to latch the parcel shelf to the boot lid and also to hold the false floor. At last, I no longer need to hold it with my head so that my hands are free to pull out things πŸ˜…πŸ™ˆ
  2. Usually this means that the camera and/or radar are blocked with dust, snow, ice. I get similar issues sometimes and even if I clean the debris I still have to restart the engine to stop the beeping after I clean them. On my older Octavia I had the same issue with the radar (no camera), but it would beep just once and if I clean it then in 5 minutes it will be functional again (no need to restart the engine).
  3. The full led tail lights 🀀. How to retrofit??? πŸ€ͺ
  4. I must say that compared to Octavia my current Karoq can carry 2 sets of wheels thanks to the varioflex seats. In addition this summer I had to transport a desk 160x80cm and all I had to do is remove 2 of the rear seats and push the passenger seat forward and it fit nicely. I used to have Octavia estate and I did a lot of Ikea trips and my current Karoq is not much worse of space, just the times (Corona) and the number of children has changed πŸ˜‚
  5. You should be able to connect wirelessly since from 2021 Karoqs come with MIB 3 which has wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto support.
  6. I have not decided on a specific make or model, but Bissell seems reasonably priced and with good reviews: 1. https://www.amazon.se/BISSELL-SpotClean-flΓ€ckrengΓΆrare-tygmΓΆbler-36988/dp/B07GXS35PG/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1VVU8Z0QYUDDK&dchild=1&keywords=bissell&qid=1633950596&sprefix=bissel%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-3 2. https://www.amazon.se/SpotClean-Professional-flΓ€ckrengΓΆrare-tygmΓΆbler-1558N/dp/B075LJWKCY/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1VVU8Z0QYUDDK&dchild=1&keywords=bissell&qid=1633950596&sprefix=bissel%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-4 Rug Doctor is not sold directly in the Swedish Amazon from what I can see.
  7. I have the varioflex seats so removing the seats was easy, then below the seats you have 5 plastic rivets that you can remove by hand (3 of them are screws, the other 2 you just pull out) and then you can pull out the carpeted plastic plate. Then you get the exposed metal and some wiring for the seats sensors. There are two pockets that have collected almost all of the liquid. It looked quite a lot harder to pull out the footwell carpet and I think there was very little to none spilled liquid there, so I am not sure how do you remove the carpet in there.
  8. "What have you done to your Karoq today?" - I've spilled some coca cola (400ml) in the trunk and under the rear seats! Long story short, I've removed the rear seats and the carpet under them and cleaned off a lot of it, but I plan to get an extractor vacuum for Christmas and clean the carpet deeper. The seats and upholstery were not affected and most of the liquid was contained in the pockets under the carpet under the rear seats. It could have been worse πŸ˜…
  9. I forgot to mention - in order for the travel assist to be able to resume the adaptive cruise control, first you need to turn it on by pulling the lever of the ACC towards you. (I can't edit the original comment any more 😦)
  10. The left one lets you turn on/off assistance systems (e.g. lane assist, blind spot, etc), and the right one turns adaptive cruise control and lane assist at once, so it is useful if you are on the highway and you want to turn everything at once or if you are in a slow moving traffic (traffic jam assist). The right one is way more useful than the other buttons around it
  11. I feel like my car (Karoq 1.5TSI, 2021) has the same sound when idling cold. It also sounds similar to when the "Eco" / ACT sign is on while driving. I think it's just the sound of the engine running on 2/3 cylinders instead of 4 I am quite sure that the sound is louder sometimes compare to other times, so it is not like every single time when I start the car I hear it (for some reason). I can't wait to get an EV. WLTP has ruined the ICE cars 😞 Meanwhile, turn the radio on or enjoy Spotify on your wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto and don't let the pup-pup-pup sound annoy you.
  12. I live in Sweden and I too can no longer find Braga wheel listed on the local Skoda parts retailer website. I suspect that they have new more aerodynamic wheels and they wont sale the originals to meet more strict emission regulations or some other BS excuse 😞
  13. Many French manufacturers offer minivans or similar size versions of their cars, which have more space on the middle seat and usually even a pair of isofix points and a 7 seater version. E.g. Peugot 5008, Citroen C4 SpaceTourer. The only German cars with enough room for isofix points in the middle seat are of the rang of Audi Q7 or minivans like VW Sharan or Touran / Seat Alhambra. I think Renault Grand Scenic has a 7 seater version, so you can assume it is just designed to be a more spacious car and the middle seat is bigger. Skoda does not offer minivan-like models and the closes you can get to a large 7 seater is the Kodiaq, but even that model has no isofix pair in the middle seat, which makes it inferior to a proper minivan. I’ve fitted 2 kids and a mother in-law for 3 hours long trip on the back seats and there were no complaints. If you have large adults that will seat there for many hours and often, than the space might feel cramped πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  14. I suspect you need to have "Amundsen" (not Bolero) to get the directions in the VC.
  15. Enclosed LED fixtures would overheat and get damaged. They need to have some way to get ventilated, which is probably how the moisture gets in. https://lampslab.com/led-bulbs-ventilation/
  16. I had the same error when I charged my phone on the Qi charger initially, but since then I have figured out that if I turn the phone around (upside down with the screen pointing upwards) then the error disappears. I suspect that the Qi charger coil aligns poorly if you phone is too big or too small, so rotating it 180ΒΊ while the display still points upwards aligns the coil better for my iPhone 12. The cause for your error might be faulty Qi charger of course, but I suggest to test it out in case this solves the issue for you.
  17. Is it possible that you have set the maximum allowed opening to halfway by accident? Try pushing the boot to the desired height by hand and long press the button as show here - https://youtu.be/kyHW-xeSEuY The closing down problem sounds like a more serious issue (sensor or motor).
  18. It works surprisingly well, my wife and I are sharing the car (MY 2021) and we both use only CarPlay because the built in navigation seems much harder to use. To answer your question: There is no need to connect via usb-c - connection via bluetooth (wifi?) works perfectly fine all the time and I only pull out my phone to charge it in the Qi charger if my trip is longer than 20-30 minutes or if my battery is low, so majority of the time your car key and phone never leave your pocket and you will never forget to take your phone from the car by mistake (major life improvement!!!). When both of your phones are within the reach of the car, then the one that was connected last will be automatically reconnected to the infotainment unit. In case you want to switch to the other phone you need to go in the main screen of the CarPlay (the grid layout with apps) and press on the Skoda "app" which will exit the CarPlay screen and return you to the Skoda infotainment UI, where you will be presented with a list of available CarPlay devices to connect to and then you just pick your device and you are done. As a bonus if you use Apple Maps for navigation you will receive the navigation instructions in the VC in addition to the infotainment screen -
  19. I've decided to buy something less heavy duty, but more practical and easier to store - https://www.amazon.se/gp/product/B00VSWN682/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I am not sure what the name of the material is or the actual purpose, but it folds to a small volume and I can keep it in the side pocket in the boot. Its only purpose is to protect the boot or seats from dirt and mud or to cover the dashboard if the car sits in the sun when it is really hot outside. It seems durable enough, but not as much as a real rubber liner of course. I suspect that there was a pricing error when I bought it, because its current prise is 10 times higher compared to when I bought it few months ago (back then it was 12 SEK which is roughly 1 GBP :D)
  20. Are you sure you are doing it right? There are 2 straps you need to pull to make the middle seat tilt upright just as much as the other 2 seats. First you pull one of the straps, then the seat folds to 90%, then you pull the second strap that is revealed and then the seat folds extra bit and then you push it up right.
  21. I think I've found it in the new manual: https://digital-manual.skoda-auto.com/w/en_GB/show/d250755b4d6a2f9f5bf5b382ab4bc43b_10_en_GB?ct=d250755b4d6a2f9f5bf5b382ab4bc43b_10_en_GB#titled110514630e161883 You should turn off "Road layout preview - Switch the cruise control on/off according to the road profile (e.g. reduce speed before a bend)" and "Speed limit preview - Switch the speed control on/off according to the permissible speed" and this will effectively turn off the predictive cruise control.
  22. This is the so called "Predictive cruise control" which I turned off few weeks after getting the car, because it is dangerous to drive with it Go into the infotainment system settings for the assistive systems and one of the settings (either for the traffic sign recognition or the adaptive cruise control) has a checkbox whether the set speed for the cruise control should be affected or not by the traffic sign recognition. It is probably explained somewhere in the manual, but I can't find a pdf version any more and it is hard to find the information the current way. Also check out this topic:
  23. Apple maps also warn you for speed cameras, so there are more alternatives to chose from
  24. It is the button to release the semi-automatic trailer hitch
  25. Besides lubricating the expanding rivet with soap, I can recommend to push its pin just a millimetre in in advance, so that it will move much easier once you put it in the whole. It seems the pin is stuck at first until you get it moving at least a bit.
