Thanks. I’m kicking myself as I literally did a post on the superb forum to someone saying about watch the battery voltage as it can cause a crazy dashboard lights if it drops down during coding! Then completely forgot my own advice about 2 days later!

Yes, will do this sometime between now and tuesday just to see if I can rectify anything and its not banging too much driving to garage. Dont want to damage the shock and end up spending even more! Garage is only 1/2 mile from home so hopefully be ok.

Other side you can hardly see as the spring is in the way, which suggests the drivers side spring is not seated properly. You can just about see the "pigtail" of the spring is sat nicely on the metal ring at the bottom of the top mount. On drivers side this metal ring is at the bottom of the shock... At least new top mounts needed and possible springs. Will be replaced in pairs whatever it is.

Let’s hope so. I’ve managed to convince myself that I DONT need bilsteins all round with lowering springs just because one front top mount has failed. So far anyway. From what I can see it looks like the spring isn’t seated correctly so think it is the topmount. But at least the mounts look like they have been replaced so paperwork seems legit just annoying they’ve failed so soon. Of the mileage is legit that is!

Went to take the kids to school this morning and had a loud bang and feeling of something forcing past each other with a typical twang of a spring when turning lock to lock. Left the car on the drive and droped the kids off in the wifes car. Looking at what I can see of the strut with the wheel on it looks like a metal shim or cover of some sort has dropped down over the shock. I am suspecting top mount. Which is annoying as it (alegedly) had new top mounts and shocks 20,000 miles ago according to the paperwork I got with the car. But this was the same garage that put the pollen filter in upside down so who knows! Booked in with local independant garage round the corner for Tuesday so will see whats what then. Might get them to change the rear discs and pads while theyve got it too as I was going to do that myself soon anyway.

I think this is a mistranslation of Passenger rather than Right. i.e. Passenger mirror down (Right for LHD, Left for RHD) I am not aware that its possible to have drivers mirror dip too. Im not sure i would want to as even with the reversing camera I still check mirrors and over my shoulder for pedestrians/objects in blind spot. When reversing into a bay or against kerb the passenger mirror is enough to line up properly.

True on the learning. Mine has a little scuff on the near side rim and it’s very obvious.

Yes low battery voltage seems to give lots of random errors as the individual control modules start to lose communication with each other. For 2023 is it still under warranty? Seems unusual for the battery to be failing already. Might be worth returning to the dealer and getting them to look.

Think the dealers do now more diagnosis than normal garages and then start replacing parts. From the limited dealings I’ve had with them, a good independent specialist is far superior to OEM.

I have a white estate too and would love to black out all the chrome. Did you wrap or paint them? or buy OEM parts?

SOLVED It was battery voltage all along. I’ve seen so many posts on this forum of Christmas tree dashboards and people being told it’s low voltage but for some reason it didn’t register with me at the time. Took the car for 10 Minute blast up the A14 and then turned everything electronic off and plugged in. Cleared all fault codes without issue. Scanned again and just 2 codes that I know about still showing. Phew. Kept it plugged in for 5 min drive home and showing 14.3 volts so I’m happy it’s charging ok.

I think it’s the right profile but I think maybe battery voltage was low. The car had been sat for an hour or so with internal lights on and then headlights on when the ignition was turned on to connect to obd. I read on an Alpha forum of someone having similar issues with Bluetooth obd. Will take the car for a 10 min drive and try again.

I’m hoping someone can advise. This evening after cleaning my wife’s kodiaq I thought I would plug in my obd module and have a scan. Not done hers before but done plenty of bits including coding on my MK3 superb. I selected what I thought was the right profile and scanned for codes no problem. A couple of historic ones for door locks came up so I tried to clear them. The dash lit up like a Christmas tree with every warning light going. And the trouble codes is now full of communication errors. My wife saw this occurrence and I reassured her I know what I’m doing but I don’t think she believed me… So I’m turning to the forum for some technical advice and hopefully to restore marital bliss! Cycling the ignition cleared the warning lights but the faults in the scan remain. Car is a 21 plate facelift 1.5tsi DPCA kodiaq mk1. I selected the profile based on the engine code but now I’m thinking it probably should have been the EVO one despite it not mentioning Kodiaq. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I found bristos to be very lacking. Vindis in Bury St E are a bit better. I did notice when scanning the modules it says “last coding date” so would be relatively easy for them to scan it and see it’s been played with.

Thanks. It’s in for service at the end of the month so I’ll ask them to have a look when it’s up on the ramp Ok so it’s probably not far off this. I need to log when I buy it so I can be certain of usage I think.

Since getting my Superb in November I think it’s used 25L or so of Screenwash. I have changed the headlight wash to be 1 in 20 rather than 1 in 10 but it’s still using a lot. I know the roads have been mucky with salt and dirt etc so it gets used quite a bit but gut feel is it’s excessive. It’s not a faulty sensor either as when it alerts me to low level it will take 4L or so to fill it up. Is there any common places for Screenwash to leak? Does your superb use lots of Screenwash? It doesn’t let you operate the Screenwash with the bonnet open so it’s not possible to run the pumps and see if there’s any leaks.

I’m 99% certain that it’s not possible at all on facelift. So definitely not worth the risk. I only half read the pinned thread on it hence why I went in head first and managed to wing it first time!

Is it facelift as I don’t think the mods work for facelift models. It would be worth accessing the page and seeing which dataset you have. Theres 3 or 4 versions that I’m aware of with screen shots from this and the boot opening pinned thread that shows the parameters. If it’s not listed on one of those I wouldn’t risk it as it seems that you can’t just revert changes back like you can with other carscanner coding.

Do you have source or part number for the Audi luggage flap. I’ve seen them on Audis but can’t find them anywhere to buy.

Are all parts you are using OEM? Or all from AliExpress? Does the kodiaq have the warning lights on the glass or the mirror covers? I’m thinking about adding this to my Superb but was looking at the generic kits and then thought about connecting the indicator wiring to OEM lights in the mirror caps.

Fitted the wheel nut caps today and looks much smarter. I feel a bit lost without pending deliveries and parts to fit. Roll on payday to order the brakes. Also need to change the rear pads on my wife’s Kodiaq.
