  1. There must be a point where you’re paying for name. Should a sweet spot of value vs performance! That’s why I tend to go middle of the range ish.
  2. Brembo ok too I would guess? I think front are ate but not sure if ceramic.
  3. I’ll go for mid range price from euro car parts. Probably low end brembo or eicher. I’ve got dark wheels anyway so I don’t worry too much about brake dust!
  4. It’s worth contacting the seller. I’ve seen on some pages that two wires in one of the plugs need swapping for certain vehicles. With mine (superb mk3) it takes about 5 seconds for it to deactivate.
  5. I need to do the discs and pads on mine. A job for after pay day!
  6. Just had a look at the old bulbs. The osram was manufactured march 2016 and the Phillips Jan 2017. Hopefully the LED ones will last as long!
  7. One had started to flicker and gone very yellow. That one looked newer and was an osram xenarc. The other was a Phillips. I wonder if one was original?
  8. There’s this one too from @JR RS for the 2 to 2.5 upgrade
  9. Full service completed and no issues raised. They didn’t have time to do DSG service and brake fluid change so that is booked in for a couple of months time. Fitted LED headlight bulbs as recommended by @AL2772. https://ebay.us/m/GEjuI6 Definitely not an easy fit and don’t even bother trying to do them without taking the arch liner out. But once it is out it’s not too bad a job. Had one fault come up when first installed but cleared the code and now all good. Much brighter and clearer than the previous bulbs. Also updated the MIB software following @JR RS brilliant guide
  10. Not sure how well It comes out in the photos but the bulbs are brilliant. Nice white colour, great projection and no dazzling. Not been flashed by anyone yet anyway. I don’t have many before pictures but the old bulbs were two different sorts so at least they’re a matched pair! First pic is with the old bulbs. (Different road though)
  11. Updated MIB unit to the latest software following this guide: Only visible change is the Canton logo on the startup screen. Pretty straightforward once I had found the right software to download and all done in about 40 mins.
  12. All sorted and worked perfectly. Took about 40 mins to install. Thanks!
  13. I have found them under the following path: https://mibsolution.one/#/1/9/MHI2%20-%20HARMAN/Firmware/Skoda This is different to the screenshots in the guide
  14. Finally got the headlight bulbs fitted. Shout out to Needham Market branch of Hadleigh Tyre services for the use of their ramp and torx screwdriver to remove the seemingly hundreds of screws holding the arch liners in. Not a bad job once the liners are out though. I went for these bulbs on the recommendation from @AL2772 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286024506495 Just under £30 delivered with an 8% discount code offer currently on. Will get some photos tonight when its dark.
  15. Tempted to make my own but hopefully the new bulbs will last a good while.
  16. Whoever invented the headlights on Superb 3 needs shooting. Thought I’d give it a go without removing arch liner and have ended up with the bulb out but can’t get the new one in. Now going to run to mates local garage and get it up on the ramp to get the bulbs changed. Hoping driving with a bulb disconnected won’t do too much damage! Will keep the switch off.
  17. Hi, just looking at this guide. Is it still valid? Had a look at MIB solution and there doesnt seem to be a firmware folder?
  18. In for full service today at the local independent VAG specialist. Nice to see prices clearly on display. Prices seem fairly reasonable to me.
  19. @JR RS has a guide for upgrading to 2.5 and the bigger screen. I believe the main unit just needs software and then you add the screen as part of the upgrade process. There are other threads about VC. I believe with 2.5 and VC you can’t get the maps on the vc as that would need mib3. Also I think you might need a new bcm but others will probably Correct me on that.
  20. I know theres been a lot of issues historically reported due to those lights. I fitted some recently and have no issues at all.
  21. This is as much detail as the manual shows. You can lift the trim, disconnect the switches from each side of gear stick and parking brake switch and then press out the other trim round the gearstick and twist it through the hole in the outer frame to take the outer frame off completely. But I don’t think you would need to do that that get the ashtray out. Just release it and push it back far enough to get to the two screws (7) in the image. If you do disconnect plugs from the switches and parking brake etc you will get all sorts of errors. Dont worry they will clear when you plug everything back in.
  22. You’ll need trim tool and Torx (20 I think) screwdriver. Pop up big frame round gearstick. It’s easiest at the front first. Then there’s 2 Torx screws to remove on the front edge of the ashtray area. Pop up the usb/12v fitting. Remove the wires from usb/12v/aux. The catches are all different and a bit fiddly. You can then pull out the ashtray unit. Beware there’s a wire at the back first the led light so don’t pull out too hard! I’ll screen shot the pages from the manual for you
  23. Do you mean centre in front of the gearstick or the one next to the steering wheel?
