Door speaker part code
Hi. One of my front door bass speakers has no sound and the other is crackling badly. Does anyone know the correct part number as there seems to be at least three or four variants 3V0 035 411 (A, J, K or L?) Or as I’m in there changing speakers is it worth going aftermarket? Car is 65 plate SE L Executive 190 TDI DSG with standard (not canton) speakers.

Workshop P
Hi. I had this intermittently and just bought the bypass kit from aliexpress. Cost about £30 and took about an hour to install. A bit fiddly but not too bad. Check carefully the part number, as there are two for the white top gearbox where the part number is the same except for one doesnt have an A at the end. Im pretty sure the one without A is the one you need. This is the exact one I bought: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009808126126.html Have a play with the plugs before you install so you can work out how they release, and get yourself some decent trim removal tools. You will also need Torx 10 and Torx 8 screwdrivers (I think) From memory this was the process: Ignition on and shift to N. Ignition off as much as you can. Remove trim from around gear stick (The trim with the buttons including parking brake etc) Push out from this trim the small surround for the gear stick Disconnect all wires from these trims and wiggle the larger trim off to give more access, then pull the small trim up until the leather gaiter is inside out. Pull up mounting for 12v socket/USB and disconnect all wires (This was quite tricky as every plug seems to have a different catch system) undo 2x torx 10 screws holding in "ashtray" and remove. Undo the interior light wire from this or I just tucked it to one side and left it hanging. I had to rip out some bits of foam from around the top of the gearbox for access. I just placed these back in place once done. Using a long thing screwdriver push the blue tab on the connector just in front on the left of the gearbox top to release the original plug. Then contort fingers in about 20 directions to connect the new plug and the existing into the bypass kit. Undo 3x Torx 8 screws on top of the white plastic and fit switch using supplied longer screws. Loosen off the two screws in the slider slots on the new switch Shift to P Pull switch hard against the gearstick shaft and tighten up the two slider screws Move from N to P a couple of times to check operation. You should hear the relay clicking in the fusebox. DON'T be tempted to turn the ignition on, as you will get a whole host of errors as all the buttons are disconnected. They clear once all reconnected but did make me panic a bit! Refit all the trim panels in the reverse order of above making sure wires are tucked out the way of the trim clips etc. Start car and operate park brake on and off a few times to clear any errors. Shift to P and make sure its happy! Unfortunately I didnt take any pictures as I was doing it. I might do whenever I work on the car in future so that I can post here to help others. Also while you are in there might be worth installing the start stop memory module. Well worth it in my opinion. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009424334938.html

Front cigarette lighter replacement
thanks. my issue with the AA/carplay wireless is always the "what about charging" issue. My phone battery is pretty poor now so the charging from plugging in every time is needed. I was thinking of rerouting the standard usb port to the arm rest to remove the need for trailing wire but this is a really neat solution.

Hi. What’s the 90degree usb cable for? So you have charger in the arm rest? Thanks

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Hi 100% plug and play. The yellow plugs are quite tight to push together, and I had to do a hard reboot of the radio for it to recognise the camera (press and hold power button until it restarts) If you have an electric tailgate the inside of the button is a bit awkward to get to due to the closing motor but it can be done without removing it. There’s various versions on this link for different button types but it’s camera A that I ordered. https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExXiDWk You will need some cable pulling rods to be able to route the cable. And fitting all the cables back in behind the radio is a bit of a pig. There’s a couple of good videos here for fitting/cable route. Don’t worry about the cabling on the richter one, you don’t need to be splicing wires with this camera.

I only had the fault intermittently but haven’t seen it since installing it. Getting to the plug is a pig to remove it from existing. And there’s 3 versions of the switch so you have to make sure you get the right one depending on your gearbox. One is only different by part number by one “A” at the end of the part code. But I left the pin in as I didn’t have any instructions. There’s a couple of screws to adjust the switch position once it’s installed so I used them to make sure it was in the right place. You can hear a relay clicking when the switch activates to make sure it’s right. Seemed to go ok and not seen the fault since. My switch was £27 from AliExpress.

Cheap and cheerful mods
Hi. I’ve recently picked up a late 2015 SE L Exec 2.0Tdi DSG in moon white myself. My work on it so far have been cosmetic/ functional and it’s already had some simple things done. The wheels have been recently refurbed in dark grey and the calipers painted red, the interior lights have all been changed to bright white LED and it’s had the AdBlue coded out as well as a few other bits and pieces added to the options menus with VCDS in the past. So far I’ve done: Start/stop memory module from AliExpress Chrome bumper protector strip (to cover some scuffs on the paintwork) AliExpress reversing camera Replacement top for DSG lever Switch to top of DSG to correct “Workshop only” fault Floor Mats Number plates and frame holders Replace parking ticket clip that was broken Next on the list is to obtain a proper spare wheel and tool kit as I’ve only got the pump and foam, and the foam is out of date. I also need to replace the parking brake switch as the chrome is chipped, and the gear lever leather has seen better days so that’s on the list too. I’d love to do black badges and black out all the chrome as I think it would look really good against the white. But there’s quite a lot of chrome including the roof bars, window trim and grille. So that one will be for the long list. I also don’t want to go spending too much on it until it’s had its next service and had a once over from the local specialist garage just in case there’s any nasty surprises. Most of my parts have come from AliExpress and I was initially sceptical but all of them have been spot on so far.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Today I fitted an AliExpress reversing camera. All in all not too bad to fit. Just some awkward trim panels and cable routes. Had to hard reset the radio for it to recognise it but working nicely now. And for only £36 vs £770 that Richter advertise it for.

The mod that removes the “warning workshop only shift to P” error. It’s a dodgy switch on the top of the dsg that you can retrofit to the top of the shifter housing under the trim. There’s a genuine vag part for it but I got a copy from Ali express for a quarter of the price.

This evening I fitted the parking switch to the dsg. Not too bad of a job and the only awkward bit was disconnecting the plugs for the usb and power sockets. And also getting in to the impossible location for the plug for the switch itself. Once that was done the rest was ok.

What obd connection profile to use?
Just invested in a cheap Amazon obd module and tried using car scanner app on iOS. It gives you a whole host of options for connection profile as per the picture, plus more. My car is a 2016 SE L Executive with the 2.0tdi 190PS engine and DSG. The basic obd profile at the top seems to bring up the code I was expecting to see (one glow plug out currently) but just wanted to make sure I was getting the most out of it possible. Thanks

What have you done to your Superb III today?
I went for this one off aliexpress https://a.aliexpress.com/_EvNdlEu The reviews said it was tight to fit the wiring in but it seemed ok to me. I just had to untangle some of the wires that were already there and be careful ticking them down as you put the trim back. The trim removal tool it comes with is perfect for the job too. Easiest done with the car in N. It’s better than coding it out as it allows you to still use the button, it just remembers the setting from the last time you used it.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Just 3 days in to owning my old but gold (65 plate, 123,000miles) Superb having had a Fabia for the last 4 years. Replaced number plates today as they were a bit faded. Looks much smarter now. Also ordered a new DSG shift knob top as the chrome is peeling. And a start stop memory module. Both off Ali express. Will install DSG selector switch at the same time as installing these when they arrive. Only seen the fault pop up once but not since, but will fit the switch anyway. Future plans is a bumper protector from kopacek to cover up some damaged paintwork, and also need to refit my dashcam. Otherwise plan is the keep it as is, change fluids regularly and see how many miles I can put on her.

I have returned to a Superb 3 and I have a couple of questions
After a 4 year hiatus in a Fabia, I have traded up/down to an older higher mileage, but infinitely higher spec Superb 3 SE L Executive, 2.0TDI, 190 DSG and I am already in love again! A couple of questions though. This model has AdBlue, the range is showing 0 but there is no warnings etc. Does this mean that at some point it has been coded out and I don't need to worry about putting AdBlue into it? Also does anyone know if its possible to recode the physical buttons on the infotainment. I would like one of them to point directly to smartlink but there isnt an "APP" button on this unit. Thanks

Looking for black grill surround facelift model
Hi I started on my quest to dechrome my mk3 facelift and have hit a wall. I’m looking for the trim for the front grill surround in black. I know u can go oem but I think it’s ridiculous to pay £150+ for a relatively small piece of plastic trim. I bought one off eBay but it was incorrectly described as the facelift version. All other aftermarket sources I can find seem to be out of stock. Any idea on cost to wrap just that part in situ? It looks like it would be nearly impossible to remove in one piece to paint it. Any ideas?

Modifying Your Fabia MK III
I’m so glad I found this thread. I posted in the general mk3 thread and got slated. I think most people on this forum aren’t in to modified cars! I started my driving career with a fairly mildly modified mk3 golf. Mostly a mad stereo tbh! I Stuck with vag throughout and now ended up with a mk3 facelift fabia. Planning on buying it outright in October and then gradually modifying it. Plan is: dechrome (badges seem available but not sure on grill surround. Any ideas welcome) wheels need a refurb and may change them to black. But I like the design better tyres Osram nightbreaker headlight bulbs lowering springs. Will do shocks when they need changing polyurethane bushes if they are available monte carlo roof spoiler possibly racing line intake kit, but they aren’t selling them at the minute due to a n engine management light fault then the more expensive mods that are beyond my personal capabilities: cat back exhaust stage 1 remap ill give her a wash this week and post some stock photos and start saving up for the buy out and the mods! Edit - some pics of the golf if anyone is interested. All the work was done by me learning things the hard way at 17!

Racingline 1.0 TSI intake kit
Hi. Thanks for the detailed reply. Initially I think it will be some subtle styling mods first. But I really liked the sound this kit adds of induction and turbo flutter. So may be that rather than remap. Any changes I make will be reversible so I will have options down the line.

Racingline 1.0 TSI intake kit
Has anyone fitted one of these? I love the sound of it and it’s a logical step if I want to progress to a remap. https://www.racingline.com/air-intake-upgti-10tsi-vwr12upgt I notice they have paused shipping this due to a EMF light issue. Does anyone know if this affects Skoda’s? I’m aware I can contact them, just thought I would ask on here first.

Mk3 Fabia Owners Register
Mk3 facelift 1.0TSI SE Drive 71 plate 5 door. Dark grey metallic. bought ex showroom but factory spec included sat nav, 16inch alloys, front and rear parking sensors. I was going to trade it in at the end of the PCP but decided to keep it. I need to refurb two of the wheels, after that I’m planning to do some minor mods and possibly more. Ideally: dechrome lowering springs upgrade headlight bulbs intake kit remap

Help! CarPlay menu has moved from right to left
Mk3 fabia. For some reason tonight the menu has moved from right side of the screen to left. I hate it! And why has it suddenly changed?! anyone know how to move it back? Apparently it’s a car setting rather than a CarPlay setting but I can’t find it in the menu anywhere! thanks!

Kodiaq adaptive cruise control & lane assist retrofit
It took me far too long to read and look up your username! I understand now. Nice to know this is possible. Car is currently on PCP for another 2 years but if we end up keeping it we will definitely get this upgrade.
