  1. I bought it at 30k mile and now 34k miles. Didn't do it to start with, noticed it a month ago or just over. Spark plugs to be changed @60k, so not done. Air filter wasn't done, as done at last service and only done a few thousand, spose to be good for 20k miles. Though I could take a look. I'd usually change it, but I had a garage do the service to keep my 2 year warranty valid. Next year I'll be doing it myself. Normally run it on BP ultimate, but do use Tesco 99 sometimes. Very occasionally E10. No VAQ diff.
  2. @Dooge yeah, I'd agree with that. It's definitely rough, it's not a drop in RPM and still smooth. Just been serviced, was doing it before and after.
  3. Hi all, 2.0tsi, DSG, 2017 MK3 Octavia VRs Occasionally I get a slight drop in RPM at idle. On my Audi, I'd plug in the VCDS, run a throttle body reset and all was good. Can you do this on my car, also with OBD eleven? I have VCDS, but it's old and doesn't talk to all my modules and no doubt it won't talk to that one, but could check.
  4. Can't you bend a metal rod, coat hanger or similar and use as a caliper to size the discs, then measure. Not sure if the wheels will allow it though on your car?
  5. I get some creaks at the front, just had MOT and nothing found.
  6. I think it's 'common-ish' from when we were looking into it. Cant buy a seal kit, which is annoying!
  7. My 6speed DSG doesn't like going from reverse to drive quickly. Even if I put it in D and then put the throttle down a second latet, it jerks like crazy. It almost seems like the engine stalls as it wasn't ready and the car declutches to catch it. So I have to put in D and let it pull away then I can apply throttle. Not great if you're trying to manoeuvre quickly lol. Apart from that it's fine, I wouldnt want a manual ever again.
  8. Guy at work, on his VW (assume it's the same part) had his master cylinder let go. It's a bit of a pain to swap, as there's not much room, but certainly possible. Seem to recall it was around £50 for the part. Plenty of vids on YouTube showing how to do it.
  9. Any moisture on the seal, which could aid it moving?
  10. 2017 car, so no VAQ front diff. Their system says 5ltrs, so they are ordering that. They say they do these, so maybe the receptionist I spoke to was just a bit mixed up.
  11. Quick question, garage has quoted £228inc vat for the DSG, but this is for 5ltr of oil, but they are saying they usually use around 2ltr, does that sound right? I don't have access to my service data to check at work. Edit - I'm not going to Skoda, this is a local garage
  12. I have to get it done to keep the warranty going. After this service, I can go back to doing it myself, then I know things are done lol. Maybe I'll start to trust them.😁
  13. I don't trust any garage, so many lies and bull from so many over the years. I've used this garage before for MOTs and many people use for a simple yearly service. I'm sure they'll be fine, but it's a bit of an awkward job and people always take short cuts. Maybe I should be more optimistic!
  14. Hi all, Booking my car in for a gearbox oil change and due to my non trust in any garage, is there a way to know it's done? I guess I'll never know on the filter, they could just clean the bowl, to look like it's been touched, but what about the oil, will OBDEleven show anything, if I look at something before and after?
  15. Prob needs a scan, be a sensor or something I'd imagine.
  16. Oh, long term to me is keep going till I say lol.
  17. My long term counter reset the other day. Never has since I owned it, approx 10months. No idea why it did it. All other counters are ok, as far as i know.
  18. I did the 1hr access to Erwin and downloaded everything I could, far too much info and prob won't use it, lol.
  19. It can only have been resting on the holders and you didn't get it quite sat in properly. Unfortunately it fell out rather than sliding in, after a short period of time. An unlucky accident. If you had engaged it fully and properly, I cannot see any way it can have come out.
  20. Was the holder broken, if not it can only be your fault for not putting it back in properly. Unless I'm missing something else?
  21. I didn't know when the boot is wet, so much of the water can go inside the car when you open it!
  22. Wow, school boy error and no apology....it's not hard to say sorry!
  23. I can't find the thread on my phone, I'll try later on the PC, it was great as had detailed photos. Something I might be tempted with myself as well.
  24. Possibly, but one instance, 50mph on the motorway, warm and dry, booted to 70mph (not a single mph over) and it did it then. I wouldn't have thought it'd loose traction in that situation. It doesn't do it now which is good, as don't want to be pulling over and checking all the time, lol
  25. I remember reading through some soundproofing someone did on here, it was a good improvement, but a lot of work. Now where is that thread....
