  1. Yeah i believe its the same bumber still. I'm happy with the information that it looks the same from behind Foldable tow bar was available for RS iV since august. Was not in the configurator immediately, but was available. Also later confirmed that it does not need DCC, which at least my dealer was not sure of at first.
  2. Heh, i also have mk7.5 with dynaudio. Could not get the octavia without Canton. But i asked about the canton missing from configurator. Dealer just said that it might delay the car, but of course i can still have it. So that indeed sounds weird that you cant have it anymore, if it was available during ordering.
  3. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/volkswagens-skoda-resume-production-after-two-week-outage-ctk-news-agency-2021-10-31/ Didn't they just inform to halt new car production and focus on parked cars?
  4. Anyone know if factory tow bar makes any differences on the rear bumber?
  5. Thats a folding one, right?
  6. Sure, the sportline is not a bad choise. It's still a sportier PHEV. Not sure how could the V60 T8 be cheaper
  7. My RS iV is ordered on August. Current information is "maybe march 2022". But no real information.
  8. Interesting. My RS iV is also coming with Canton, and i went to the dealer today to talk ****. No words about Canton being impossible. It sure is gone from new orders.
  9. Seems like the author is kinda shy with tech. I myself love tech. Did so from the Technic lego's. Now the toys are just more expensive and bigger. I know quite a lot of people are afraid of them and don't trust them. Important thing is that the driver is always responsible. Just have to be aware of how well they perform most of the time, they can always have false information when you have to take over
  10. Heh. Dunno where the difference comes from. Perhaps it has something to do with the added options. Could think that sportline is heavier than normal Style with all the extra plastic But some news. I drove the sportline you had. First impression: At first i was sure there was a loose tire.. what the heck is going on with the front wheels. After a while of driving the car reported loss of tire pressure. Corrected the pressures (front had less than rear) which made the car a bit more stable. Also i noticed that it had 17" winter tires already. That made the car alot worse after 18" / lower profile. If that would have been my first testdrive, i'd perhaps skipped octavia because of bad driving experience. DCC, it was definetely noticeable. On 80-100km/h speeds, the stiff settings brought all the small holes and un eveness of the road to my seat. With comfort, they were almost gone. Agreed by my GF and sister Also tried at mannerheimintie's rocky (cobblestone) road which had the most impact. Even my GF noticed a clear difference. From that test i'm pretty happy that i'm getting DCC with the 19" wheels. Funny things. After 10minutes of driving i had to call the dealer that does it really NOT have navigation. And yes. that's an option on sportline. Would think that'd be selected
  11. I did a "compare" on the configurator for sportline iV and 1.5TSI and there was that the iV version is 7.7s Some youtube video shows that the RS iV is 7s. Not much difference there. But i believe its more noticeable in 80-120km/h. I believe it was the same or faster than 2.0 TSI RS. Oh nice to get to test the DCC. Remember that DCC is active damping. You can choose from comfort to sport, which dont have superior difference. You can still feel it when you wiggle the car in lower speeds. But the active part is that it works with the road. It should work actively when braking, accelerating and cornering. Also when the ESP kicks in it sets the dampers on sport (or equivalent). I mainly wanted the DCC for the 19" wheels. Not sure if i even want 40 profile tires, but i hope the DCC's comfort will help me abit. Also since the RS iV is quite high, i hope the sport wil help on that too.
  12. For me these "matrix" or adaptive headlights are becoming a must have. Best option on winters. I've got adaptive lights on my current car (waiting for octavia), but they turn on only after 62km/h. Newer one like Octavia turn on at 35km/h which is also an improvement. I actually thought that a Leon or Cupra leon would suit me better but Seat does not have ANY matrix or adaptive headlights available. The optional headlights are just static without any adaptive features.
  13. I ment, did your test drive sportline have DCC? Yes, both have Sport mode, but perhaps Sport in RS iV makes noticeable difference? Finnish specs say that Sportline PHEV is 7.7s from 0-100km/h. Imo the about 40hp and plenty of more torque should be noticeable
  14. Octavia 4 matrix headlights are indeed wicked bright. Not that i complaing, but i'm sure someone else will 😛
  15. Oh the sportline has DCC? Nice to get to test it finally. Did you try the Sport mode on the RS iV? I believe that's the only way to see the difference. I'm not sure if the 245hp is available only on sport mode. At least i noticed quite easily the difference between kickdown with the iV versus RS iV, at least when joining from a ramp. Electric boost is instant, but the issue is with the gearbox. Electric motor still uses the same gearbox as the ICE. So when you kickdown with hybrid, it still changes gears and at that time the ICE is ready to kick in. I did notice this, but it's not that often i need to race away. I now have a 7 speed DSG and i think its faster than the PHEV's 6 speed. Sportline iV might be close with the price since it is quite same externally. But i think that if you're thinking between the two, go with the sportline perhaps. the RS iV does not offer that much more. I took it mainly because i want the (leather/) alcantara seats and mamba green.
  16. Let me know about your thoughts on the RS iV. I'll be getting the red sportline on friday to ease my waiting Remember that seats are the thing you're using the car. So try to sit on the better seats and perhaps leave something else out. I might have more information when i've driven the sportline.
  17. Is he getting a PHEV? PHEV's heat/cool without the ICE running. So pure EV driving does not need ICE running. petrol/diesel engines have belt driven AC.
  18. RS iV ordered in august. Expected end of january earliest.
  19. 1.4TSI output is the same on paper, and i dont believe it has any internal changes either. Might have some small adjustments on the mapping. Electric engine is the same, its just mapped to produce more power. Not sure how long can it produce more power.
  20. Not sure if sportline has same steering as RS models?
  21. Most of the differences come in powertrain and interior. Sportline is just Style (+dynamic-packet) with some sportier parts. RS iV gets more juice from the electric engine. 1.4TSI output is the same on both. No DCC by default on RS iV. RS iV can be ordered with a tow bar. I actually at first did order a Style with dynamic-packet (wanted the darker interior) but since changed it to a PHEV and got the RS iV since its alot nicer inside. Getting mine with webasto so i can save on the EV range. Specially since i cant charge at home. Are you perhaps getting the red sportline from laakkonen? edit: added some pictures showing the two powertrains. ICE output is the same. Both have max output even if the battery shows 0km range, since there is still some juice left after 0km.
  22. They restore their pattern when you stop. Since they change light pattern according to speed and situations, when you stop they return to "parking" state, which is just a normal state.
  23. Hmm Thanks. Good to know. Even if i'm not comfortable perhaps totally disabling it. Indeed its good to have to have for pedestrians but i hate the tone.
  24. Cant see the UK FB post since not a member. Could you paste the important parts? Also i'm aware of it being mandatory, Just not a fan of how they did it in Octavia. Other brands seems to have more sophisticated frequency which does not annoy inside the cabing. I really dont like the sound which i hear inside when driving on EV mode.
  25. Soooo. Driving on electric cars. Silent and nice to drive. Octavia IV. Annoying noise from the noise generator on slow speeds. Is there a way to make it a bit more silent so it would not be audible to cabin? Perhaps even completely disable it. Our 2nd car is a 2021 model EV which does not have this noise generator and is much nicer to drive without the annoying synthetic sound.
