  1. It's a leased company vehicle so the leasing company decide when the tyres get changed. I'm not buggering about with a jack rotating the tyres. And I've never had fitters tell me new ones have to go on the back (it is generally safer though as it means you're less likely to lose the rear end in a corner).
  2. There's no point. The four tyres wouldnt last any longer that way.
  3. I got my IV new last October and it's done just over 20k miles now on the Pirelli P7 tyres. The still look like they have some miles left though the wear markers in the tread on the fronts are nearly at the level of the tread.
  4. I just use Lidl glass/window cleaner on mine.
  5. My P7 have done nearly 18k miles and still have plenty life left in them. It's your driving style, mate.
  6. Mine has Pirelli P7 and I still find there's roast noise.
  7. Oh wellI hopefully there's a new update soon with some noticeable improvements.
  8. I still haven't had the update pushed to my car. Pretty poor really.
  9. Winter tyres are softer rubber and also the blocks move more. They'll wear out fast in summer and handling won't be a precise due to block movement.
  10. Low rolling resistance does not mean low noise. Please don't just make stuff up.
  11. The road surface variations are what highlights how bad it is imo. Of course there won't be much noise on a new smooth surface. It's how it sounds on the rougher stuff that matters.
  12. My dad's Suzuki Swift wasn't bad at all. The cars you list are all much smaller than the Octavia. Ford Focus much quieter than Octavia.
  13. Why, what's wrong with 1969?
  14. Mine has Pirelli and I've done 15k miles and they're only half worn. Be careful how you drive!
  15. Yeah I think the 1.5 is replacing the 1.4
  16. More accurately it would be hybrid I get over 50mpg with mine just using it as a standard hybrid. Which is better than if it was just a standard 1.4TSi
  17. I find it hard to imagine that a change of tyres would eliminate the difference between loud and quite tarmac. I have Pirelli P7 on mine and can easily tell the difference and of course you could do it with your eyes closed it's so obvious.
  18. Yes, basically because the employers have no go way of reimbursing for electricity used at home. Also some can't plug in at home. It also doesn't help that the Octavia charging rate is limited so using charge points is slow, and charge points tend to cost more than petrol anyway!
  19. Anyone know where the front tweeters are? Are they next to the windscreen where those holes are? If so seems strange to put them right next to glass.
  20. Only worth it if you can plug it in every night. Mine is a company car and I think there's large tax breaks for PHEVs. I don't plug mine in
  21. Test them all on your car with a decibel meter inside.
  22. You can't tell. Cabin noise is mostly noise transmitted through the tire into the chassis. External noise is not. Tyres which make a lot of external noise can actually be quieter inside.
  23. It's actually not.
  24. Decibel rating on tyres is for external noise not cabin noise
  25. Well the diesel Octavia I had before the IV had loads of engine noise. I actually wore noise cancelling headphones when driving on the motorway.
