There's a slight adjustment when you first move over to an Automatic gearbox, but in my case, I found that within a day or two of driving it all just clicked into place. And I wished I'd moved to Automatic much sooner. It's so much easier than a Manual. A few tips: Put the car into 'D' (or Eco) and leave it there when driving. I've never needed to use 'N' at all. Get comfortable with rocking the gear lever into 'S' sport mode for when you need a burst of power (eg, when overtaking) - if you skip to 02.25 in the video below it shows you how to do it. If your car has them, get comfortable with using the paddle shifters on your steering wheel while driving, again, useful, if you want to quickly drop down a gear.

I didn't ask, but my inference was that 'MySkoda' is the preferred app for customers to use.

Just curious. Are you using the 'Skoda Connect' or 'MySkoda' app on your phone? I collected a new Sport Line in November and the dealer set me up on 'MySkoda' (said not to use 'Skoda Connect'.) The app has worked fine, including yesterday and today. It's bad that you haven't been able to sort it since last July. I'm assuming you've been to visit your local Skoda dealer?

I haven't tried Skoda Laura yet. But I do find using "hey Google" through Android Auto quite useful on occasions.

I use a Karcher K4. It has different settings for different jobs - easily controlled. For example: Power 3 for hard jobs like cleaning the patio Power 2 for washing the car

When I collected my 71 plate Karoq in November it originally came with just one key as I was told Skoda are having a bit of a shortgage with keys at the moment. So I also had to wait to setup 'MySkoda'. I received my second key a couple of weeks later and everything is setup now. Have you chased your dealer for the second key?

Hi Paul Yes, a pressure washer is ideal for washing the car. I use a Karcher K4, which I bought a couple of years ago from Halfords. Yes, I find snow foam a useful step in the car washing process for loosening dirt prior to a bucket wash. You'll need a snow foam attachment for your pressure washer. The Karcher one is cheap and cheerful or you can buy others that fit. I use a mix of car cleaning products, usually from decent brands like AutoGlym, Bilt Hamber and Meguiars. Available from Halfords, Amazon or other online retailers. As a beginner, you might be interested in watching a few videos on Youtube. There are actually dozens of channels on Youtube devoted to car washing and detailing. The Forensic Detailing Channel is a good place to start, for example: Cheers PJ

I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I've moved to a Karoq from a nicely-specced Audi and don't miss it. There's more than enough tech on the Karoq for me.

If you wanted to bypass the Skoda in-built Sat Nav and ditch the Garmin, you could use Android Auto or Apple Carplay, which gives you access to either Google Maps or Waze for navigation. I've been using Android Auto for the past month and can't see myself going back to the in-built Sat Nav. Waze is very fast at updating navigation en-route, warns me of speed cameras, vehicle breakdowns and other traffic incidents. And it uses hardly any mobile data at all. Waze is owned by Google. ----- How Much Data Does Android Auto Use? Android Auto will consume some data because it draws in information from the home screen, such as the current temperature and proposed routing. And by some, we mean 0.01 megabytes. The applications you use for streaming music and navigation are where you’ll find the majority of your cell phone data consumption. How much data does WAZE use per hour? Google Maps consumes around 0.6MB of data each hour. I was a bit concerned when ordering my Karoq Sport Line with 19" wheels after reading forum feedback on drive comfort and bumps in the road. However, in the first month of owning the car I honestly haven't noticed any issues with the ride, comfort or handling. Given what you say about expense and range though, I think if I was choosing again I might opt for 18". When I was reading up about tyres I found this UK tyre comparison video quite useful. Hi Charles. I can see from your other responses that you're hopefully making progress with the Skoda SatNav. I hope you get it sorted. When I decided to give Waze / Google Maps on Android Auto a try I was also concerned about the amount of mobile data it might consume as I'm on a low-tariff O2 package like you. The good news is that it uses very little data. To give you an idea, I've been using Android Auto and Waze in the car for the past month and my data usage is less than 100Mb - that's less than 5% of a 2Gb allowance. I had a bit of a play with the Skoda in-built Sat Nav when I got my Karoq, but have moved over to using 'Waze' on my mobile phone and connected to the car via Android Auto (it's also available in Apple Carplay). Another plus is that it uses hardly any mobile data at all, so no need to worry about data usage. I believe that Waze is owned by Google Maps. You could install Waze and try it for a few days to see what you think. My 2021 Karoq has come with 3 years breakdown assistance.

BT = Bluetooth You wouldn't need a cable to connect it to the car. It should connect using Bluetooth, just like pairing a mobile phone.
