  1. I stick mine in neutral or park if waiting at lights and the start/stop is off. Think there are threads on here that say keeping it in D when stopped will wear the clutch pack.
  2. I had mine pop off and release itself again the other day. Scared the life out of my daughter who was getting out the car and I was already out with the door closed. Utterly crap design
  3. currently on 41,500 miles and original pads. I tend to use eco whenever I'm on the motorway and not in a rush.
  4. I thought they removed that feature on the UK models? isn't on mine unless it was brought back in. EDIT, discontinued due to cost - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/257060-active-bonnet/?hl=%2Bpedestrian+%2Bprotection#entry3168288
  5. My daft dab is affected by the weather! If it's sunny I can get ultimate 80's up and down the coast all day. As soon as it's cloudy or raining it drops to no signal :(
  6. black magic on mine but its a 2013. doubt its changed since then
  7. Ah sorry, my mistake I thought you were talking about the speed in ACC. Didn't realise the Golfs had a speed limiter available.
  8. Mine with ACC brakes on hills/set speed, same as the golf. I find it very odd that Skoda don't include the braking with standard CC as the functionality is obviously there. BMW include braking as standard in all their CC now on the 3 series.
  9. Had my replacement seals fitted last week. After a wash and plenty of rain this week no more splashy door opening
  10. I had the same problem as there are very few of that age going private. Skoda were offering me £13200 for mine when I was looking at a Superb last September. With the low residuals and huge decline of the Mkiii value I've ended up jumping ship to a Bmw which is coming in May. When I calculated what I owed and what Skoda were likely to give me it didn't look like I would ever get out of neg equity plus there was the risk the boot struts would fail again out of warranty :( The bonus is that bm are giving me slightly more px in May than what Skoda offered me last year :-/ It's a shame to jump ship to another brand but I'm looking forward to the new one now. The mkiii's just don't hold their value anywhere near the 3 mkii's I had
  11. Mines in today to have replacement seals. I'll try and get the numbers later.
  12. yep different strokes. The residual is only really relevant here if you are doing a Pcp. As you say over 5 years when you are buying it the residuals aren't as important.
  13. I assume the high VRS price is due to the low GFV at the end? I was looking at a similar thing with a Superb 4x4 L&K and it was similar
  14. nice spec Unless things have changed this can be added via vcds as you already have the hardware - Intelligent light assist/high beam control The power boot has been problematic with seals failing but a new revised part number has hopefully fixed this.
  15. I took a superb out before Christmas and was very pleasantly surprised to find they seemed to have fixed this in the 190 DSG sport mode (via the shifter stick). As with my VRS (184CR) it hangs on much too long but the sport on the superb accelerated through the gears and changed up earlier than the VRS would. It also dropped the gears down to sensible choices once I took my foot off the accelerator while still in sport. The Octavia would still be revving its nuts off at this point in mine :( Im hoping they someday apply this DSG software to the Octavia in the future...
  16. never had this problem on my previous 4 octavia's mki to mkii but got it on the mkiii. Haven't been arsed before now but mentioned it to the dealer on a service before christmas in case I'm stuck with it this year. They've ordered two sets of new door seals to fix the problem.
  17. Mines due a service so I'm going to ask about getting it looked at
  18. the back wheels were still spinning when he was getting out of the car!
  19. i can't replicate it every time to show them and there are no errors so I knew there'd be no point
  20. when it stops it gives you a couple of seconds before it says "apply the brake" then cancels ACC. As soon as you move off you can pull back the acc stick to re-enable your last speed, say 70mph and it will trundle in traffic tracking the car in front. I think the newer Audi systems have a traffic mode which will stop you and restart itself on DSG with ACC. Not on the octavia though :(
